Wheelchair access is available throughout. A restaurant standard kitchen provides freshly prepared meals tailored to the residents’ preferences and needs.
The care manager is experienced and is qualified as a general nurse. The home offers excellent training and support to the care team to allow them to take care of the varied needs of residents, from specialist support to general assistance with everyday activities, while also respecting the residents’ need to live independent and dignified lives. The home also offers training, information and support to the relatives of residents to help them better understand the treatment and care requirements of their loved-one.
The home benefits from having built good relationships with the local council, GPs, physiotherapists, district nurses, social workers and other visiting healthcare professionals.
The Activities Coordinators at Glennie House provide a full programme of activities, entertainment and events for residents to choose from. The home maintains strong community links and access to a mini bus means that residents can enjoy day trips out.

I am very happy with the care that is given by Glennie House. The staff and management go far beyond what they need and require to do and I have no complaint about them. My only complaint is that fresh fruit is not included in the monthly cost.

She has good days and not so good days adapting to care home care. She does not have dementia and I think that is what is difficult to accept with many of the other residents as they wander about and enter her room where she wants some privacy....

All the staff and management have been great with her. We can see that all the staff are very busy as they clearly are down on staff numbers, but they are great and very cheery, mum's not very sociable right now due to UTI issues and experiencing discomfort. Nurses are great. Food is good. No complaints really. Well done Glennie.

The care home staff do their best to meet the needs of residents. They listen to complaints and try to improve their practice where possible. Retention of staff is problematic. Staff are generally cheerful and friendly. Management and administration are approachable and receptive.

The carers dont communicate enough with relatives. Washing residents clothes is a shambles. My husbands clothes were always going missing and still is. I take them home now.

As a family, we had no idea how to approach or organise anything concerning care homes but the staff at Glennie House were just so helpful and friendly. My dad's stay was comfortable and he enjoyed the company of the staff and the food! The respite care provided the 24-hour care that Dad needed at that time. Nothing is too much trouble at Glennie House and the minute we walked through the door we felt welcome and relaxed. A very positive experience. Thank you.
