Very welcoming and friendly. Outstanding carers and nursing staff. Couldn't ask for anything better than to have such caring people looking after my wife.

The owners are making updates which are very welcome. So pleased my wife came to stay here. It is the people who work here that make it so wonderful.

Mum was at Lodore for 5 months in 2025. The many excellent, caring staff did everything they could to make her comfortable in her last months.

The nurses always made themselves available to discuss any concerns that I had about her health and medication. Shortly before the end, the staff went out of their way to enable her to enjoy her 90th birthday. It was a wonderful last highlight. I am extremely grateful to them.

Our family could not be more grateful for the care and attention my partner has received at Lodore. The entire team has made him feel welcome, safe, and cared for.
The staff are professional, compassionate, and attentive to his needs-both medical and emotional. They keep us informed of any changes or concerns and It's clear that they genuinely care.
The common areas are bright and inviting, and his room is always clean and cozy. Communication has been timely and we always feel in the loop, and any questions we have are addressed promptly and thoroughly.

We would wholeheartedly recommend Lodore to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones.

The manager and staff at the home are very friendly and helpful. My father-in-law was there for only 2 weeks respite care while we were away.

The manager kindly sent us videos and photo updates which showed how happy he was. That was reassuring and much appreciated.

On arrival at the home we are always welcomed by the staff and we are offered tea and coffee.
The home is very clean and tidy, Mum is kept clean and her clothes always look nice and well-kept.
We find the staff very supportive, when Mum is not at her best, and are always there to help us with any concerns we may have regarding Mum.
I have been with Mum when her lunch has been served, it always looks nice and well-presented.
Mum's room is very well kept, and her clothes are all tidy in her drawers and wardrobe.
Overall we find the home a lovely place for Mum to be whatever time she has left to be surrounded by the lovely staff that look after her.

We would like to thank everyone concerned who is involved with the care for Mum.

Review from Jane C (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 February 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum has been a resident at the home since July 2023. The home is dated, however for elderly residents this is unlikely to be an issue. Young visitors to the home may take a different view. Our experience with the home has been positive. Mum is well cared for and recognises the staff who come into her room. The care home manager is always accessible to us if we have a concern. The team at Lodore, which includes the nursing staff, carers, and housekeepers, are kind, compassionate and very welcoming. When we leave the home we feel that Mum is in good hands which is so important to us. I don't really have an opinion on value for money because I am not up to date with the costs of other care homes in the area. However, I suspect it is good value for money. I would recommend this nursing home because the care is excellent which should be the most important consideration to anyone looking for a nursing home.

Lodore have looked after my Aunt for the best part of two and a half years. During that time, she received brilliant service and care.
The staff at Lodore looked after her with great care and love. In my dealings with them, they have been thoughtful and communicative if there was a problem.

If I was to recommend a home for family or friends in the future, Lodore would be top of my list.
