Crossways Nursing Home is a 'home from home' provider of 24-hour nursing care. A team of skilled carers takes pride in person-centred methods, for both short and long-term needs, with respite care arranged subject to bed availability. We didn’t have a lot of time to research the right care home for my dad as his needs changed very rapidly and of course, the current situation makes everything more difficult. We are very lucky that it was Crossways where he received his palliative care. They were kind, understanding of his needs and

My mother went to Crossways following an operation for a broken hip in St Helier. The staff were incredibly kind to her and very caring. It was a difficult time for us as we were unable to visit her during the initial two weeks of quarantine and after that, could only talk through a garden window. The
Crossways team looked after her really well. They made it easy for us to talk to her on the telephone almost every day. The Occupational Therapist and the Physio team worked extremely hard with her and we are now trying to carry on their good work. We are very grateful for all the care she received and would like to put that on record. Thank you.

At a time when you may feel vulnerable, it's assuring to know that the staff do more than their job - they help you. Caring is a wide term and in every respect we felt secure and they helped iron out difficulties that was not of their making. The staff are very friendly and so kind. Healing is not just
serving the body, it caring for the emotional needs too. Crossways scores 10/10 in my books - and I should know, I am a healthcare professional myself.

My father has dementia and has been at Crossways since February 2017. The care he has received since being there is outstanding. The carers have a genuine interest in my father and his family and they are kind thoughtful and respectful. There is always a member of the management team available to help
and answer any questions. Crossways is very much like a large family and it is so reassuring to know that he is safe and so well looked after by experienced staff who have been there for many years. Thank you so much to all the staff at Crossways.

All the staff at Crossways Nursing Homes were kind and caring to my mum throughout her stay there. In particular, I would like to thank the manager who helped us in our liaison with the NHS staff and prepared mum well, for her onward journey to her new care home close to us.

My elderly mother had significant issues and was very difficult to manage. Prior to her being a resident at Crossways, she was in a much larger well-known chain of care homes. The carers at the large care home were poorly trained, staff turnover was high and her care was not personal enough. Critical
clinical issues were being missed as a result. Simply put - had I not moved my mother to Crossways she would have died in that large well decorated 'posh' care home in a matter of weeks. Crossways is small, personal and has experienced staff who have been there for many years. Crossways staff were always very helpful, great communicators and are of the highest integrity. Despite me living overseas, I could trust Crossways to do the right thing for my mother and keep me honestly informed.
My mother has since made a good recovery and no longer needs 24/7 care at Crossways ; thanks to the manager and her team.

A really well run and clean care home, that looks after everyone extremely well. Food is of a high standard and there are plenty of activities for the residents. The staff are all very helpful and knowledgeable, they always have time for you.

Very caring and affectionate care was given to my father the two months he was there which is the most important. However, as I live abroad, I would have appreciated email response and it to be frequent. I wrote emails and they were not answered. The food could have been more exciting, home-made and
more varied. I would have expected decaffeinated coffee and tea which hydrates as opposed to normal tea and coffee which does not. I asked for apple juice to be given to my father to encourage him to drink more so as to avoid renal infections and this was not followed through in my absence.

My father stayed at Crossways after a hip fracture. The care he received was very good and the staff were kind and helpful. As he has some dementia, it would have been helpful if managers had volunteered more info on how he was doing, we could plan for him to come home.

My partner was resident at Crossways for about 9 months and I visited her nearly every day.
Throughout all this time she was bed bound and totally dependent on her carers.
She was always made comfortable and her personal hygiene and care was of the highest standard.
All this was enveloped in a general
atmosphere of care and respect for her as a person by an outstanding team of dedicated staff.

My mother was a resident at Crossways for four years and I have been a regular visitor all that time. Our experience has always been very positive. Following a stroke, my mother had great difficulty communicating; I was reassured from the start that a great many of the carers had worked there for a
long time and agency staff were rarely used. The majority of the carers there when she moved in were there to say goodbye when she passed away. They all built a wonderful relationship with her and catered for all her needs, all through getting to know her very well as an individual. I also witnessed this with the other residents. The management was very efficient and professional and always approachable. Managers were an integral part of the caring approach of the home and were very involved in day to day caring; often having residents sat in the office with them. I will miss going to visit Mum but get comfort in the knowledge that she was in such caring hands right through to the end.

My wife who suffered from Parkinson Dementia was a resident in Crossways Nursing Home for about one and a half years until she died in September 2018. Throughout her time there the service provided by the management and staff was exemplary.

Staff were friendly and management supportive. Last 5 days our mum was with us, my brother, sister and I were permitted to stay all the time with her. Their end of life care was great even though we wanted to do as much as we could, they assisted and advised when needed.
My mum had a happy stay there
and had the favourites that made her laugh and held her hand and understood her behaviour.

Mum has been rejuvenated since her stay at Crossways. Thanks to the manager and all the staff, who cared for her. Being deaf can be difficult in this environment but this was soon overcome by brilliant friendly staff. Thanks from Mum and our family.

After a series of falls at her home, even with carers and family visiting, mum was still left on her own some part of the day so mum moved into Crossways Nursing Home. It was good to know that she was safe, well cared for and had other people around to talk to. Her room and the food were very good
and if the weather permitted would sit out in the garden. The staff would organise activities and every month we were sent a newsletter with photos and also information about hairdresser, GP visits etc. When visiting, staff were very informative and take the time to have a chat about mum. The staff were very kind and caring. I would highly recommend Crossways.

Staff at Crossways were kind, pleasant and helpful.
Nothing was too much trouble.
Mum, who never ever wanted to go in a home, arrived at Crossways after being discharged from hospital after a fall and settled well.
Mum slept well, enjoyed the food and attention she was shown.
She was always clean
and tidy.

Our team is headed up by Sarah Stacey, who has been in the care industry for twenty years. She joined Crossways in 2010 as the Business Manager and became the Home Manager in 2014. Sarah strives to ensure the effective delivery of high holistic person-centred care in a safe environment. She leads by example and works with a dedicated team to provide high standards of care in a homely and happy environment. She has always maintained good relationships and works with the local authority and Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group. Sarah is the nursing home representative for Sutton.
