My mum was transferred to Lakeside after being in hospital for a long period and the difference in her since she moved is great. She is up, washed and dressed every day, she is eating so much more, the food is fresh and lots of choice so my mum is eating more. The management have been great and have kept us informed of everything the whole time and have been very reassuring, the staff are lovely and take good care of her, my mum is happy to be there taking into account she is not ready for home yet which she understands. As a family , we are relaxed knowing she is being well taken off, we can go in anytime , day or night.
Thank you so much for your kind review. I am very glad that your Mum is feeling better, is regaining her appetite and that the family feel re-assured that Mum is being well looked after. Its very important for us to receive feedback from family, loved ones, and residents, as it allows us to see what we are doing well, and what areas where we need to improve.
Andy you have no idea how much help you have been to the three of us and your staff have helped with kindness and thoroughness.
A very big and special thank you
It really was my honour to meet with your father, and an absolute pleasure to be involved in getting your Dad home to Jersey.
Jersey men, and women, who have such visceral memories, and lived...
We can eat with mum in the dinning area and visiting times are relaxed .
A well run establishment
Thank you very much for your kind review, and I am really glad to hear that you Mum, and the family, are very happy. I am also very pleased to hear that you have enjoyed spending time with Mum at meals, this is something we really encourage as it gives families and residents quality time with each other.
My father has been at Lakeside Care Home for 6 months, and he is very happy there. Before he moved, he was isolated in his home; now he has many social interactions every day. The care team are all friendly and efficient, and Andy the manager is very involved with all aspects of Lakeside's day-to-day running. I have found everyone to be responsive and very welcoming.
Detailed reviews really help us to focus on maintaining standards where we are doing well, and to look at how we can improve in areas where we are not.
Kindest regards,
From all the team at Lakeside
Mum has settled in well over the year and I am confident she is being cared for, Andy the manager and all his team are always on hand should I have any queries and they have built a lovely atmosphere in the care home. Overall I feel mum is in safe and caring hands with Andy and his team.
We will...
My Aunt has her own landline in her room and often when carers/cleaners move the bed, the telephone jack point is damaged resulting in a call-out, and her loss of telephone usage.
Carers and staff are very nice, and from my own experience of the food, it is good and well presented.
There is still often a "smell" in the corridor leading to her room.
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review regarding our Lakeside Care Home. We're sorry to read of your concerns and grateful you've shared these with us. On speaking with the home we understand that the staff have been spoken to in relation to being more careful when cleaning your aunts...
My dad was only in Lakeside for a couple of weeks respite so we had a fairly limited experience. Andy and the team welcomed him and made his transfer in to the home from hospital easy. The staff were great with him and really tried to help him in very difficult circumstances.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback, it does mean a lot to the team at Lakeside Care Home. I am always please to hear positive comments about staff, and will ensure that they are aware of the feedback.
The care, empathy and compassion towards residents and visitors shown by Andy the Manager is very reassuring, knowing that he is at the helm is very reassuring that your loved ones will be cared for and nothing seems to much trouble. Staff are very welcoming and attentive when needed. The day room is very spacious with some activities. The dinning area is very well laid out giving a restaurant atmosphere which feels very nice for residents to enjoy. The tea and coffee facilities for visitors is also very welcoming.
Thank you very much for your feedback which is very important to us. We endeavour to reach high quality standards, and learn from the feedback we receive.
Smile. Dad has settled in and is being very well looked after and he is enjoying the food and view of the large pond from his balcony. The staff from top to bottom are very caring and will support all the family as best they can. All in all we are very happy for dad to be at Lakeside.
Thank you for your review. We are committed to providing a quality service, therefore appreciate all the feedback we receive.
Each staff member is always happy to assist and go above and beyond.
Thank you so much for your review, we value your feedback. We will endeavour to improve our standards and learn from our residents (and their loved ones), to ensure that the residents needs are met at all times.
I am a brother-in-law and I look after her affairs and I think she is well looked after and I know she is going good and some days she ok some days she not and I know she loves guests and thats alright by me.
Thank you so much for your review. It is good to hear that your sister in law is being well looked after. We take feedback very seriously in order to drive through improvements, and improve the delivery of care to everyone who lives at Lakeside.
