Fern Gardens is a specialist home providing a variety of quality care, including 24-hour residential care, dementia care and additional support for those with more complex needs such as mental health conditions.

The home is a modern two-storey building, with 92 en-suite bedrooms with modern décor and up-to-date facilities, as well as a number of communal areas in which residents can enjoy the light and space.

An experienced and multicultural care team work hard to adapt to the varying needs of the residents, with a broad activities programme designed for the hobbies and interests of the residents.

The home has a secure outdoor space, with pathways for gentle walks and ample seating allowing for enjoyment of the fresh air. Residents have good access to local facilities and shops as they are supported to remain independent for as long as possible.

Mum was transferred to Fern Gardens from the hospital in March 2021 and from the start, she was looked after with care and compassion by the staff, making every effort to ensure her family was kept informed during the pandemic restrictions. Over the last months, the manager has been very helpful towards
our family during the difficult time. Mum was always comfortable, relaxed and happy with the staff.

The home is a lovely home with very carrying staff treating the residents with dignity and respect. The management team are open to discussion and willing to put effort to continually improve the resident's welfare.

Poor care, medication not given at required times, no dignity given to the residents. Management are not aware of staff activities. Have nothing positive to say about this home.

My first visit to a care home and with my mother having many special needs, I have been impressed. All the staff, without exception. Night and day have been very helpful and friendly.
We have a very difficult, demanding neighbour and the staff's patience and tolerance is to be admired.

Thank you for looking after my dear father during the last 3 weeks of his life. He was always clean and well presented and whenever I visited, I was often offered a "Cup of tea?", even when the tea trolley wasn't making its rounds. Thank you for your care and vigilance, time in answering all my questions
and compassion during his final days, you cared for my father when I couldn't.

Some days better than others. Some staff very good. Others need more training. Really need some good nurses try to keep calm when dealing with some carers, others very good.
