It has taken my friend a very long time to adapt to life in the home, but now, thanks to support and encouragement from the staff, she seems more settled and content. She really enjoyed the "sing-along" this afternoon. We both enjoyed tea and lovely cheese scones during my visit today!

Nothing is to much trouble to them at all, the staff go the extra yard when care and support is needed. Total commitment from them all. I visit my partner every day and I can arrive and depart without any worries knowing she is being well cared for 100%.

Mum has been living at Birch Hill for three years now and just celebrated her 102 birthday there. I visit two to three times a week and Mum is always happy, well presented and sitting quietly with a coffee and cake in the Conservatory or the TV lounge. At her age she doesn't always want to be at the centre of activities but loves all the attention she gets from the staff who are incredibly helpful and thoughtful, and loves observing all the activities that other residents take part in. I always feel I can completely trust the staff to make sure Mum is comfortable , safe and happy. It's like belonging to a big family.

All in all the best place she could be away from her own home.

Our ex-neighbour is a resident in Birch Hill. We joined her for xmas lunch with the other residents. The staff had dressed the room for Christmas and the tree was beautiful. The whole team are very attentive, constantly checking on individuals and they all seem to be aware of their needs, and their likes and dislikes. The whole place is clean and has a lovely atmosphere.

Birch Hill has a really warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff are always willing to help and to go that extra mile. The food is excellent and the residents are so well cared for. I have visited several times over the past year, but I will focus on my latest visit in October 2025. From arriving at the front door, all staff I met were welcoming and helpful. I was offered a coffee and biscuits while visiting Mum, and when she needed help we used the call button and someone came to assist very willingly and with lots of empathy and care. Mum always looks well dressed and cared for, and is given plenty of choices for meals.

Jennifer Mackie is the Registered Manager at Birch Hill Care Centre. She has been with Birch Hill since October 2018 — almost 8 years — and took over as manager in February 2022, when the previous manager moved to lead one of Lenore Care's other homes. Jennifer has worked within the care sector for over 22 years, with a wide range of knowledge spanning learning disabilities, dementia care, and end-of-life care.
Jennifer is immensely proud of the staff at Birch Hill, who put residents' needs at the forefront of everything they do. The care they deliver is outstanding and always centred around each resident's individual needs — for Jennifer, Birch Hill is truly a home from home.