Mum has now moved into a room with a sunshade. She can now see out of the windows without feeling hot because of the sun beaming in. Mum now speaks more, commenting on the trees, birds, lake, weather and so on. It has made a huge difference to see the outside world. So thank you to the manager. Barchester, please spend money on sun shades, it'd make a difference to residents well being. Also, please provide summer uniforms to carers, hot and bothered staff results in lack of patience.
Thank you for your comprehensive feedback. I am glad that the changes we have made have had a positive impact. Barchester are very receptive to feedback, and I will ensure that this feedback is directed through the appropriate channels.
Sometimes things fall a bit flat when there are staff shortages (which is often) and for instance the bus on a Wednesday cannot go because there is no carer available to accompany the driver. This needs greater monitoring as my parents look forward to this.
2-3 members of the team stand out & are extremely attentive & understanding, another member is totally not suitable for the job & quite rude at times!
Thank you for your very honest review, we appreciate your input and value your perspective. I am very happy to report that we have full staffing numbers now, having had a very successful recruitment drive over that last two months. We will continue to work with you to ensure we act on feedback and...
My gran has been with Barchester Lakeside Care Home for nearly two years now and we love it here. She is so much happier in herself and everyone here is so friendly and really makes us feel part of the family.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I am so happy to hear that your grandmother is enjoying life at Lakeside, and appreciate that you and your family can share your grandmothers positive experience with us.
I find all staff friendly, professional and informative. Even though they are very busy they will always acknowledge you and have a brief chat. My father is not always keen on the entertainment but staff encourage him to join in. I have no serious concerns with the treatment or well-being of my dad in Lakeside Care Home.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We endeavour to maintain high quality of care for all of our residents, therefore feedback from relatives and friends, in addition to our residents, is essential. I wish you and your family a very happy New Year.
My sister has been at Barchester Lakeside Care Home for about five years and is very happy.
Thank you for your review of Lakeside, I am very happy to hear that your sister is being cared for. I hope we can continue to provide this level of care and very much appreciate your feedback.
Mam is very well looked after and all the staff are loving and considerate towards Mum. Mum has dementia and the staff are able to interact with her and to get responses from her in ways that I cannot. I know that Mum is in a safe, caring and friendly environment which is of great comfort to me and my family. Mum is unable to join in most activities but when she is able to I am sure she appreciates them.
I am very pleased to hear that your mum is being well looked after at Lakeside. Your feedback is very important to us as it helps us to explore ways that we can improve on delivering care to your mum.
The staff are all very kind and patient with Mum. She has a lovely room with a view over the lake and she is happy, content and well looked after.
They always communicate with us and let us know if there is anything we need to be informed about.
The manager is fantastic. He took so much time to help, advise and reassure us with Mum's move. It is very obvious that he cares very much about the residents and their well-being.
Mum enjoys the meals in the lovely dining room and there is always some kind of activity for her to join in with if she wants company.
We really appreciate that we can visit Mum at any time and that we are able to take our little dog, Betty, in to see her too.
Mum is so much better since she has been at Lakeside and we have no worries about her care or well-being.
Thank you for your review of Lakeside Care Home. We are delighted that your mum is enjoying living with us and that she is receiving the best possible care. Please do continue to give us feedback as it is vital that we listen to our residents and their loved ones and that we respond quickly to any issues.
I am fairly happy with Barchester Lakeside Care Home and am very new to home services. The manager is exceptional, very caring and tries his hardest to keep my mum comfortable. The staff are very friendly, it has taken some time for Mum to adjust but she's doing better now. Overall, I feel my mum has good care, she's in a safe place, so far, so good.
Thank you for your review on Barchester Lakeside Care Home. We hope we can continue to provide the very best care for your mum and your feedback is essential to achieving this.
The manager would regularly take my husband to golf, which he really enjoyed and also allowed my husband to join him in the office, which would remind my husband of past times.
The staff interact with my husband at his level, which is always appreciated and that gives me great comfort that I know he is being treated so well.
When there were incidents, the staff were always very attentive and informative, and were quick to inform the family of the situation and the outcomes.
Whilst my husbands stay there was only short due to his needs, we are so incredibly grateful for the support that the manager and the wider team gave to not only my husband, but the wider family.
It is our pleasure at Lakeside to have the opportunity to look after such a wonderful person. I wish you all the very best and look forward to visits in the future.
