My mother was in Millbeck for 18 months after the death of my father (both in mid 90s). My mother was not suited in any way to care home life. She wasn't sociable and didn't want anyone else's company. She was quite fussy with food, so the majority of the time she didn't want to be at Millbeck, and at times could let staff know this and was on occasions difficult. Staff went out of their way to accommodate her into the life of the home and try to make her final months as best and comfortable as they properly could. They were very patient, understanding and supportive. I would recommend this home unreservedly.

My mother spent eight months living at Millbeck and I bitterly regret that she spent even one day there. My mother was neglected and treated with disdain by the staff. They made no effort to get to know her or to understand how she was affected by dementia. She fell ill due to neglect and was admitted to hosptial who confirmed she had experienced malnutrition and neglect at Millbeck.
My mother has now moved to a new care home where she has made a good physical recovery and is enjoying life again. She is more active and enjoys interacting with the carers at the new home. They enjoy her company and comment on how pleased they are that she has come to their home.

Millbeck clearly was not a good fit for my mum. If I was considering a home for a loved one, I would not take a risk on Millbeck as they clearly are not trained or experienced in dealing with people with dementia.

My good friend has lived at Millbeck for a couple of years now, and she is thriving. She says the staff are like her family. When visiting her staff are always kind and polite. My friend has said she wishes she moved in well before she did, she loves it at Millbeck and every staff member, care, kitchen, house keeping and management.

I have been visiting my auntie at Millbeck Care Home and I have never seen her looking so happy and content in a long time she has told me that staff are fantastic and treat her with dignity and respect at all times and could not praise them enough. Each time I visit , all staff including management to housekeepers, make me feel welcome, this gives me peace of mind knowing she is happy and well looked after.

I have many experiences with Millbeck Care Home as my mother has been a resident for approximately 18 months now, and I have nothing but praise for every member of staff in the home which I find so much relief, as we have been involved with other homes and not had much luck with them. Millbeck is so different from all the rest. On a few occasions I have spoken to cares regarding my mum's health, for example in asking if they have noticed a mark on her leg the reply I got was "I have taken a photo this morning and the nurse is coming out to see her today" what more can you ask for anyone. I am due to get my sister moved into Millbeck next week as she has Parkinson's this is the only home I know where she will be looked after like my mum is.

I visit the home on an almost daily basis to visit my mother. She moved in and year ago and during that year she has received excellent care. Staff are caring, friendly and helpful. They respect residents dignity and try to consider their likes and dislikes as much as possible. I always feel reassured that my mum is receiving the best care at Millbeck.

I visit my friend on a fortnightly basis, all the staff from the managers to the care team at millbeck care home amaze me they are so friendly, helpful and very compassionate nothing is ever too much trouble, my friend has lived at millbeck for a number years now due to a deteriorating health condition, it is such a comfort to myself to see my friend happy and healthy but more importantly very well cared for from the staff, my friend states the meals are wonderful with plenty of choices and very tasty I have to agree as I myself have stayed for meals by pre booking before visiting my friend the day before, my friends room is comfortably decorated with a spacious room and an excellent view of the garden and maintained to the highest of cleanliness, activities are very well planned and displayed throughout the care home with the staff doing some excellent fates throughout the year, I would highly recommend millbeck to my friends and family if they ever required a care home facility.

Overall a very nice care home but the rooms are getting shabby. Feel they are due some redecoration. Also if we could know the door code to get in would be better instead of waiting outside in the cold for someone to open it. Also my mum says needs more variety in the food options.

My father is very happy at Millbeck. He has an excellent relationship with the staff, who are all patient and kind. As a visitor, I find the staff polite and helpful. They take a genuine interest in my father and do everything possible to make his life in Millbeck a comfortable one. He also tells me that the food is usually excellent and he can have a glass of wine with his meal!

In recent months and after a number of medical challenges Mum decided to give up her own home and moved to Milbeck Care Home. We were concerned that Mum might not settle having been in her own home for so long. In reality, Mum has settled in really well and has been made to be very welcome. All the staff have been brilliant in supporting Mum to use all the facilities, take medication and join in the social events - no complaints about the food too!

We are very pleased with how everything has gone over the last months and it's great to see Mum settling in so well.

I first knew of Millbeck when a lovely lady I cared for in her own home moved there. So when another lady I cared for told me she was going into a home, I immediately recommended Millbeck. I'm always made to feel welcome by all staff. The lady I visit now has a lovely room withe everything she needs. There is always a member of staff popping in to ask my friend if she needs anything.

My father has been a resident now for almost 2 years, the continuing service by the staff is outstanding. My dad suffers with dementia but this doesn't stop the staff showing wonderful care and consideration at all times. At times the staff are under resourced but the service doesn't seem to diminish due to the quantity of the employees. I, with my family visit most days and see first hand the challenges they have. I commend them on their enthusiasm and professionalism. Well done all!
