Our mum moved into Chegworth Nursing Home almost 3 years ago after a major stroke left her paralysed and without speech, it was a huge shock for Mum and her family. Now nearly 3 years later, our mum is thriving under the care and attention from the lovely staff at this home. Before lockdown the family were at the home every day visiting Mum and saw how much all the residents were well cared for, they give a personal touch, a little cuddle goes a long way. Every effort is made to make this feel like a real 'home', not a care home. It's clean, it smells fresh, the food is healthy and well prepared, the garden is lovely and residents are taken into the garden often, weather permitting. During the lockdown, we have been kept well informed of protective measures, and the team have video called all the family regularly so we could still have some contact with mum. Thank you to the management and team.
My husband has been a resident at Chegworth Nursing Home for two months. He was bound to bed with a late-stage brain tumour, receiving his medications by syringe drive. This was a difficult and very demanding condition. The monitoring day and night was impressive. I cannot speak highly enough with regards to the care, support, attention and kindness given to my husband by all staff, whatever their role. And not only to my husband but to my son and me as well as we were all going through this disease together. The house itself and the garden were beautiful with excellent facilities. The cleanliness was impressive, the food was always freshly prepared, tasty and plentiful. The team worked hard to provide a range of activities for the residents. Chegworth is an outstanding care home with an absolutely amazing caring team, who go the extra mile to meet the needs of the residents. Thank you. I would recommend this care home to anyone who wishes to receive the best care for their loved one.
The manager and her team are exceptional, thoughtful and professional throughout my mums time at the home. We as a family are very grateful how well our mum was looked after. The manager kept us informed throughout and was very supportive of our family towards the end of our mother's life. A special mention to one of the carers who our mother always seemed to respond to and took great delight when she was on shift.
Visitors and family are made to feel very welcome when visiting and there is a lovely summer garden party and Christmas party where all are welcomed and a lovely spread provided. My mother in law loves the excellent food provided and there is a very good choice to suit all.
The home is very well managed, very clean and has a lovely homely feel about it. Management and staff are all friendly and approachable.
Thank you to all at Chegworth Nursing Home. Highly recommended.
The carers had her up and dressed every day and took her to the day room to meet other residents, which was a blessing as she was unable to walk at all.
Our first visit was a BBQ party in full force which was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves as we did, so thank you all.
We were greeted by the deputy manager and were treated as family as soon as we arrived. All the staff were friendly and helpful. An excellent home and a brilliant team.
Marks out of 10=10.
The home was a pleasant clean and professional environment. The staff and management treated my mother with compassion and dignity at all times. I and my family were confident that my mother was being cared for in the best possible way. The support was excellent from all the staff and management ever especially until my mother's final days.
My mother needed 24-hour care due to her cancer and other medical issues. Chegworth have provided the most wonderful care in a pleasant and supportive environment. All the staff have been very caring and helpful to my mother and have made her final 6 months happy and rewarding.
All the staff at this care home went out of their way to make the last years of my bed bound Aunt's life as comfortable as possible, tolerating her somewhat ill humour and stubbornness. My grateful thanks to them all.
My mother has been in Chegworth just over 8 months. On our first visit, both my wife and I felt the ambience of a warm and caring home. Soon after my mother became a resident, their annual summer garden party gave us the opportunity to meet nearly all the staff and it was a great success. The manager who runs the home is Chegworth through and through! Nothing is too much trouble. She manages to cope effectively and nothing seems to phase her. All the staff we have dealt with have been helpful and caring with the right disposition. Thoroughly recommend this home.
The set up of the home is well thought, staff are excellent - very engaging. Food is lovely and very pleasant surroundings.
I feel activities could be increased for those residents that need stimulation.
The home is very well run and exceptionally clean.
The only small criticism is there was no entertainment which we have had elsewhere, presumably having television was supposed to take the place of this.
Overall better/good compared to other care homes we looked at 2 years ago.
Sometimes there is no attention to some detail eg no straws in drinks when necessary.
Sometimes subtle changes in condition not noticed, very quickly eg infections - urinary or chest.
Chegworth Nursing Home management is good. The staff are satisfactory.
My mother was resident here from April 2013 to February 2018 when she peacefully passed. The care given was extremely good. The facilities recently upgraded to a high service standard and the staff caring and professional. The food was excellent with appropriate choice where necessary and the home well managed.
