After spending twelve weeks in hospital and moving into the care home and not going back to her own house, my mother settled in well due to the friendly and helpful staff who made her feel very welcome.

My father has received exemplary care in Glennie House over the last 2 years. He is as happy as he could be and this is undoubtedly due to the superb, caring attitude of the staff. Recent visits have been so well organised and the staff go out of their way to facilitate visiting. I was really fortunate
to take my dad out to the local pub on my last visit! I and the rest of the family are extremely happy with the care my father is given in Glennie House.

I'm always delighted with the care and attention my dad receives. The staff team have stayed very much the same in 2 years so dad knows them and has a good rapport. They always show time and patience. They have adhered strictly to Covid regulations as far as I can see and yet encourage visits with the
guidelines as much as possible.

When my mother was admitted to Glennie House Care Home. She was very frail having two replacement hips and other medical issues. With the dedication and knowledge of all the staff she is getting on as well as we can expect. She is very content and happy (a few small issues) but if mother had not gone
to Glennie Court Care Home things would have been a lot different. Thank you to all dedicated staff.

I cannot say a lot as my husband was admitted in April 2021 and due to covid, I have only visited inside on a few occasions. Saying that the staff have been nice very helpful and very obliging, I have not been seen sitting areas or dining areas so can't comment on these. My husband is content and seems
happy. He has put on some needed weight so must like the food. I am happy with the care he is getting.

I have never found fault in any way, except for meals which I have not sampled but reported to be inedible at times. The care from carers and nursing staff are excellent. In this time of coronavirus, I have no complaints as each and everyone keeps the room clean after each visit. Thank you for keeping
my mum safe.

I am very happy with the care my mum receives at Glennie House. I find the staff extremely caring and helpful. They are always on the ball if she needs the doctor. I would like to say I am pleased and feel I don't need to worry knowing she is getting very good care. Thank you Glennie House.

My mother has an excellent relationship with all the staff, which makes her stay at Glennie more bearable in her old age. I couldn't think of a better place for her to be in her later years. Although the food is normally adequate, sometimes it is not up to standard. If the food could be improved it
would make a huge difference.

The care home and the care of my mother aged 101 receives is brilliant and the staff always go that extra mile for them. The only two things I find fault with is the lack of fresh vegetables in the menu and more activities is needed during the day rather than watching TV.

The review was attended by a senior carer and care practitioner. They both put me at ease and told me that this was my opportunity to raise any issues. We had a chat, and I raised some issues. Since arriving at the home, the nurses and carers have been wonderful looking after and entertaining Mum. They
also keep us informed of her well being.

I feel the standards in the home has fallen. There doesn't seem to be enough staff. Those who are there, do excellent work and give attention as soon as they can. The staff are exceedingly pleasant and helpful and are always friendly.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.837)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.837) out of 10 for Glennie House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.837 for Glennie House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (193 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 227 Ratings = 4.837
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Glennie House Care Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
