Overall Experience
My uncle aged 94 has now been a resident for 17 months after the manager and her team working closely with the local social worker effectively rescued him after day to day life had become too difficult for him to cope. He is now in much improved health, enjoying the daily companionship and the special activities.
We visit without notice and always find his daily personal needs have been met with chiropody and hairdressing taking place regularly. His room is always kept neat, clean and tidy for him and regular attention is given to medical needs with arrangements in place to ensure doctor and hospital appointments take place, and domiciliary dentist and opticians attend.

Having experienced other residential homes for elderly relatives we have found that Carter House is the best, achieving a homely and friendly atmosphere. After one event my uncle commented “I should have learnt to dance years ago!”. Thank you to all the staff who work hard to keep it that way, it is appreciated.

Overall Experience
My Nan was in Carter House for around four months until July 2016.
She was given a place here after breaking her hip and spending 8 weeks in St Helier Hospital.
I cannot recommend Carter House enough. The staff and care are absolutely fantastic. They cared for my Nan so well. I visited every day and saw the love and care with my own eyes. They would ring us as soon as any problems arose. She had been diagnosed with dementia and would sometimes have a bad day and lash out / try to hurt the staff, but they were so good with her, kept calm & were always completely honest with us about her care.
Even when my Nan was discharged after her 6 weeks stay, she came home and fell within an hour. Knowing it wasn’t safe at home alone, Carter House allowed her back into the home that same evening, even at their expense.

I’m so forever grateful for the care they gave my Nan. She loved her time there and made some lovely friends. I recommend Carter House for exceptional care for loved ones.

Overall Experience
I have been on deck for two months and have had plenty of opportunities to watch how things are done. I have been impressed with the way staff manage difficult residents, staying patient and collected although I am sure the stress levels must have been high.

Even more amazing are the residents themselves on Level 2, who look out for each other and show compassion and support by encouraging each other to participate in the activities and try and communicate with each other.

On activity days, the residents are keen to participate and nothing can beat song, dance (for some!) and music not to mention art or flower decoration. On the whole, the atmosphere is a happy one.
