My mother is very happy and involved in many activities. I know that she is well cared for and the coordinators aim to personalise her care so that activities that she is interested in, are part of her routine.

Overall Experience

While my sister was in hospital, they had given up on her, treatment was stopped. She was not eating or drinking. On being admitted to Lansdowne Care Home, she has put weight on, loves life, chatting and going out. She is a new and happy woman, all due to the love and care she has received in Merrion House. I cannot praise them enough.

The only comment is the lack of attention to outside visitors during covid tests. No one watches or checks if done correctly or checked what the results are.

I visited my mother-in-law when my wife was away. The biggest impression I had was how attentive the staff are in making sure she is comfortable. Always clean bedding. I was very pleased to see that the staff had made an effort to get her out of bed and into an armchair. This is excellent care.

Review from N E (Cousin of Resident) published on 28 November 2022 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My cousin's welcome was very good to Lansdown both from the Manager and Staff Team, and communication with his loved ones was enough for satisfaction that my cousin would be well looked after. The expectations we had have been fulfilled. In a busy nursing home, the staff and nursing team work hard to fulfil all their resident's needs. The home is whilst clean, feels slightly in need of a facelift and this I suppose comes down to budget. Residents feel confined to their rooms probably down to their medical needs and there seems no interaction between them, but I do commend and applaud the effort made by the Entertainment Manager to allow us to create an 80th birthday party with 25 guests recently. My cousin was thrilled with the occasion. I just feel he needs that interaction every week.

Review from Rajesh P (Brother of Resident) published on 8 September 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

It has been a truly amazing experience to see my brother-in-law enjoying all the activities that the care home has been doing. We attended the summer festival this week and it was so wonderful with the music party and barbecue. The activity coordinator is a plus for the care home and very loving, initiative and helpful. It is an amazing experience to see smiles on the faces of all residents and special thanks to the activities coordinator and her team for all her help.

My mother moved to Lansdown four months ago to be near to myself and her daughter. The transition from her previous care home was handled very well particular as it followed closely the death of her husband. Lansdown has treated my mother well and she seems very happy, eats and drinks and participates in activities. Living in a care home can never be the same as being at home we are content with her situation.
