Surbiton Care Home is a beautifully restored Victorian House which aims to transform peoples' lives through delivery of high-quality care in a friendly, home-from-home environment. The home is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide residential and dementia care for those who need 24-hour personal care and support, as well as respite and day care to support families and carers.

Surbiton offers comfortable, single rooms, most with full en-suite facilities, and additional communal shower rooms. The bedrooms enjoy glorious views of the garden or a picturesque and friendly neighbourhood, and residents can choose to have personal TVs with Freeview and direct dial telephones in the comfort of their bedroom.

Surbiton offers indoor and outdoor space for private family meals and group activities, as well as a place for residents and their friends and families to relax. The home has several communal areas, including a choice of two attractive lounges where residents can watch TV, entertain guests and partake in activities. A well-maintained, secure garden space provides sufficient seating and shade, shared with its surrounding nature. The extended lawn provides fantastic space for group exercises.

Fresh, homemade meals are offered, with alternative options to suit dietary preferences and needs. A dedicated activities room offers a multi-functional area for recreation, entertainment and reminiscence, and the adjacent kitchen encourages and enhances cooking and baking opportunities.

The home embeds itself within the local community, making the most of opportunities such as monthly visits from a vicar and mobile library, as well as partnerships with schools and sports clubs. Residents are visited bi-weekly by a hairdresser and manicure, podiatry and pedicure treatments are also available.

Had a lovely visit with her today. Was so nice to see how well she is being looked after. She seems very well at the moment. The manager and his team are very kind and take time to talk to family members.

The staff always make my visit very friendly and welcoming. They know each of the residents well and have their interests at heart. My mother very much enjoys all the activities which create a happy home atmosphere, and her health has improved since being there.

My aunt has been a resident at Surbiton Care Home since August 2019. It has been difficult for her to adjust following the death of her husband some five years ago and having previously had a fairly independent existence, but she now seems fairly well settled. I have always found the staff very attentive
and helpful. The room my aunt occupies is in good condition and kept very clean. The food is of a high standard and generally, the premises appears to be well organised and well run. In particular, I have found the manager always to be helpful and approachable. The home is situated in a nice residential area and has an excellent rear garden, which can be used by residents in the summer period.

The home has a dedicated team with passionate care and support to my service users always. All families are very supportive and cooperative with our visiting guidance to maintain Infection Control policy with all safety measures. Person-centred care is a key factor in the home.

Mum has now been in this home for 3 years and received first-rate care and attention over that time. In the recent period of Covid-19, the management and staff have been vigilant in maintaining a safe environment, and although I haven't been able to visit personally, I have been kept aware of Mum's
situation, and thus I have no concerns about her well being. A regular diary of activities keep her 'entertained', which with her dementia is essential, and is evidenced by pictures and videos posted on private social media. If there are any issues, I know I will receive a phone call to advise or seek guidance.

I have always been impressed by the warm and friendly reception I get whenever I phone or visit. I am kept updated regularly of my mother's health and activities. She is very well looked after in a warm and friendly environment providing continuing excellent care since she has been a resident from 2017.

After looking at a few care homes for my 93-year-old mother, I chose Surbiton Care Home. As soon as I walked through the door I noticed it had a different feel to the other homes I have visited. It felt warm and welcoming and I was very happy I chose this home. The staff are compassionate and caring
and the family were always made very welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend this home.

Several things impressed me regarding this care home.
1)Handling of new resident. At a time in anyone's life losing a partner is a heartache. Losing him/her and moving into a residence and meeting new people and allowing others to take care of essentials is very upsetting. I found Surbiton Care Home,
all staff, treated my friend (family friend) with care, sympathy, respect, dignity. All the attributes of a very professional team.
2) Food and beverages - Excellent.
3) Activities and care - Excellent.

I have visited my dear friend three times now, every time she has clearly been very relaxed, contented and happy. I have always been made very welcome and offered a cup of tea. The staff are very friendly. Lovely home, well and comfortably appointed.

My mum had two respite stays at Surbiton Care Home. Last month my mum became a permanent resident. The staff are so kind, friendly and very caring. Surbiton has a homely feel and is not too large, so the residents are treated as individuals and with respect. The food is excellent to tempt declining
appetites.

I visited a number of care homes before deciding, 6 months ago, on Surbiton Care Home for my very elderly relative. I have found no reason at all to regret my choice. The staff seem to me to be caring and involved with the residents. Friends and relatives are welcomed and involved in decisions.
The home is clean, bright and well furnished. There are many activities - entertainments, arts and crafts, card and board games, quizzes and more - and the less able are helped to take part. Regular residents' and relatives' meetings are held. The food is outstanding and residents and relatives are involved in menu-planning. Social events have been organised inside the home and in the garden. Anniversaries are celebrated. Health and safety has been carefully addressed and relatives informed of current practices.


Though reluctant at first, my relative has settled well, has been gently encouraged to join in activities and has made friends.
