Fern Gardens Care Home

My brother seems very content - the staff are attentive, caring and good with my brother. Rooms are fine, the food is very good, and my brother has gained 8lbs in a month of being here. Need to improve answering phones and front door - or give families passcodes.

My father was very reluctant to come initially but since coming has been quite quickly settled. Good staff, hard working and helpful.

It's all fine and great - wonderful.

My dad has been at Fern Gardens for over two months now and I cannot fault his care. The staff all go above and beyond to make sure dad's health and welfare is looked after and also support us as a family. Thank you Fern Gardens team.

When our sweet mum came to you the dedication from all staff was so lovely. It gave us peace of mind that mum was safe and being looked after. Such friendly staff all the time and mum did hook on to a couple in particular. Bless her. Mum was always so looked after from the freshly cleaned clothes we brought in and cleaned by their laundry. Fresh food prepared on-site and great variation of food. Mum loved her tea and never went wanting for a cup. Even we were treated so nicely while in with mum many times a week. The facilities there are excellent from the therapy dog and their own hairdresser's room with the mirrors and chairs nice touch. The garden is beautiful safe and quiet. Mum loved the garden We spent so much time walking around there. The resident's rooms are cosy, bright, safe and have modern ensuites also. The dedication from all staff was second to none. We were happy that Mum had her dignity every day. Thank You from her Family.

My aunt was transferred to Fern Gardens from hospital. She has been treated with care and dignity and has flourished. I have been impressed by the friendly, professional staff. The home is kept very clean and warm, and the atmosphere is inviting and caring.

My father-in-law has been at Fern Gardens for around two months. The nurses and care staff are amazing, they cannot do enough for him and for the family when we visit. They are like angels. He has settled very well and is very happy here. The manager has been very supportive.

I came to visit today and found that my friend was in good shape. Looking well and as contented as she can be. The staff were very kind and friendly, I feel happy that she is in good hands.

In the short time I have experienced the everyday workings of this care home, I am very impressed. The staff are very attentive and caring. My aunt has settled very well and is very happy with the meals. From the many activities she takes part in I know her mental care is stimulated. Everywhere looks very clean and security seems good.

I have visited the home several times and each and every one of the staff are so kind and do their job very well. The maintenance man is always there to lend a hand. The home is modern and well maintained just cannot fault it thanks to all for looking after my mum and all the other residents from her daughter and son-in-law. Thanks again so happy.

When I first came here I was utterly completely terrified of a 'care home' idea but after over a month the phase left. If now at all I was ever to stay permanently I would return to, thank you for the stay.

At first, I was upset that he was sent to a care home. It was difficult for me and the place is far. It is the first time he was away in 20 years, but now I see he is satisfied with you here. I can now easily return home from my visits here as there are no complaints from him. He is comfortable with this place and all the staff here. The only difficulty is taking a taxi to come here. Thank you, my husband here is all satisfied. Thank you all for keeping him happy and peaceful. Thank you very much for helping me at all times as well.

The room is spacious and comfortable, having a toilet in the room is really perfect for a resident. The staff are really trying their best to look after residents considering lots of residents do have difficult needs from one and another. Overall for someone who has to live there for 365 days a year they need a comfortable room with a private toilet and some help from staff who cares enough. In my point of view, Fern Gardens Care Home is a really good place for residents.

The carers were helpful, my mother thought they were very nice and caring. Her room was warm and always clean.

It is good, some things needed attention but it has been sorted. All staff are very excellent.

Mum was transferred to Fern Gardens from the hospital in March 2021 and from the start, she was looked after with care and compassion by the staff, making every effort to ensure her family was kept informed during the pandemic restrictions. Over the last months, the manager has been very helpful towards our family during the difficult time. Mum was always comfortable, relaxed and happy with the staff.

The home is a lovely home with very carrying staff treating the residents with dignity and respect. The management team are open to discussion and willing to put effort to continually improve the resident's welfare.
