Barchester Lakeside Care Home

I've been a qualified mental health and general health nurse for over 35 years, in various clinical health settings. I started off as a Healthcare Assistant in a care home and feel that I have 'come home' to work in Lakeside. I am totally committed to making sure you or your loved one experience nothing but the very best of care within a 5-star setting.

Shona Muir is an NHS (Scotland) trained nurse, specialising in ITU and critical care where she excelled and managed a busy ITU as a ward sister. Since relocating to Jersey in 2023, Shona has worked as a clinical lead in older adult care. Shona is currently the clinical lead at Lakeside and has made a huge impact on the clinical care delivery, the training and education for staff, and building and maintaining the team at Lakeside.

Gio is a very experienced administrator having worked in the care sector over many years. She is very hands-on and makes herself known to the residents and their families from the outset.

Gio is also our 'Tell Barchester' champion.

What can we say about our Head Chef? In an area which is very hard to recruit to in Jersey, Petros is a rock of reliability.

Petros thrives on feedback and is constantly checking in with residents to ensure they receive the very best 'cuisine' which he provides.

Lindi is an experienced clinical nurse and a skilled, compassionate healthcare professional who combines rigorous clinical experience with genuine empathy.

Lindi, originally from South Africa, is a critical thinker at the bedside, adept at assessing residents' needs, administering treatments accurately, and advocating for the best possible outcomes for residents and families.

My name is Bobby, and I have the great privilege of working at Lakeside Care Home as the Activities Coordinator.

My job is fun and very rewarding – and I love it! I regularly invite musicians, artists, bell ringers, gardeners, chefs, and various other entertainers into the home to bring joy to the lives of residents who are living here.

Jane is a skilled, and very well respected, front house and admin assistant. Put simply, Jane is the glue that holds everything together, a real organizer and the person central to keeping everyone and everything running smoothly. If anything goes wrong, ask Jane! If everything goes right, it's probably because you asked Jane!

My name is Lina, and I have been a carer here at Lakeside for the last 18 years. I am originally from Portugal and enjoy living in Jersey.

I support the nurses to settle in new residents, I assist with completing essential assessments, I lead the health care assistants and ensure that new recruits are supported.

My name is Michael, and I have been working for Barchester at Lakeside Care Home for 13 years.

I am a Senior Carer on the residential floor of this home. I help residents with their day-to-day activities of daily living, where sometimes they need assistance with some of the tasks we take for granted.

I enjoy working with families, GPs, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the health and well-being of my residents.

Lucy is from the island of Jersey and is very proud to work with the residents at Lakeside. Lucy shows up to work not just with skills, but with a warm heart and a willingness to help everyone in her care. Lucy is a kind, dependable, and attentive carer committed to providing personalised care.

Mark joined Lakeside initially as a maintenance assistant, but quickly became the Head of Maintenance for the home. Before joining Lakeside, Mar was a motorcycle mechanic, therefore is of a technical and mechanical background. Mark is fastidious and likes to approach problems in a problem-solving manner, a necessity when working with various systems.
Mark embodies the Barchester 'whole home approach' and will very happily make a cup of tea for a resident, sit with them, and talk about everything from farming to riding motorcycles across the continent.

All of the residents know Mark by name and will ask him directly for help, as they know he will respond immediately.
