Overall Experience

Nazareth House has been home to my grandmother for nearly 4 years. At the start, things were hard and with my gran in hospital, Nazareth House was our saving grace. My Gran's condition totally improved, thanks to staff and socialisation provided at Nazareth House. I cannot commend the work of the staff anymore. I'm from a nursing background and the care I see my Gran get on a daily basis is outstanding. The home excels in providing patient centred care, with my Gran's individual needs attended to every day. Staff are always happy to help and communicate with us all as a family. The facilities themselves are stunning. My Gran has her own room with en-suite with her own front door. The home also has a cinema, hairdressers and 2 enclosed resident gardens. This home and its staff have become extended family to us. I couldn't recommend Nazareth House any more.

My aunt is well cared for, respected and valued by all the staff - with due attention to spiritual needs. She is content, feels (physically and emotionally) safe and secure. The home is spotless, she has a bright and spacious room (as do other residents). Her family are delighted with the care she receives and are most grateful to all staff.

My mum has been in the care home one year now. From day one I have always found the home to be very welcoming, feel like part of the family. Care provided is excellent, mum well looked after, always well presented, clothes always colour co-ordinated. Gardens and facilities outside excellent, beautiful tables and chairs etc to enjoy sunshine. Cleanliness of home in all areas excellent, never any smells. Food lovely, good choice. One of the best care homes in Glasgow, and I have seen a number.

The review encompassed many factors, my comfort, my security, my well being, my dealings with the staff my opinion of e.g meals, the caring provided. In terms of care it is excellent the rooms are cleaned daily. There is an assigned carer for me but all the carers are helpful, diligent and want to do a "good job". There are choices of menus at dinner and supper (5pm) The food is well cooked and the menus are varied. Residents are treated with dignity (some have dementia type illness) and humour (when appropriate) there are areas for sitting out in good weather and then cold drinks (and ice cream!) is provided. A new activities coordinator has just been appointed.

My experience of Nazareth House care home has always been most positive in EVERY area of this establishment. I cannot speak highly enough about it and can honestly say I have never had any cause for complaint in the four years that my sister has been a resident there. The 'old building' has recently been replaced by a completely new ultra modern building which has to be seen to be believed. It is bright, spacious and extremely user friendly for all who live there. The whole ethos of care, respect, patience, justice, compassion and genuine love is tangible to all, as is the hospitality shown to all who visit this care home.

I have been a resident for three months. I find it a place very true to its mam of being a genuine care home. My ethos of the place is wonderful. The staff are excellent; kind, patient, understanding, are of residents needs, anticipating their wants. Everyone here seems to put into practice the life of the love of your fellow human being.

Nazereth House provides a first class service to my mother and has done so since she went into Nazereth House at the beginning of this year. All the staff I've met so far have been extremely nice, professional and very attentive to my mother's needs. My mother herself has said that she couldn't have found anywhere else that could be better than Nazereth House. Overall, extremely pleased.

Overall I am satisfied that my mother is looked after with care and concern. I do feel however that there are areas that need more effort applied. The laundry staff need to be more aware of residents instructions regarding clothes care as we have had a few garments ruined. The management have addressed this problem so hopefully this may now be rectified.
The home has been without an activities coordinator for a long period, again a new member of staff has just been appointed so this is an improvement, feel that my mother needs to be occupied and stimulated more.
The garden is very poor and needs attention, as an outdoor space is essential to well being and would encourage residents to go outside in good weather.

I would like to say that the staff I have contact with have been kind and caring to my mother and me.

Mum has been at the care home for more than 2 years. She is 90 years old and her mobility has improved greatly. All staff from management, sisters, carers, domestics, kitchen and even maintenance staff call mum by her first name. Food is from a choice menu and always looks very appetizing. Good parking and outside sitting areas.

The care home is spotless and fresh at all times. The staff are exceptionally kind and pleasant and make every effort to engage residents in activities of a varied nature. On every occasion when I visit there will be music or singing or dancing somewhere in the home and frequently I see staff engaging residents in conversation. The rooms are beautifully furnished and my friend who is unable to care for himself because of a stroke is always very dapper and well turned out. My mother was in care towards the end of her life and I have seen many care homes. This one must surely be one of the very best
