It has taken my friend a very long time to adapt to life in the home, but now, thanks to support and encouragement from the staff, she seems more settled and content. She really enjoyed the "sing-along" this afternoon. We both enjoyed tea and lovely cheese scones during my visit today!

All staff members make our family so welcome when we visit mum. Mum is cared for by caring, hard working staff for which my mother's requests are dealt with professionally and efficiently.

Right from day one Birch Hill provided the very best in caring, kindness, and professionalism, all delivered with a happy and friendly approach.
They provide a wonderful family atmosphere where all residents are recognized as individuals, and their specific needs are thoughtfully considered and met.
The Birch Hill team is on top of the day to day needs of each resident, as well as having a longer term plan of the overall care they are providing. They are excellent at advocating on behalf of each resident with multidisciplinary medical teams.
I live in Australia and am only able to be in the UK maximum once a year. I video call Mum several times a week and the team are always really happy to set up the iPad and take it along to Mum so we can have a good chat and stay connected. I am conscious that this interrupts the team's normal work day routine but everyone is so willing to help and I feel they truly recognize how important this to us.

I am just so happy Mum is at Birch Hill.

My partner has now been a resident in Birch Hill Care Home for 18 months. Ever since she came to the care home we both can only say with the utmost honesty the care and support has been exceptional, the staff have become our special friends.

Nothing is to much trouble to them at all, the staff go the extra yard when care and support is needed. Total commitment from them all. I visit my partner every day and I can arrive and depart without any worries knowing she is being well cared for 100%.

New residents recently, all in different stages of dementia.

I visit my husband everyday so I know the staff and their kind treatment. Their patience & understanding & calmness to the newcomers was outstanding but no neglect to the other residents, and as always never a cross word or gossipy talk.

Mum has been living at Birch Hill for three years now and just celebrated her 102 birthday there. I visit two to three times a week and Mum is always happy, well presented and sitting quietly with a coffee and cake in the Conservatory or the TV lounge. At her age she doesn't always want to be at the centre of activities but loves all the attention she gets from the staff who are incredibly helpful and thoughtful, and loves observing all the activities that other residents take part in. I always feel I can completely trust the staff to make sure Mum is comfortable , safe and happy. It's like belonging to a big family.

When you enter Birch Hill you are always greeted with a smile. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The residents are happy and well cared for and there is no unpleasant smells as you walk around. There are plenty of rooms to sit and chat in, so you don't have to sit in front of the TV blaring in the corner, which is the case in other homes. All in all the best place she could be away from her own home.

Our ex-neighbour is a resident in Birch Hill. We joined her for xmas lunch with the other residents. The staff had dressed the room for Christmas and the tree was beautiful. The dinner was delicious too. They had all done a great job to make the day special and a lovely local choir made it that bit more special.

The whole team are very attentive, constantly checking on individuals and they all seem to be aware of their needs, and their likes and dislikes. The whole place is clean and has a lovely atmosphere.

My mother has been a very happy and settled resident for over three years . The care and attention to her needs has never faltered throughout this time which is such a credit to the team at Birch Hill , not underestimating the seamless changes which have occurred in this time.
From the moment you arrive all the staff do there utmost to make the time spent with your relative as special as they can , everyone has their own way of enjoying time there , and no request is to much trouble.

It's impossible to highlight a department or individual as it always feels like visiting one big happy family.

Birch Hill has a really warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff are always willing to help and to go that extra mile. The food is excellent and the residents are so well cared for. I have visited several times over the past year, but I will focus on my latest visit in October 2025. From arriving at the front door, all staff I met were welcoming and helpful. I was offered a coffee and biscuits while visiting Mum, and when she needed help we used the call button and someone came to assist very willingly and with lots of empathy and care. Mum always looks well dressed and cared for, and is given plenty of choices for meals.
