What can I say about the staff at Highcliffe Care Home.

We were saddened to have to move Dad into care after a fall in 2023, and it was a tough decision we had to make as a family. How do we choose? He had been self-dependent until the age of 93.

When we visited the home for the first time, it had a warm and homely feel, which was confirmed once we moved Dad in.

I recommend Highcliffe to anyone thinking about doing the same.
Why?
The staff are always lovely.
They made Dad feel really special.
The activities are great for those who want to participate, and they include many external trips.
It is always immaculate in all areas.

Like all things in life, we had a few teething problems initially, but once they understood Dad and he was settled, as a family, we could all sleep peacefully in our beds, knowing he was safe.

Dad passed in January, and all I can say is thank you to everyone for making Dad's last few years as comfortable and safe as they could be.

My dad stayed at Highcliffe for two weeks respite. We were very impressed with the first visit my wife and I made (following a recommendation) with the compassion and care shown, referring to a possible stay. We went back the next day with Dad and soon made the decision that Highcliffe would be ideal for his respite. He was very satisfied with the stay and the care and attention given to him by all staff he came in contact with.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Highcliffe Care Home!

Father was admitted 27/2 for a 17 day stay. Showered once. Clothes not changed daily, looked dirty each visit. "Fell from bed," not notified - spoke to deputy twice giving concerns - asked for Father to be showered day of leave - ignored - pad still in situ from night before - as per same clothes. Raised with carer who "leant against the bedroom wall whilst chewing gum" as I asked why?

Never saw the manager during my visits - shocking.

Not happy with the previous care home my mam was in, we got her a place at Highcliffe, I can honestly say what a massive difference, it's lovely and clean, the rooms are lovely, soon as you walk in its got a lovely homely feel, all the staff are very nice, doesn't matter what time of day or night you go, the staff are always interacting with the residents. If ever I've had concerns the care staff are quick to respond back, they listen to your concerns, nothing is too much trouble for them, the cleanliness is spot on, I've got no worries or concerns with my mam being in Highcliffe, would highly recommend, everything about Highcliffe is spot on, the carers do a brilliant job.

When my mother needed care, Highcliffe Care Home was recommended to me by a friend whose relation was a resident. The staff were very welcoming and supportive at a difficult time adapting to the situation. We were offered the option of several different rooms, all of which were sizable and pleasant. The times my mother needed assurance in her new surroundings and the different medical needs were handled with kindness and support by all the staff and any medical issues attended to promptly, interacting with the necessary medics. Activities and a resident hairdresser are provided for those wishing to participate. Overall, at the present time, I would not hesitate to recommend Highcliffe to someone who needed care and support.

Due to unexpected circumstances, we needed to place my aunt into a care home immediately. Of three possible placements only Highcliffe was prepared to go the extra mile in assessing and completing paperwork to allow my aunt a safe place to stay that same day. (They did paperwork in one afternoon.) The staff are very professional, caring and made a real effort to make my aunt welcome. The building is clean and tidy, the food is good and the general atmosphere is pleasant.

My friend and I have been visiting a friend in Highcliffe Care Home for the past 10 months and have been very impressed with the care and friendliness shown to both visitors and the residents. There are always lots of activities both indoors and outdoors for the residents who are encouraged in a very caring way to take part. The resident's wishes are also well respected. This week because of Halloween the building has been beautifully decorated and there is going to be a Halloween party for the residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending Highcliffe Care Home.
