I have visited my father in law every day and found staff and other residents to be of a great nature and staff always willing.

My husband was only in the home for 7 weeks but the care and kindness he received was second to none. When you have to choose a home for someone you love and care for is a very hard task, but when my daughter and I visited the home without notice we were made to feel very welcome. Myself and family
felt this home was the right choice.

Only had experience for a few weeks but found the staff to be very caring and professional whilst caring for an elderly friend/neighbour who was referred for assessment. Whilst she was there she was admitted to hospital and then returned to Chestnut Court for palliative care was always kept informed
of her progress.


Her room was very clean and I always noticed she was not neglected being washed and changed every time I visited.


The manager went above and beyond her duties. After the patient's death, she contacted the funeral directors for me and took me to register the death as I was not next of kin as her relatives were unable to get here in time and things needed to be arranged in a hurry.
Extremely happy with the care and service provided.

This manager was very professional on our attendance.

Chestnut Court Care Home was like a family home filled with caring people, management, carers, nursing staff, kitchen staff, cleaners and laundry staff. Everyone was so very kind and considerate and their aim was to please. My congratulations to the nurses who were excellent at treating my mother's
leg. The cleanliness of the whole place and the food was extremely good. I would not hesitate to recommend Chestnut Court and my thanks go out to them all looking after my mother in her final weeks.

My wife was in the above home for five years and during all that time I found her care to be first class and have always found the staff very friendly and they became friends that I still visit. I would recommend the home.

The manager and her team have done a wonderful job of making my nan feel welcomed as she settles into her new life at Chestnut Court. My nan was extremely apprehensive about leaving her home but the team have provided support and reassurance throughout this whole process. I can not thank them enough
for making my nan feel safe and cared for. Every aspect of this care home works from the activities, food to the cleaning staff. Everyone is just lovely.

My mother spent three and a half weeks here as respite care. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The management were also very helpful. Food was good and day activities were planned to keep up spirits. Overall, the rooms, gardens and general areas were all good to excellent

My dad is in this nursing home and I must say that he is very well cared for. All his needs are met and the endless cups of tea he likes are always there for him. He has dementia and since he was transferred to Chestnut Lodge from hospital he looks so much better, he is always clean and tidy, his
room, bed etc are all spotlessly clean. All our family are so grateful to all the staff and we would like to give them all a very big thank you.

Since May 2016 to the present day, we have found the staff and management to be attentive, caring and helpful. On our visits he is always presented well, fed well, and attended to when required. His room is kept clean and tidy, which is nice to go into. All areas are kept clean by cleaning staff.
A good variety of food is served each day.

My 91 year old Mum was in Chestnut Court for 7 weeks while she recovered from a cracked pelvis. For the first 4 weeks she had to remain in bed while her bones healed. She is now back in her own home and getting around with just the aid of a walking stick.


Right from the first meeting with the Manager

I felt reassured that we had chosen the right place for Mum. She showed great empathy towards Mum, and was extremely helpful in getting a promised hospital appointment when everyone I contacted in the NHS seemed unable to help. She even gave me her mobile number so that if there were any problems I had a way to contact her directly.


All of the nursing and care staff at the home treated Mum with dignity and respect, and would often pop into her room for a little chat. My Mum appreciated the fact that the food menus were flexible, and they always tried to accommodate her requests for something different.


I think the best thing I can say about the home is that when I took my Mum home, she said that if ever she needed to go into a care home again, she would be happy to go back there.


Please note that I cannot correctly rate the Activities as Mum did not wish to take part in any, and I cannot rate general Value for Money as Mum's own stay was funded by the NHS.

Cathriona Carey

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2018

Hi, my name is Cathriona and I am a Registered Nurse with 21 years experience. During my career I have worked in a variety of settings but have worked in a nursing home setting for the last 9 years.


I am originally from Ireland and completed my training as a Nurse there. I moved over to the UK in 2018. I have worked with MMCG since then and have had the opportunity to work my way up the ladder from a Nurse to Deputy, Acting Home Manager and now Home Manager.


I look forward to meeting each of you over the coming weeks. My door is always open for chats or more serious discussions. It is a privilege and a pleasure to now be part of the Chestnut Court Family.
