Our friend has settled in well and seems very content with the home. We appreciate all the good care and thought behind her stay and care and the staff come up with new ideas and befriend the residents.

My husband of over 50 years has now been living at Hampton Care Home since April 2018. Sadly his dementia and lack of mobility have got progressively worse since then. It has been particularly hard (but understandable) not being able to visit at times during the Covid pandemic. However, it has been reassuring to know that he has been well cared for during that time. I feel very welcome when I visit, from the time I enter reception, to the time I spend with my Husband. The staff are very kind and whenever I see him he always looks well cared for.

I felt confident enough about the level of care and understanding offered by the home that, when a dear friend of mine needed to move into full-time care, I did not hesitate to recommend Hampton Care Home to her and her relatives. She became a resident in December.

The staff and the management are very dedicated, professional, competent and super helpful and friendly.
I do not worry about my mother when she is a Hampton Care Home because I know she is well looked after and loved.
The room is always clean and tidy, there is no bad smell at all.

I will definitely recommend Hampton Care Home to any of my friends or relatives.

My mother has been a resident of Hampton Care Home for some time, during which she has been shown a high level of care, respect and love.
Consequently, she has always felt safe and secure which provides comfort and reassurance to her family.

Carers and all support staff are attentive, polite and professional in the way they go about their duties and since the arrival of the current care home manager, we feel there has been a real drive to continuously improve standards in all areas of the home.

The staff are very helpful and kind. They are always ready to help. I had respite care only and isolation for 1 week. The food was okay but could be better, maybe more salad and fruit for those who can eat it. The staff make this home top of the list.

We could not be happier with the care my father-in-law is receiving at Hampton Care Home! From the initial contact to handling the transition from hospital right up to managing his needs on a daily basis, the staff are nothing other than friendly, professional and caring. Whenever we have been able to visit, my father-in-law cannot sing the staff's praises enough. From the reception team, administrators, nurses and carers, they really cannot do enough for him or us as a family to support us through what has been a trying and testing time, particularly at present.

Thank you to all the team at Hampton Care Home!

My mother spent the last few weeks of her life here, after being transferred from hospital last December when it had been decided that palliative care was now appropriate. Obviously, this was a sad and difficult time for us, compounded by the current situation which made visiting difficult and infrequent, but we were very impressed by the kind and respectful care we witnessed while Mum was there. We were kept well informed and I never had difficulty contacting staff. We were sad that Mum couldn't die at home but this was the best possible alternative. Many thanks.

Had an extremely negative experience with Hampton Care Home and would not recommend to anyone. Following multiple safeguarding issues with my father, the staff were very unprofessional in dealing with the complaint.

Review from Jo-ann D (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 June 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I did not have a positive experience with Hampton Care Home, nor did my late mother, and I have had this home investigated as a result of my mother's death. I have had confirmation of errors made by letter with sincere apologies, and promises for improvements. I would say that for someone seriously ill, the nursing staff who are often swapped over are not either aware or trained enough, or possibly stressed due to the covid situation that errors can be made. Maybe these unusual times are the exception. My experience is truthful, and I have not been offensive. I would hope this will be published.

Reply from Vicky Croton, Canford Healthcare at Hampton Care Home

Dear Jo-ann, thank you for your comments. We have been in touch with you regarding your late mother and the circumstances of her death, and, hopefully, provided you with a full explanation. We take the health and wellbeing of our residents very seriously and ensure that all our staff have the...

My mum has lived at Hampton Care for 6-years. I have always found the staff to be professional in their duties and show compassion and respect towards me and my mum. Their patience and good humour whilst dealing with her are remarkable, and they are quick to offer her a smile or a hug to reassure her. They are generous with their time both with me and my mum, which has been invaluable during the lockdown, and I am exceptionally grateful for the regular updates from the nurses and the video calls organised by the entertainments staff. Before the current restrictions, I visited her regularly, and I always found her washed, dressed and up and about, enjoying her day. I am always advised of decisions relating to Mum’s care and medication, and staff are quick to inform me of any changes in her health or behaviour. In short, I have absolute trust in Hampton Care’s ability to look after my mum, as I know, that the staff always act in her best interests and I can’t ask for anything more than that.

Mum moved into Hampton Care Home at the end of last year. The staff were most welcoming and kind. She is well looked after; the staff are very caring, helpful and treat her with dignity. When I speak to her, she always says she is well looked after, which puts my mind at rest at this difficult time when we can't visit.
I think it's a great idea that the activities staff have organised video calls enabling the residents to keep in touch with their loved ones.

The staff encourage Mum to take part in activities and mix with the other residents; she loves it when they go out on trips.

Review from Victoria M (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 April 2020 Submitted via Website

My mother has been extremely happy at Hampton Care. She constantly sings the praises of the staff. Although the room came ready furnished, the manager was very accommodating and allowed mum to move lots of her own furniture, pictures and personal possessions into the room which has made it feel like home. It is very reassuring to know she is happy and well cared for at this difficult time when we are unable to visit due to government restrictions. The activities staff have arranged regular video calls so we can keep in touch with mum and this has really boosted her morale. Prior to mum going into the home, my dad had been a resident until he sadly died in 2018. Knowing that he had so well cared for made mum’s decision to move into Hampton Care a very easy one for her.

Reply from Sandra Roche, Registered Manager at Hampton Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and we are delighted that your mum feels so happy and well cared for. I am glad that the skype calls have been of benefit during lockdown and I hope you will soon be able to visit again as we miss our families very much indeed.

The management and staff were extremely helpful, enabling me to transfer my dad to the home. When dad arrived, in his words "it was perfect". The care staff were attentive, kind, helpful and treated Dad with such respect. He was so happy the few days he lived at Hampton Care Home. Sadly, he then died days later, but was happy and felt safe.

I feel looked after. In fact, so much so that I can't look after myself now. For example, I find it hard to dress myself now. For some time now someone has accommodated my request for an early bath. This person comes super early (during the nightshift) to make sure I am up before breakfast. The routine makes/has a positive effect on my whole day.
