Carrick House Nursing Home

I'm very happy about how my father is being cared for here. Without the home's care, he wouldn't be able to survive. Thank you very much for all!

I have always found the staff and the services they provide to be excellent and always keep us informed of my brother's health. I would thoroughly recommend Carrick House as a great place for both short and long term stays

He was in Carrick House for nearly four years and was very well cared for during his time there. The staff were always so pleasant and supportive, especially during Covid when he had very few visitors. As a bachelor, he had no immediate family living near, so we were all so pleased with the care that he got from everyone here, and I know that he was very thankful for everything.

Outstanding care provided by an excellent team, devoted to making a safe environment to the benefit of all patients. Their care preserved my brother's life as long as possible under very demanding circumstances.

Mum spent her last six years here and I can't rate the staff or the care she received highly enough. My thanks to them for all their hard work.

I have been visiting a resident since October 2021 who sadly died on 25th December. At every visit, I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the warm care they gave all the residents.

From the first day of my wife being at the home, was well looked after until she was taken to the hospital and she passed away on the 2nd December 2021.

We are happy with everything - staff are lovely and Mum is very settled. She is clean and well cared for. The staff know Mum very well and really look after her - nothing is too much trouble. Due to Covid, it was difficult to comment on her room. We are not able to comment on value for money.

Right from the start of my father's admission to Carrick House, every single member of staff has been very helpful and understanding. They should all be commended for their dedication. Special thanks to the manager.

Since organising for Dad to stay at Carrick House, I have felt completely satisfied that he is being looked after and cared for and am able to leave him there with complete confidence.

I am happy with the arrangements made, everyone. It very easy, step by step. All the staff are willing to listen and address our concerns were possible. All the nurses as well as the tissue viability nurser have explained and kept me up to date with my aunt's progress. Maybe, just a not to bear in mind; the place can do with a refurbishment, otherwise 5-stars from the whole family.

I find the home friendly and caring. Any sadness I feel comes from me; wanting to be at home.

This home is perfect for me.

A clean, comfortable home. The staff are excellent, loving, kind, responsive and helpful. I feel there could be more proactive communication, but I am always given details when I ask. Not many activities for residents, but my mum is not in any way able to take advantage of this. Overall a very good, peaceful, calm last home for my mum; thank you.

I came to this home last year 2019. So far, I am happy with the way the manager takes charge of the home, very understanding and helpful. All the staff, nurses look after all the residents making sure we are all safe and there when I need them. I thank the manager and staff for taking care of me. I would recommend family and friends to the Carrick House Nursing Home.

With regret, I have found myself having to leave another (yes another) negative review about this home. My father is a resident at this care home. My mother visits daily and has time and time again complained about residents being left alone in the lounge while ALL of the carers are having a jolly up in the conversatory. They cannot (unless they have X-ray vision and can see through walls) see the residents. Head office are in denial and are oblivious to this. I would not recommend this home, who leaves vulnerable people to fend for themselves in the lounge. People have choked, nearly fallen from chairs., poured drinks over themselves (thankfully not hot tea yet). The home need to wake up and take some responsibility for their inaction to address these concerns of numerous residents. At a recent resident meeting promises where made, nothing has changed. It is an accident waiting to happen.

I stayed at Carrick HouseNursing Home for a week following open heart surgery. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and willingness of staff to assist and help me. The nurses on duty were very professional and carried out their duties with kind words and encouragement. The care assistants were polite and accommodating.The food was plentiful and well cooked. I would recommend Carrick House to anyone looking for post operative care.
