Staff are hard working, courteous and always patient with some grumpy residents. The home has morning and afternoon events to entertain. Food is wholesome. There are good help yourself tea and coffee facilities for visitors. During this very hot summer staff have made every effort to keep the home as cool as possible with plenty of fans. Unfortunately the building does not easily lend itself to provision of more air conditioning though consideration may need to be given to this if hot summers continue. The manager takes time out to meet residents and their families and seeks feedback. I am very happy with the care they provide.

I am very pleased to say that all the impressions that I gained at that time have been more than fulfilled in my recent visits to Elmwood since my 97 year old mother was admitted in September. The staff are brilliant, from the home manager to the domestics. All are kind, considerate and very friendly. My mother is extremely happy and very well cared for.
I am a frequent visitor and I am impressed with the staff and management how quick to sort out anything that may arise with my mother. My wife and I appreciate all the hard work everyone puts in to looking after their residents.

We were very pleased to secure a place at Elmwood for mum on her discharge from hospital. We were very happy with the excellent care given there, which allowed mum to continue to recover & improve her mobility. Although she initially found it hard to settle, staff were very caring & supportive to us as a family through this period. At this time there were a lot of very unwell residents, so activities were not so evident, that would be my only concern.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of your mum's stay at Elmwood. We're truly pleased to hear that her time with us supported her recovery and helped her regain mobility, that's exactly the kind of positive outcome we strive for. We understand how challenging it can be for both residents and their families when settling into a new environment, so it means a great deal to hear that our team's support made a difference during that transition. Your comment about activities is appreciated and taken seriously. During times when a number of residents are unwell, our focus naturally shifts to providing the medical and emotional support they need most. That said, we always aim to ensure activities are scheduled each day with the location rotating between floors to ensure all residents have the opportunity to take part. Thank you again for your kind words.
My husband entered Elmwood nursing home on 28th June 2024 he was very agitated & did not take kindly to being looked after he thought he could do it all himself, but with very gentle care & patience the staff were able to help him understand they were there to help & assist him in all he tried to...
The en-suite rooms are always very clean & tidy, good food , upper most was the dignity given to each resident. Plenty of activities but
Not compulsory residents choice. This is the home that didn't give up on him.

She is well cared for by the kind, attentive and caring staff. Staff make an effort to care for each individual's needs with dignity and respect. She likes the food. The residents have daily activities, which they can join in with if they want to. We as a family have always been warmly welcomed, as have her friends. The home has recently had a makeover making it light and bright and her room is kept spotless. I feel the home to be well-led with the managers having a close working relationship with all members of staff, carers and nurses.

As he has a learning disability we arrange extra suitable activities for him, these are made welcome by the home.
The staff generally excellent and the manager very helpful.

I just want to say a massive (belated) ‘thank you’ to all the lovely, hard-working and caring staff at Elmwood who took excellent care of my father for almost a year until his unfortunate passing at the end of August. We all really appreciate the highly professional attitude and caring nature of...
What we really appreciated was how they showed such kindness and compassion in my dad’s final days and enabled us to spend as much time with him as possible and treated all of us with such dignity, which we will be forever grateful for. I know my father certainly appreciated the care he received from all the wonderful staff.
Helpful staff, a lot goes on behind the scenes.

The home is amazing. The staff go above and beyond all duties of care and make you feel like one big family. The quality of the life my auntie had at Elmwood was amazing and since day one she loved all the activity and all the staff.
As a family, we 100 % recommend Elmwood to anyone who needs support for their loved ones or support for themself.
Even though my auntie has passed away we are still invited to join still with events at the home and we are welcome any time to visit the other residents who knew my auntie and the staff.
Today the home put on a tea party in memory of my auntie and other residents spoke about her and staff spoke about her and it was a great tribute to her memory.
It is excellent here, and my brother is well looked after. He is receiving the best care in Elmwood. The staff are so nice, friendly and very helpful.
