The Kensington offers residential, nursing, dementia, respite, post-operative and palliative care.

This large, elegantly converted Victorian terraced house is situated in an attractive residential area just north of Holland Park Avenue. The building retains many original architectural features and the layout has a relaxed, homely atmosphere. The home is surrounded by beautiful grounds.

All bedrooms are en-suite and are fully air-conditioned, and several ground floor bedrooms have garden access and private patios. A hostess service is also offered to give residents a truly personal service.

The home has beautiful gardens, in a very peaceful and tranquil environment that would make it hard to realise the home is in the heart of London.

At The Kensington, staff take great care to focus on the person. It’s important for residents to feel at home, a friendly environment has been created with an individually appropriate balance of care and independence.

At mealtimes, residents can choose to eat in one of many dining rooms, including the conservatory-style dining room, or in the comfort of the bedroom if preferred. Soon after a resident arrives at The Kensington, staff discuss personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

There’s a real sense of community at The Kensington. Staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. So whether the loved one already has a hobby or would like to take up a new one, there are lots of exciting activities to get involved in.

The Kensington Care Home has exceeded my expectations in relation to convalescent elderly care. As a health professional myself, I am aware of the need for facilities like this for those recovering from surgery or in need of care in their older age. The facilities are excellent in every way. My brother is a stroke victim who has been cared for with great sensitivity, tremendous patience and medical expertise (wonderful, senior nurses) for the past five years.
During this time, I too had cause to avail myself of the Kensington facilities, convalescing for three weeks following a lobectomy
procedure. The kindness of the staff along with the gentle atmosphere, not least in the tranquil and lovely garden, did wonders in accelerating my healing process. I love the place.

I confine myself to my room which is very pleasant. The rest of the home is equally nice but I do not use it. The staff, nurses and the gardener are particularly pleasant. Altogether, if I could have more of my things, books, records and ornaments etc here, I'd be happy to live here.

My aunt has been in the Kensington for several years and each time I've visited, I've been impressed with the kindness, intelligence and capabilities of the staff.

I am extremely pleased with all aspects of Bupa. I live in New York City and I can rest assured that my grandfather is getting the care he needs. He has delicious food (and they care for his dietary preferences), he is helped with bathing, he is taken for walks outside in the gorgeous garden. The staff

My friend has been a resident for several years following a stroke. He has always seemed very positive and cheerful about his circumstances. At first he did not appear to be receiving much benefit from physio etc, but recently he has become much more active and responsive.

The entertainment that is put on by the girls is fantastic for the residents. They all put a lot of effort into it, especially one staff member in particular, she is very enthusiastic. It is so lovely to see my client's husband joining in with singing. Also, my client enjoys the activities. As a carer

The Kensington was chosen as it is very local to my sister's former home in Notting Hill Gate. Despite a total refurbishment with residents still in situ, the home has continued to function very well under extreme difficulty. The staff at all levels are genuine, caring, loving and approachable people
who take a real interest in the welfare of all in their care. I have total confidence in keeping my sister in their charge.

I did not have any medical care but my convalescence care after hospital was very good and extremely friendly.


One great disadvantage is the lack of a residents' sitting room. If you are reasonably mobile, you are confined to your bedroom.


The garden is lovely with interesting plants.

My mother has been a resident at The Kensington Care Home since 2011.
The quality of care during these past 6 years has not been consistent and even sorely lacking at times. However, I wish to highlight that the quality of my mother's care has significantly improved since the new management was appointed
on the 2nd floor in Summer 2017. Over the past 6 months, I have seen my mother's care become much more person-centred and tailored to her needs. I believe the efforts of the current 2nd-floor staff should be commended.

I have had a positive experience visiting my husband, observing how the staff treat the residents.
My one question concerns his clothing, he sometimes is wearing clothing I have not seen before. Things seem to get mixed up in the laundry.
It seems clothing is changed every day. If an article is not
soiled can it not be worn for a few days?
Several articles, underwear, pyjamas are not in his room. Can they all be in the laundry?

We feel at home and that we have landed on our feet since being here at The Kensington.
The staff are all excellent from the management all the way to the housekeeping team.
Staff here do not just work here for the sake of it, they are genuine and work from the heart and they are very caring.
The
only thing to bring to the attention is the cutlery, although they are washed they are not completely clean and dry.
