Havering Court delivers 24-hour care for those joining them for short stays and long-term nursing, residential and rehabilitation care. This means they also support people living with complex needs, physical disabilities, respiratory and neurological conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and acquired or traumatic brain injuries.

Nursing staff with the onsite physiotherapy team ensure resident needs are continually met. Visiting professionals such as GPs, speech and language therapists, wheelchair services and dietitians; enable residents' needs to be continually met.

Havering Court is set in a peaceful, woodland setting, off the main road. The home has good transport links with a regular bus route stopping directly outside the home, not to mention easy access to the A12/ M25.

Havering Court has comfortable ensuite bedrooms and well-furnished lounge areas where residents can relax and socialise. The home benefits from lots of outside space for family and friends to use whenever they come to visit.

There’s a real sense of community at Havering Court. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests.

So whether a loved one has a hobby, special interest or activity they enjoy or would like to take up a new one, there are lots of exciting activities to get involved in. There’s never a dull moment, the care home puts on lots of activities that everyone can join in with if they wish and the activities are just as much fun for staff as it is for residents.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. Soon after a resident arrives at Havering Court, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

My dad has been in Havering Court Care Home for five months, and I have been extremely impressed by the care and service of the staff, entertainment, cleanliness and food. My dad has a brain injury, and he can be, at times, a tricky resident due to his complex mental health needs and challenges. I cannot
thank the staff more for their care and support towards my dad and all of our family. They are an absolute lifeline for all of us.

Overall very happy with the service you provide. My sister was so ill and now she seems to know what is going on. Very well looked after. Send her for treatment when she needs it. They all talk to her as if they are her friends. Very pleasant to us when we visit, keep us informed of her well being.

A place I have stayed in before, 11 years ago on respite care while recovering from a bowel operation. A lovely wooded setting with local wildlife, birds, squirrels and deer visiting.
Returned again for respite care, kind friendly management, staff, nurses and carers and cleaning and washing ladies
make you feel at home and relaxed some carers and residents remember me from before.

My husband is new to the care home and we have been totally blown away by the welcome we both received and the care given to my husband so far. He has complex needs and we are both confident that he is now in the right place. We have both been listened to in the terms of his needs and the care needed
and it has been clean in the care given up to now. Everyone has been friendly and interested.

My aunt has resided since 7/8/2003. I have always neem very impressed with the care provided to her and can never show enough how grateful we are. This is especially so since she became very ill this week. The care and attention given to her was unreal. Thanks all for your hard work all the time.

The care team have tried their best in being responsive to her needs and making sure she’s happy. For example, they regularly book her hair appointments to have her hair cut and dyed, knowing that this does wonders for her self esteem. She’s been making steady progress in her recovery from covid (after
months in hospital intensive care). The rehab team have been giving her weekly physio sessions and the activity team provides her with daily exercise to support her physical recovery. Mum enjoys the meals and they have certainly helped in getting her appetite back after a long stint in hospital intensive care. The room is regularly cleaned and the care home have allowed her to bring in her personal items to help personalise and make her stay as comfortable as possible. We are hopeful that under the responsible care of this nursing home, she will make a steady recovery.
Reply from Amanda Barnes, Customer Service Adviser at Havering Court Care HomeWe appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. I found the atmosphere at Havering Court to be good as the staff were pleasant and helpful, and treated everyone as a person, whatever their disabilities. I thought that the time interval between the evening meals and breakfast was too great (5.20 pm until 8.40 am). Perhaps a snack would be offered
during the evening. Otherwise, the meals were varied and tasty with other options such as an omelette or jacket potato if nothing appealed on the menu.
Reply from Alison Horridge, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at Havering Court Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are glad to hear that you found the atmosphere to be good at Havering Court during your stay. We do have a night bite menu, which can be accessed during the evening. I knew my friend as her district nurse for many years prior to her coming here. She was extremely unwell and failing to thrive at home due to her long term and acute conditions. With help we managed to get her into Havering Court Care Home and the change in her has been quite unbelievable. They have
welcomed her, made her feel safe, secure and at home. Sally is now thriving despite long term conditions and I know they will look after her like one of their family. High praise is not enough. They are lifesavers.

My son has high dependency and has lived in various residential placements. Havering Court Care Home has ensured he is settled in his new home, the staff have created a happy, welcoming and professional placement for him. There is a wonderful community feel with everyone welcoming visitors and talking

I was on a one week respite. Due to the COVID-19 situation, I was not told personally that I had to isolate for 14 days. Although I had already been tested negative two days before. I felt like a prisoner. Staff were generally ok and were the main ones I spoke to. They loved me to bits and did not want
me to leave. I am a young person with Parkinson's. I felt staff did not know a thing about Parkinson's. I am currently 48 and was disabled aged 34.

Havering Court Care Home is a very homely place, last week the manager made sure my husband went for his appt in the hospital which he would have missed due to an error from the hospital. Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.560)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.560) out of 10 for Havering Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.710 for Havering Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (120 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 162 Ratings = 4.71
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Havering Court Care Home is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
