The well maintained grounds are a plus as are the larger than average rooms. The staff ensure that key events in the yearly calendar are celebrated and a wide range of activities are organised daily. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your kind words. We're delighted to hear that you're pleased with the facilities at Harts House. We work hard to ensure our home feels welcoming, comfortable and well cared for. We're delighted that you found the activities to be enjoyable- we believe staying active and connected...
Residential fees have increased but there have been subtle cut backs. For example the faux out of season flowers at the entrance, a reduction in live entertainment. A walk in the garden and reminiscing is not entertainment. An afternoon film does not cater for residents who have poor vision.
For main meals residents are given an option of 2 meals versus explaining other food is available. Also the tray liner and napkins have disappeared.
There appears to be fewer staff at times on duty.
Finally I really object to the home asking for raffle gifts etc. This is a BUPA facility and should be able to have a slush fund for this. A resident recently won a raffle and the bottle of drink had someone else's name written all over it and the seal was partial broken.
We would like to reassure you that we are continually investing in the home, including recent redecoration, new furniture, garden improvements such as a new patio, and additional...
My husband came to Harts House for a two week stay in order to give me a respite break. I was worried that he might feel anxious amongst strangers and not be able to join in activities. As a result, I went in every day to check that he was okay. I needn't have worried. He quickly got into a routine and seemed happy with all the attention. Staff were very attentive to all residents. The food varied each day, and everyone's particular likes and dislikes were readily accommodated. Security was excellent.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. We are pleased to have been able to help you and your loved one through a difficult time. We are so pleased to hear how you both benefitted from the respite stay at Harts House. We are proud to have such a compassionate team and we're glad...
I'm very happy with the care that he is receiving and all of the staff are doing a great job looking after him. The facilities and catering are perfect for his needs and always kept clean and tidy.

Harts House is simply a fantastic care home. My cousin, who is 96 and living with dementia, is extremely well cared for. Her health and wellbeing has improved no end since she moved into Harts House. She is happy and lively, and has made friends. Every time I visit her she's nicely dressed, and being very well looked after. The staff keep in touch with me if they have any concerns about anything, and I feel without a doubt that they have her best interests at heart. I am so grateful for all that they do - thank you!

My mother has been in the care home for over two years with severe dementia. When she first arrived, the staff and all of the senior managers had a no care attitude, in fact, the care home was beyond disgusting. Since Bupa appointed a new manager and deputy manager just over one year ago, the home is now amazing. The care has improved beyond all recognition and staff, at all levels, are much happier. Thank you Bupa for being able to bring Harts House Care Home up to a very high standard with the appointment of the new senior staff.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are pleased to hear that you are happy with the high standard of care your mother now receives. We will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your loved one's stay as comfortable as possible.
Granny looked well looked after and in good spirits when we visited. The staff were friendly and made time to interact with residents. The management was also attentive and listened to our opinions and suggestions. I was very pleased.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.
My nan was admitted a few weeks ago and the welcome we received was so amazing. The manager met us at reception and made us feel at home from the minute we stepped in. She escorted us to Nan’s room which was clean, neat, and inviting. All the staff are helpful and kind. I can see Nan is happy.
Thank you for your lovely review. We hope Harts House care home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible and we are happy to hear your Nan feels like a part of our Harts House family. We are pleased to hear that you are impressed with your Nan's bedroom and we are happy to...
Great staff and well-managed home. Staff genuinely care for the patients. Was pleasantly surprised by the facilities and engagement of management at the home. Patients seem to be well cared for and look good.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after and we are pleased to hear that you are impressed with the high levels of care provided at Harts House Care Home. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
It was brilliant with lots of singers and residents interacting. Now two of the team have gone and that is a real loss. They were the backbone of the team and it was run efficiently and packed with things to do for the residents.
Now it is boring with residents saying there is nothing for them in the lounge. Huge loss losing two key members who treated staff with kindness, respect and were committed.
Thank you for your feedback. We have a genuine regard for our resident’s health and wellbeing and we will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their services. If you would like to provide any further feedback, please contact our Feedback Team by emailing feedback@bupa.com or calling 0113 381 6293 so we can discuss this further.
As a family, we always feel welcome which makes visiting enjoyable.
The new manager has swiftly made improvements and this is reflected in the excellent care Mum is receiving. We are very grateful for her kindness and support, particularly in recent weeks.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mum in our care. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
Kind and caring staff who treated my wife with dignity and respect. Clean rooms and a very calm and relaxing environment.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members who feel like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your wife received the best possible care.
I am so pleased with the care my mum has received at Harts House, both physical and emotional. The staff, including the new management team, are kind and thoughtful and are always looking at different ways to make my mum feel settled and at home. The entertainment team are brilliant and works really hard to keep the residents busy. My family has just received the most amazing support from the manager regarding an issue that was causing Mum huge distress. We are truly grateful for this. Mum chose this home and she certainly chose well. A big thank you to all the staff.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope Harts House Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible for your mum as well as your family....
The staff who oversaw his care were just excellent. They work long hours, and yet they always have time to answer our questions and make us a cup of tea! They especially looked after my mother, who visited daily, sometimes twice a day and their kindness towards her was exceptional.
Thank you all for being there for our parents, it was hard for them to be apart after 62 years of marriage together and it is never an easy time for the resident and their family.
I am very grateful to you all for your professional help and compassion and for all you did for our family.
Thank you for your lovely review, it is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your father received the best possible care.
My mum was at Harts House Care Home for 2 weeks and I can’t fault the care staff and management. The home is clean and tidy. She joined in the activities that the care home provides and the food was great, Mum said 5 stars.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are very happy to hear you felt at ease with your mum in our care and that she equally rated her stay 5 stars. Thank you for choosing Harts House Care Home.
There is not enough dementia care specialist staff. Residents are left wandering. Night staff keep using incontinence pads on resident at bedtime when not needed - causing urine infections. Some staff are genuinely caring which adds reassurance of good care - need more staff like this. Meals are amazing and great grounds and buildings giving a good outlook for all to enjoy.
Thank you for your feedback. It is hopeful that we are able to provide top-quality nutrition for the residents and we will certainly discuss the rest of your feedback with the home manager so that we can continually improve our services.
The common area on this floor was very uninspiring and I had a number of meetings with management to talk over ideas to improve things however in our time there nothing was ever implemented.
I made a formal complaint to Bupa who decided it was ok for the manager of the home to respond and Bupa themselves never got back to me.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we are concerned to hear about this. Could you please contact our Feedback Team by emailing feedback@bupa.com or calling 0113 381 6293 so we could discuss this further?
