Staff friendly and welcoming. Sister is well looked after and she is happy. I know everyone is very busy but is it possible to Beryl for a short walk once a day around the courtyard x2. I would appreciate this as sitting in chair makes her legs stiff. Thank you for all you do.
Reply from Vera Liubchivschi, Manager at Lodore Nursing HomeThank you for your positive Feedback. We will do our best and continue to attend Beryl with everything that she needs.

My experience of having a relative in Lodore Nursing Home is that he receives excellent nursing and carers care, there is a homely feel to the home and nothing is too much trouble for the staf, having had a not so good care from a care home when my mum was in a different one, different area, etc, I
have been totally reassured, and have every faith in Lodore in caring for my relative.

Our family is deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided to our loved one during their palliative journey. The compassion, respect, and professionalism shown by every member of the care home staff brought us comfort during an incredibly difficult time. They treated our family member with dignity,
gentleness, and genuine kindness, ensuring they were comfortable and supported every step of the way.
The communication with our family was always warm and clear, and we felt included, reassured, and cared for as well. The environment was calm, welcoming, and filled with people who truly go above and beyond.
We cannot thank the team enough for the remarkable care they provided. This care home is a place of true empathy and dedication, and we wholeheartedly give them 5 stars.

Mum was at Lodore for 5 months in 2025. The many excellent, caring staff did everything they could to make her comfortable in her last months.
The nurses always made themselves available to discuss any concerns that I had about her health and medication. Shortly before the end, the staff went out of
their way to enable her to enjoy her 90th birthday. It was a wonderful last highlight. I am extremely grateful to them.

Our family could not be more grateful for the care and attention my partner has received at Lodore. The entire team has made him feel welcome, safe, and cared for.
The staff are professional, compassionate, and attentive to his needs-both medical and emotional. They keep us informed of any changes
or concerns and It's clear that they genuinely care.
The common areas are bright and inviting, and his room is always clean and cozy. Communication has been timely and we always feel in the loop, and any questions we have are addressed promptly and thoroughly.
We would wholeheartedly recommend Lodore to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.905)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.905) out of 10 for Lodore Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 44 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 44 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.905 for Lodore Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (465 Excellents x 5) + (49 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 514 Ratings = 4.905
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lodore Nursing Home is based on 44 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2, which has been reached with 44 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
