Staff are welcoming. Occasional problems with communication which can be confusing for residents. I have been unable to visit recently due to illness, so feel unable to comment further, although I hear that new activities have been organised and enjoyed by residents.

There is always somebody at the reception during office hours and our senior carers are on each floor 24 hours.

We do have a dedicated wellness coordinator who offers a full range of morning and afternoon activities ranging from quiz games, singalongs and gentle exercise. We also offer bi-weekly bus trips for residents to various places in the local area. Please have a look on our Facebook page as we post a lot of pictures from each activity. We are always open to any suggestions from family and friends on what our residents would like to do.

Initially, when my dad moved as an interim placement resident I was apprehensive but soon after my reservations were put at ease when the friendly and hard-working staff have been super busy, good and have really done their bit in getting him medically optimised and at 92 that's no mean feat, the facilities
are great too.
So now we seemed to have gotten through the winter I'm sure the residents will look forward to some fresh air and trips away from the care home which should further enhance their well-being.
And finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Carter House Care Home for their ongoing great work.

We are also waiting for the weather to become a bit warmer so we can take our residents to enjoy the sunshine in our garden (which as we speak, is having its spring clear out). Excellent care for my mother since she moved to Carter House Care Home. The carers are very good and go out of their way to look after her. They treat her like their own mother. The meals are also very good and my mother appreciates them. Mental boredom and the need for more activities is the only challenge.

Hi,
All appears to be in good order but until recently there was not enough staff around.
I would also have to point out that at weekends it is difficult to get into the building as no one answers the bell - you have to rely on a member of staff passing through and this is not good enough....sometimes
there are overlong waits which are totally unnecessary.

Since Country Court Care took over Carter House Care Home, this home has deteriorated beyond belief. Excellent long-term manager and loyal staff have left or been sacked! Awful company. Don't sign the contracts. Head office doesn't reply to any letters. Country Court all show no substance! They just
want your money! Don't even think of placing a relative at Country Court Home!

Should be someone at the front desk to let visitors in and out. We waited fifteen minutes to be let in! Although on resident's doors there are photos of them - should be numbers on doors too and a clear signpost of numbers.

My mum has called Carter House home for the last two months and it really is ‘home’ from home. Mum settled within the first week as the staff are absolutely incredible, caring, loving and patient. Knowing Mum is here gives me complete reassurance that she’s getting the care and support she needs. I
would highly recommend Carter House and five-stars doesn’t even come close, they go over and beyond! I will forever be in their debt for taking care of Mum. Thanks to the manager, deputy manager, administrator, weekend receptionist, nurse, care assistants and the rest of the team.

The staff at Carter House are all absolutely wonderful. From the moment you walk into the newly refurbished reception area you are greeted by the friendly office staff who immediately make you feel like part of the family.
The carers who look after my mum are amazing, they all have different personalities
and energies but all bring something exceptional to my mum’s care. Their endless enthusiasm, commitment and affection shine through in everything they do. My mum is so well cared for we couldn’t possibly ask for more. Her room is always clean and tidy, she is well-groomed (in-house hairdresser), beautifully dressed every day and extremely well-fed (fresh meals cooked on-site daily).
It’s heartbreaking when your loved one reaches the point where you can’t care for them anymore, but everyone at Carter House has become her extended family and she is very happy there. We cannot recommend them highly enough. Their communication and compassion throughout this pandemic has been outstanding.

My dad resides in the care home because of his frailty and dementia. The staff have been very supportive when meeting his needs. The carers are patient, warm and friendly. They engage well with residents and make themselves available in the communal areas. They are very caring towards him and family
and deal with difficult behaviour appropriately and with humour. I would definitely recommend the home to another family.

The whole team have always been fantastic about the care that they provide and attention to the needs of my mum.

Carter House is a wonderful care home with amazing staff and a lovely friendly atmosphere. My dad settled in quickly and had a happy stay there, he was always kept clean and well looked after. Mum was moved from the house she was born in and lived in for 94 years having been diagnosed with dementia. She was confused, upset and understandably took some time to settle. The care and patience demonstrated by all the staff were unrelenting. It gave the family great peace of mind to see her looking
well dressed and healthy whenever we visited and it was a great comfort to us all when she passed to feel the genuine loss and sadness expressed by all the staff. I cannot thank them enough for looking after Mum in the final years of her life.


I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Carter House as a high quality care home.

When Mum developed dementia and was not able to care for herself, we were at our wit's end having been let down by a care home. I had heard of Carter House Care & Nursing home and knew people who had family members there. I contacted them and they came to visit Mum straight away. We were faced with
moving her from the only home she had ever known for all of her 94 years, into Carter House in April 2018. She passed peacefully last month.
We never thought she would settle anywhere for very long but we are all so grateful and assured that she spent her final years in a most wonderful home with the most caring and loving staff. We cannot thank the manager and her team enough for all they did for Mum. She was loved and cared for every single day and now she has passed, we are all comforted that she spent her final years with such love and dedication... right up to the respect they showed on her final day.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this fine, newly refurbished home and its loving and caring team.

I have always found the staff to be extremely caring and respectful towards my aunt. She is very happy and always smiling. The staff dress her well and with thought. She is well presented whenever I visit.
There is a lovely, caring atmosphere in the home and I am always made to feel welcome.
