My sister has been resident for 6 months. I continue to find the care and attention to my sister's needs excellent. The staff take time to chat to her to further get to know her likes and dislikes. All staff, but especially the nursing staff, respond positively and quickly to any concerns raised or
questions asked in a friendly professional manner.

Overall great care provided. Only slight issue with loss of hearing aids. Staff are always engaging and very friendly and see to my Mum's every need. Lots of activities to take part in if residents are able. The food choices are first class and are very varied. My Mum seems very happy here.

My Mother has been a resident for two years and in that time I have very rarely had any cause to complain about the care given to her.
In fact if I have had recourse to to query any complaints or concerns that I, or mum have ,these requests have been met with such wonderful professionalism by all members
of staff and may I say dealt with in a very timely way.
I also commend the staff on their diligence when it comes to relating all minor bumps or mishaps that can and do happen. This is I am sure a great help to all relatives of the residents.
I must conclude by expressing my gratitude for the amount of thought given to the entertainment provided for residents and the quality and variety of food which to me is of paramount importance

Mum moved in here in December & has settled in amazingly well. She loves it here & is always telling us how fantastic the Carers are & how good the food is. Her room is always spotlessly clean too.
There are lots of activities and Mum wasn't joining in at first, but with gentle persuasion from Jinty,
she started to take part. I was really impressed by this as it really was gently done with no pressure.
There's a lovely atmosphere, everyone says hello, starting with the Receptionist, who is so pleasant.
Overall, we know Mum is happly & settled and being looked after with the best care possible.
Great place!

Excellent staff and very good facilities. Activities are very good and they encourage the residents to join in. Food is very good and the cafe is excellent with tea coffee etc for residents and visitors. In the summer they now have a bus which will mean more trips out of the home.

My mum was transferred from the acute hospital to Caledonian Court in December 2023. Since taking up residence there she has been extremely well supported by staff who offer truly personalised care. They take time and really get to know the individual and all aspects of their personality which is in
turn reflected in the support provided.
Her room is both comfortable and functional with high housekeeping standards.
Meals are varied and she has commented on how much she enjoys the food.
Staff have always been helpful and approachable and follow up on any specific requests made.
As a family we are happy knowing my mum is safe and well cared for in all respects.

Caledonian Court is an excellent care home. The staff are friendly, helpful and very approachable.
The carers are courteous, patient and kind to the residents, they have time for each and are very caring.
My Dad is kept spotlessly clean and fresh . He is well fed by the catering staff and helped at
mealtimes by the carers. The home is kept clean and tidy by the domestic staff and his clothes and bedding always fresh and clean.
The residents are entertained frequently by visiting singers and musicians and often have functions to celebrate different times of the year.
I should say too that the staff are excellent at keeping in touch should any concerns arise .
My Dad is very settled and happy in Caledonian Court, which is a great comfort to me.

My mother-in-law became a resident in the Caledonian Court community in December 2023. We were initially worried about how she would react to moving into care after living in her own home until she was 95. We had no cause to worry. The staff from the cleaners, care staff, and medical staff up to the
manager looked after her really well. Helped her to integrate into the community. They also allayed any concerns we had about her. The care home has taken years off her and she enjoys her new life in Caledonian Court Larbert.

We are happy with the care and attention she receives from the day staff. The night shift, at times, could be a bit more understanding, especially to the needs of the resident and taking their age into consideration.

First of all, thanks very much for all you do! Staff are friendly and the home is well looked after. There is plenty of space to get around inside and outside. May I suggest however, that something is done to improve wheelchair access at the front door? It is possible to manage but it could be made
easier. I am fit but I imagine others could really struggle. Oftentimes, I am at the door, pushing a chair in or out, with no one else around except the person in the chair. The outside doors are heavy and the metal ramp on the ground makes it really awkward to get through. It’s only a suggestion. Thanks again!
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Caledonian CourtWe are pleased to hear of your positive experience with our friendly team, and that you feel the facilities are spacious and well-maintained. We appreciate your constructive comments surrounding accessibility for disabled residents at the entrance. Our team are always willing to aid residents and their loved ones getting in and out of the home, and we are always considering ways to improve accessibility and ensuring getting around is as easy for residents as possible.

My mother, born 23.01.1933, died while resident at the home.
I and my brother have nothing but praise for the staff who cared for my mother over a period of twenty months. She was diagnosed with vascular dementia in early 2021 and died peacefully this month.
My mother was obviously well cared for
and when she had an occasional, lucid period, herself praised the staff and was often heard issuing their instructions for the day, she had a wicked sense of humour and the staff often engaged in humorous exchanges with her.
Again, my thanks to the management and all the staff.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.527)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.527) out of 10 for Caledonian Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.894 for Caledonian Court is calculated as follows: ( (127 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 141 Ratings = 4.894
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.633 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Caledonian Court is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.4 = 0.833
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
