Food is cooked freshly on site by the in-house chefs and meals are served either in the spacious dining room, within each wing, or the residents’ own room as preferred.
The home boasts a reminiscence room, a hairdressing salon, a sensory room, 2 private gardens and its own cinema and a residents' pub.
St Mary's runs a varied activities programme for the residents, managed by two coordinators, using the courtyard and garden when the weather is good.
Established in 1931, initially to care for nuns from the adjacent church of the English Martyrs, some of the walls of which form part of the much-extended home, St Mary’s has a beautiful private chapel for services and private prayers.

My Mum Marie was a resident for over 5 years. The care and love she received was absolutely amazing. The staff, the facilities, just everything about St Mary's I cannot find a fault. Mum was in her bed all the time through her paralysis but she did not have one bed sore or water infection or anything in over 5 years due to the attentive care of the staff and top class cleanliness of the home. 5 stars is not enough for these guys I'm just so grateful to every single one of them It's daunting having to consider care for a relative and scary when something is so new, but they will be so well looked after. They welcome in family and friends to visit and it's like one big happy family. I cannot thank St Mary's enough for looking after my Mum

I think St Mary's Care home is a very welcoming and friendly home. A family member was fortunately placed here by the NHS, and will hopefully stay long term. During his four month stay, he has received the highest levels of care and support.
I have visited on different days of the week and there is always a happy feel about the place; it feels like a home and staff and residents like extended family.
All the staff are positive, happy and engage personally with the residents during quiet times and while undertaking daily activities, exercise or at snack-time, treating them with dignity and respect.
It is so lovely having the chapel on-site for regular Mass attendance. Socially, the visiting singer is very popular and boosts everyone's feel good factor.
Cleanliness is excellent and management are visible.

My partner was transferred to St Mary's Care Home from hospital for palliative care following a severe stroke. St Mary's staff, both nursing and administrative, made him, and me very welcome and have provided expert, pro-active and friendly care ever since. As a result my partner is enjoy as good a quality of life as is possible in the circumstances about eighteen months after admission. I am kept fully informed of any changes in his condition and we are both involved in treatment decisions. His light and sunny room is kept spotlessly clean. I visit regularly and am always made welcome.

My sister, Heather was only in the Home for around a month, but during that time I have nothing but praise for every member of staff and the set up of the Home from first meeting the Placement Officer to each of the Carers. Staff were readily available to cater for my sister's needs and were always happy to take on board suggestions, for example turning meals into Puree form when eating became a struggle. Moreover staff were not only attentive to my sister but also towards guests who came to visit in her final weeks and days. I am most grateful for this as was my sister. I always received updates on her condition and was able to be with her for her final hours, which is very much appreciated. The accommodation provided to my sister was excellent and I would rate St Mary's 10/10.

My Mother has settled into St Mary's, as if she's been there for years and it's only been a week! I cannot sing the praises of all the staff enough, everyone goes above and beyond the call of duty. From the initial viewing and being shown around, I knew we didn't need to look at any further homes, even though this was the first one we'd been to see. It was such an easy decision and the whole transition from start to finish took place within 3 days. In such a short space of time, I've watched my Mother regain her confidence and shine AGAIN, which I never thought would be possible after being housebound for 3 1/2 years. I'm so grateful and thankful to each and everyone of the 'AMAZING' team and know things can only go from strength to strength.
I would definitely 100% highly recommend this awesome care home, without any hesitation, it's second to none!

St Mary's Care Home is a truly wonderful care home, everyone that works here from the domestic staff, housekeeping, carers all the way up to management and the owners of St Mary's are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and the staff go above and beyond to make sure all residents are happy and content and I am so grateful that due to the level of care I have received from day one I have got my lif back and for the first time in 18 years I feel positive about the future and that is 100% down to the care St Mary's provide to all residents. It is an amazing care home.

She looks far better than she did previously and has put on weight, something I was unable to achieve at home whilst she lived with me. She has become more responsive and aware, curious about what is happening around her. The staff have been wonderful, professional, courteous, friendly and always cheerful whenever I have been to visit my mum. My 96 year old mom needs 24/7 residential care for both her dementia and daily care needs. Having spent some respite care in some, we feel we are very very fortunate to have managed to secure a spot for her on a long term basis at St Mary's. The placement officer was our first point of contact. Super helpful, caring and knowledgeable about the needs of individuals who are senior and suffer with dementia. She took time to try and match mom with the most suitable room in the home. Mom is very happily settled after a few weeks. The team at St Mary's are quite incredible. Kind, always cheerful and pro-active. From admin, to clinical and maintenance staff members. Absolutely everyone made us feel so welcome. Including Bunty, a gorgeous Staffy that visits on occasion. Mom loves the gardens which are in full bloom at the moment, and enjoys the live singing sessions and vintage movie screenings. Mass twice a week in the on site chapel is what she cherishes the most though. Thank you St Mary's!

My relative moved into St Mary's just before Christmas 2024. On her very first visit she metaphorically 'put her slippers on' at Adam's afternoon music session. She walked straight in, started singing and dancing and immediately introduced herself to the other residents. St Mary's is a perfect fir for her.
Since then she has settled nicely and become much healthier with all her needs looked after. The whole team are fabulous, keeping me informed and included in all the key decisions knowing that I live some distance from the care home, making visiting much trickier. When I need to phone for any reason, I am always greeted with a cheery and responsive outcome. Nothing is too much trouble. It is very reassuring to know that she is settled and well looked after. I/We couldn't ask for more.

What has impressed me is that the staff are respectful and include her in activities such as putting up decorations. The minute you step through the beautiful reception area it feels like you're in a first class hotel (but with better security). Next thing you notice is warmth and positive energy and that comes from the staff. Every staff member we encounter is smiling and not just for me. The staff actually enjoy their job and being with the residents who are relaxed and happy. So many homes I've visited look like glorified hospital wings but St Mary's clearly thought about the layout of the place and the importance of social space. It even smells positive which reflects the good cleanliness and mindfulness there.

My wife has been a resident since February 2024 at St Marys. The staff including carers, nurses and management are all very friendly and very professional, it's a very relaxed atmosphere and all the staff are approachable if you have any questions. The decor and rooms are adequate with light colours giving a calming feeling.
