We had tried it out for a week beforehand and were so encouraged that he was very happy to return for two weeks' respite.
He found being there very relaxing and the friendly approach made him feel very comfortable.
He had an excellent room and the home is in a great location within easy reach of cafes and shops (and good pubs if you want to take visitors for lunch).
There is also a lovely garden for sunny days. The staff became good friends and an efficient call system operates when the need arises.
The management is informal and friendly.
Knowing he was so comfortable and well cared for certainly enabled me to enjoy my holiday to the full.
He will be very happy to stay there again.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your husband in our care. We hope to see you soon.
From the moment my mother arrived at The Kensington, she was made to feel safe, cared for and comfortable. The staff are all wonderful and make me always feel welcome. I feel I can always talk to anyone if I have any questions, even if I'm feeling sad. They take the time to talk I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home. The manager and team are excellent.

My son and I just looked inside the front door and were taken to look at the garden which is lovely. I wish I had been here September/October instead of November/December.

I came for post-op respite. The nursing was excellent and I had the chance for some rest before going home. Thank you to all.

The Kensington Care Home has exceeded my expectations in relation to convalescent elderly care. As a health professional myself, I am aware of the need for facilities like this for those recovering from surgery or in need of care in their older age. The facilities are excellent in every way. The gardens are relaxed and attractive. The staff and food are outstanding. Home away from home. Thank you.

During this time, I too had cause to avail myself of the Kensington facilities, convalescing for three weeks following a lobectomy procedure. The kindness of the staff along with the gentle atmosphere, not least in the tranquil and lovely garden, did wonders in accelerating my healing process. I love the place.

I confine myself to my room which is very pleasant. The rest of the home is equally nice but I do not use it. The staff, nurses and the gardener are particularly pleasant. Altogether, if I could have more of my things, books, records and ornaments etc here, I'd be happy to live here.

I am extremely pleased with all aspects of Bupa. I live in New York City and I can rest assured that my grandfather is getting the care he needs. He has delicious food (and they care for his dietary preferences), he is helped with bathing, he is taken for walks outside in the gorgeous garden. The staff is genuinely caring and supportive. I am very grateful for Bupa The Kensington Care Home.

We appreciate your comments on the food there and glad to hear that the staff are able to cater to his preferences. We are happy that we are able to give you peace of mind,...
My friend has been a resident for several years following a stroke. He has always seemed very positive and cheerful about his circumstances. At first he did not appear to be receiving much benefit from physio etc, but recently he has become much more active and responsive.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your comments and glad that your friend is responding to the physiotherapy and becoming more active. We will pass on your comments on to the care home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
The entertainment that is put on by the girls is fantastic for the residents. They all put a lot of effort into it, especially one staff member in particular, she is very enthusiastic. It is so lovely to see my client's husband joining in with singing. Also, my client enjoys the activities. As a carer myself, I appreciate what a great job all the staff do. They are all very caring.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that your clients are enjoying the activities put on in the home and appreciate your comments of our staff. We will share your review with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.

Very happy. Charming staff, nothing too much trouble. Good service. Food Ok.
Thank you for your review. I am pleased to hear that you are enjoying staying at The Kensington!
The Kensington was chosen as it is very local to my sister's former home in Notting Hill Gate. Despite a total refurbishment with residents still in situ, the home has continued to function very well under extreme difficulty. The staff at all levels are genuine, caring, loving and approachable people who take a real interest in the welfare of all in their care. I have total confidence in keeping my sister in their charge.
Thank you for your review and kind words about our home and staff. You must have peace of mind knowing that your sister is well cared for.
I did not have any medical care but my convalescence care after hospital was very good and extremely friendly.
One great disadvantage is the lack of a residents' sitting room. If you are reasonably mobile, you are confined to your bedroom.
The garden is lovely with interesting plants.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
