I visited Abermill today as the Deputy Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, to celebrate the 100th birthday of a resident.

The home was warm and welcoming and staff delightful - very engaged with residents. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit!

Happy Birthday to the resident.

My father is very well looked after, fed well and always clean. He is happy with Abermill, he generally finds fault with most things, but he likes it here. 10/10

This home is pleasant, father-in-law visits daily. He finds his wife very happy and the staff are great they treat all residents with great respect.
They did many things coming up to Christmas e.g Panto, Christmas Pary, Children's Choir a singer and many more activities. Starting crafting now after Christmas.

On the odd occasion, staff need more help es[ecially when multiple people needing to use the toilets. More staff in the night would help too. Highly recommended.

I am very pleased with the level of care my father receives from Abermill. The refurbishment downstairs is fabulous. It's comfortable, bright and airy and very inclusive.
He is well looked after, always clean and tidy and is happy.
I have never seen anything in Abermill that I am unhappy with.

The staff are a credit to the care home, they are friendly, helpful and genuinely seem to care.

My mum has been in the home for about six weeks. She has received really good care from all the staff. She enjoys getting her hair done every week. She has been taken out of the home a couple of times. My mum is looked after and the staff are brilliant with her. She enjoys the food and the staff always ensures they have drinks to keep them well hydrated... thank you to the staff!

The staff are extremely capable and caring and nothing is too much trouble. Always helpful, residents feel comfortable, secure, and engaged, it certainly brings out the best of them. From being alone, there is certainly stimulation created by care assistants.

I would visit my husband most days, sometimes twice and I was always met with the feeling of being welcome.
The staff always treated the residents as if it was their home.
The food was excellent and the best quality. Management was not so good until there was a change and then I found lots of improvement. The overall look was tired but they were going through an overall and makeover when I left.

I would recommend Abermill 100%.

My mother has vascular dementia and became very difficult to care for. It was a very hard decision to put my mum into a care home but I am happy to see my mum so settled. The care and support my mum and family have received have been outstanding. The staff are excellent and mum is very happy there.

My nan came to Abermill for respite care for a total of 4 weeks. I have never seen my nan so happy within these weeks. The facilities were fabulous. The carers were amazing always happy and nothing was too much trouble for them. My nan loved the singing, chair zumba and the company of everyone, so much so that she has now become a permanent resident.
