Based in Stepney Green, East London, Westport plays an active part of the local community. The beautiful 41-bed home provides respite care and long-term care for people who require residential, residential dementia and end of life care.

The dedicated team, many of whom live locally, work in partnership with each person who lives at the home, and their loved ones, to encourage residents to keep active and plan their own daily routines; making their own choices and supporting people to remain as independent as possible. The home is a place of freedom and respect, where people are supported to have a life well lived, each and every day.

Known for the home-from-home environment, high quality care and a fun and friendly atmosphere, Westport has been rated 'GOOD' by CQC (April 2022). They maintain close contact with the vibrant communities of inner London of Limehouse, Shadwell and Mile End - places many of the residents have lived in throughout their lives.

Westport Care Home has a very strong leadership dedicated to doing their best for every resident. The staff appear to be well trained and very attentive to the residents with their approach to care. They have varied activities, and consideration is given to individual needs and capabilities regarding
food. There is a strong emphasis on earth residents' dignity, safety and choice.

The staff at Westport are excellent. My mother receives great care in a very open and relaxed environment. My mother is able to wander within the property and the open surrounding garden spaces. This suits my mum very well as she is a very active person.

The staff are always welcoming and approachable. They respond to general queries and assist when required. They notice when residents need assistance and the care is superb. They communicate respectfully when dealing with the residents. Personally I never feel that I can't approach them and they are

My brother in law has been living here (in respite) since March whilst awaiting his permanent accommodation to be made safe. I have visited friends who sadly need care and Westport Care Home is by far the best care home. I am very very impressed with everything - the rooms, lounge area, garden and especially
the caring dedication of the staff. Thank you for looking after my brother in law so well. I really can't fault it. It is such a nice friendly atmosphere.

My aunt has been here for many years. From the moment she arrived here the atmosphere was warm and friendly. It feels very much like home from home and the staff are exemplary! The care home is always very clean and tidy. Nothing is too much trouble and if my aunt has any problems I am immediately notified.
I cannot recommend here enough and it is with gratitude to the staff how they care for my aunt.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.988)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.988) out of 10 for Westport Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.988 for Westport Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (342 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 346 Ratings = 4.988
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westport Care Home is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
