Glennie House Care Home

Once concern - security of people's belongings as those with cognitive impairments as they enter other's rooms.

I feel the standards in the home has fallen. There doesn't seem to be enough staff. Those who are there, do excellent work and give attention as soon as they can. The staff are exceedingly pleasant and helpful and are always friendly.

Over eight months, I visited my friend and could not find fault with the care my friend received in Glennie House Care Home.

Staff are very caring and friendly they make time for both residents and family.

Teething problems at first, but all good. Support is good.

Having been a resident to put my mum in care and I am glad I have. I am able to get to work and not worry about her. She is cared for but still encouraged her independence as able. Mum loves it they take her out and she enjoys the entertainment and gets loads of food. Nice garden area.

It would be unfair to mention some staff and not others but all were very professional, absolutely superb. I was kept fully up to date, despite living in the East Midlands. In the last few days of mum's life, the staff were simply brilliant, loving and very caring, not only to mum but to my brother and I. Thank you so much.

From our initial meeting with the Manager and staff of Glennie House and seeing around the care home I felt confident that my Mum would be well cared for. The staff have a friendly yet professional approach to residents and visitors. All of the staff have been welcoming and that kind, open approach has helped our Mum settle into Glennie House. Mum has been treated as an individual and her views are listened to. Thank you. I feel our Mum is very well cared for.

My friend passed away recently in Glennie House, having been a resident there for just over a year. It was a great comfort to know that she was being well looked after and that the care was tailored to her specific individual needs. She settled amazingly well and felt that she was “among friends”. When it came to her final days, she was given the appropriate end of life care which was delivered in a loving, caring and sensitive way. The staff were brilliant during this time - her close family, and myself as a close friend, were looked after in ways far beyond the call of duty - we were given meals, a room to rest in and endless cups of tea. Nothing was too much bother and the care and empathy that was shown to us brought comfort and help to us at such a sad time. I am grateful to the staff at Glennie and extremely impressed at the level of care.

Home is of a satisfactory standard. Staff are friendly, access is fine. Food OK, generally reasonable value.

My Dear Wife has always been cared for with compassion and empathy for her condition. I have always found all staff to be personally supportive and approachable at all times. Whilst it is never easy to consider care for our loved ones, I can honestly say that from our first visit, I have been reassured of the care given by all of the Glennie House staff. I cannot think of the right words other than an unconditional Thank You to all staff for their continuing care.

I visited the home as a member of the church before my uncle became a resident.

I feel since he became a resident, the home has improved in all aspects of care. It is clean and well kept. Staff are always helpful and committed to the care of residents.

I live in London but would be happy to suggest anyone local to come and see Glennie House.

Dad's room is always kept clean and the staff are always friendly and keen to help. We would obviously have been happier if he had been able to stay in his home, but he definitely needed the extra help and has settled in well. I feel Glennie House has been a good choice and caters for Dad's needs well.

The Glennie House Care Home is a very pleasant home. The atmosphere within the home is good with a nice happy feeling from the staff who are always there to help or offer assistance and advice.

She loves the meals and always seems to have a cake or two during the day. All in all very happy with Glennie House and the care staff are so kind and gentle with gran.

No complaints. Mum is well looked after by friendly and attentive staff. Facilities are well presented and rooms are clean and maintained. Mum is involved in activities as she wants to be and additional services like hairdressers are easily arranged.

Unfortunately, after suffering a stroke I was unable to return home. After consultation with my family and care team the decision was, I required 24hr care. Glennis House was our first choice due to the home being in my home town, easier for family and friends to keep in touch. The arrangements were made quickly and efficiently and while it is not ideal (as I would rather have returned home) I am settled and content within the home.

Although my mothers stay was very short we cannot praise all staff enough for their support and assistance. During her short stay, we would have no reservations in recommending Glennie House to anyone.

This is a very good home. Staff are very good in all ways, they are very helpful. I would recommend this home to anyone.
