My mother has been a resident at Carter House for nearly 2 years. We are very happy with all aspects of her Care. The staff are all friendly, helpful and seem to genuinely care about the residents. The carers, admin team, senior staff and managementwork well together, and are very approachable,...
Mum's room and all the communal areas are kept clean and are comfortable. The meals are cooked onsite, to a high standard. Mum especially enjoys the home-made cakes and desserts! Meals are served by a dedicated front of house team. There is a varied and innovative programme of Activities, adapted for the seasons from enjoying garden time to arts and crafts to singing and exercise. The local GP visits weekly and takes care of Mum's health, consulting myself and the staff to manage her health issues. The staff treat the residents with such kindness and empathy, it is humbling to watch.

A great asset. One staff member in particular is helpful and efficient at handing administration/welfare matters. Carers should be encouraged likewise to engage more closely. Staff shortages are sometimes a problem and clothes go missing!

There is always so much for the residents to do thanks to the activity co-ordinators, who ensure that all residents are included in the various activities. Unlike many other care homes where staff turnover is constant, here at Carter House they have a steady group of staff. Thank you to everyone for making us, as a family, feel confidence in her care.

The whole team makes sure she is included in activities if she wants to participate. I did a lot of research to find a care home that was the right fit for Mum and that I could trust to take care of her. I am particularly impressed with Carter House and the head nurse who has helped Mum since her move, suggesting a different bed and pressure mattress given her falls in her previous home. The food is nutritious and Mum loves the coffee.
