At Parkside House Care Home, staff aim to provide residents with a high standard of care that enhances their quality of life in a friendly and relaxing environment.

It respects everyone's right to choose and supports the privacy, dignity and independence of each resident.

There is a separate area for residents with a diagnosis of dementia, with its own sitting and dining area allowing the care team to focus on specific individual needs. Respite and day care services are also practised.

Parkside is a converted Victorian house, with gardens in front of the home and sitting areas on the patio in the rear, where there is also a sensory garden where residents can enjoy being outside in a safe and enclosed area.

They have a small separate building in the grounds of Parkside House with its own kitchen where residents who benefit from the support and services provided by carers, laundry and kitchen staff can also enjoy a level of independence while benefiting from living in in a secure environment.

Parkside House is a very short distance from the Penarth seafront and pier and in easy walking distance from the town centre with its many cafes, restaurants and shops.

Felt welcomed at any time as a visitor. Questioned staff when required, always willing to help and support. Was hard for family to put nan into home as she had lived with my mum for last 7 years but it was getting way too much. Staff were as supportive of family as they were on a daily basis with nan.

I think in today's society, people are quick to criticise but not praise. My mum has been at Parkside for 17 months, and during that time, she has been cared for and loved more than I could have ever expected. They all are wonderful staff. The food is good and the management are brilliant!

My mother has been a resident of Parkside since October 2014. Throughout her stay, she has been shown compassion, consideration and patience. Members of staff are always cheerful, kind and make every effort to accommodate her particular needs and preserve her dignity. I cannot imagine a more friendly,
homely place for her to be and I have no hesitation in commending Parkside to anyone seeking care for a loved one.

From day 1 (12 months ago) my wife and I have been impressed with the care and consideration demonstrated by all members of staff towards residents and visitors alike. We have been contacted immediately when health issues have arisen and updated with progress to resolution. We and the rest of the family
are able to carry on with our lives knowing that a very high standard of care is being given and that we do not have to worry about health and welfare issues.

My mum was very well looked after by the staff. They gave me regular feedback on mums health and contacted me with any incident or health problem that occurred.
The staff were very friendly, like family. They offer a great service for people in need. I highly recommend the facility.

Our 87 year old mum went into Parkside House in June 2016, following a stay in hospital. She was starting to find it very difficult living at her home, even though she was having help from myself daily.
Since moving into her new home, she seems really happy and contented. The staff and management are
lovely to her and we know, when we cannot be with her, she is being looked after really well and we do not have to worry luke we did before.

Parkside House is set in a lovely location close to the beach and pier and is a large Victorian House which is kept spotlessly clean and warm. Staff are friendly and always on hand to give advice and help. Residents are secure and have access to the usual facilities such as hairdressers and chiropodists.

am kept well informed on my mother's progress and any if problems arise I am informed.
I am glad my mother is in such a caring environment and would recommend Parkside House to anybody looking for a Residential Home

I cannot praise the management and staff highly enough for the love and care that has been shown to mum-in-law during her stay at the home. Every effort has been made to accommodate her needs which have become more difficult over recent months. Unfortunately, mum-in-law now has to move on to a nursing
home and I am devasted. Mum-in-law has been happier here than I have ever seen her. This is a very sad time for me and for her. This is a wonderful resident home and mum-in-law and will miss it greatly.

My mother is quite confused but we have seen nothing but respectful treatment. The atmosphere in the home is of friendly efficiency. Mum has only been in the home six weeks but we are hoping she will settle and become more secure.

We visit our sister in law on a fairly frequent basis. Our experience has been a very professional, very caring and compassionate care home, that treats its residents with the utmost of respect and dignity. The staff are always pleasant and courteous and appear to enjoy the job they do and really care
about the residents. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. As visitors, we are always made very welcome and always offered a cup of tea and biscuits. The ambience of Parkside House Care Home is brilliant and serene.

After suffering a stroke we tried caring for Mum at home, but the severe anxiety she suffered as a result of the stroke made this impossible and extremely stressful for both Mum and my family, and therefore after an agonising discussion with Mum the difficult decision was made to put Mum into a home.


I

need not have worried - the staff at Parkside Care Home have been wonderful, Mum grows better and more independent all the time - from little things like patience and caring, to coming up with ideas like a whiteboard in her room for me to note down when I'm coming back (and therefore stop her getting anxious about me) the staff and managers have helped not only Mum but also myself - in once again being able to spend quality time with each other.


I have no hesitation in recommending Parkside Care Home (and have already done so). Parkside and all the staff have helped Mum get back to enjoying life again - and therefore making me happy that the decision we made was the right one

My auntie seems to be very well cared for at Parkside. Her personal appearance is important to the staff. They help her do her hair especially when she's planning on going out for the afternoon. As a visitor, staff seem very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. My aunt is able to offer us a drink
as if we were visiting her at home. She usually enjoys the food provided and seems happy and cheerful.

I find all of the staff at Parkside House Care Home to be very professional and helpful. They've made the transition of my father living with me to now being at the home a seamless one. Dad is now calm with no agitation. The home is always clean and tidy and most important for me is that it feels like
home and not an institution.

Ever since we have managed to secure my mother a position at Parkside House Care Home we have witnessed a massive improvement in her appearance and demeanour she is happier, cleaner and her health seems to have got better, the dementia symptoms have greatly improved and she is less confused. Her overall
appearance and manner are much better a credit to the care and involvement of the team at Parkside.

A rambling Victorian building set in lovely grounds. What makes this place tick is the genuine love, care and consideration from all of the staff. I could make some minor criticisms but they are very minor when placed in context against the above comment.
