The team at Church View are committed to helping residents to maintain a positive quality of life, whatever that means to them. As well as the range of activities available, residents are also encouraged to stay connected with the Caerphilly community, from building relationships with neighbours in local community groups and schools, to arranging sightseeing trips in the local area.
Inside, the home has been carefully designed to provide residents with a space where they feel at home, whilst also being equipped to offer the highest quality care and support. There is a range of premier and wet room options, as well as a hair salon and café on site, and residents can enjoy mealtimes in the specially designed dining areas. During the warmer months, the peaceful courtyard garden is the ideal spot for some alfresco dining.

We're sorry that you were disappointed by the standard of décor in the bedrooms on the lower floor. Bedroom refurbishments are carried out at a different time under a rolling programme of works and will be completed to the same high standard as the rest of the home.
My husband went for respite care, he has vascular dementia. He settled very well and I was able to relax knowing that he was being well cared for. The December activities for Christmas have been impressive. There was a large range including care services, modern and old time singing, local school choir, card making and several parties for xmas and new year. My husband and I were welcomed to have xmas lunch with my father which was a lovely occasion - room and tables decorated beautifully and food was excellent. This was for all residents not just us. When I turned up unexpectedly at any of the events I was welcomed and made comfortable (tea provided). Thank you.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?
“Kind care means getting to know people and understanding their emotions, making every effort to offer the best possible care, and getting Residents involved in the activities that make them happiest.”
Christine started working at sister HC-One care home Abermill in 2001, and later progressed to Home Manager level after excelling in her role as Deputy Manager at the home. She has gained experience in a number of different care services, including residential and memory care, and has achieved qualifications in health and social services, management and care.
Christine closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that means they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
When asked what she enjoys the most about her role, Christine remarked: “I enjoy taking time to interact with Residents and their Relatives, which allows me to get to know each individual on a personal level.”
Christine credits her biggest achievement as completing a 3km sponsored walk, raising more than £400 for Alzheimer’s Society, with the support of her Colleagues and Residents.
Outside of work, Christine enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, including watching her niece and nephews play rugby.
