My short period of respite care proved to be very helpful and supportive. The staff made every effort to provide the special diet and I needed for all my meals at that time. Visitors were made very welcome, and it was good to be ale to have tea and cake with them in the little cafe.

My dad has been at Leah Lodge 6 months now, and we are very happy with the care he has received. The medical care he has access to is excellent, and the individual attention and support he has received since moving in are really great.
The staff are informally kind and attentive, and my dad is as
happy and secure as we could ask for.

My father was taken into Leah Lodge Care Home after a fall at home and my mother struggled to care for him at home. He was 94-year-old. I was very apprehensive about Care Homes, but Leah Lodge were fantastic. Dad had dementia and the way the staff encouraged and included him in activities and outings
brought him out of himself. The staff are marvelous and I would definitely recommend the whole team. Well done and thank you Leah Lodge.

Our uncle has been at Leah Lodge for 6 years and in all that time he has been very happy, has received exceptional care and we have 100% confidence in this home. He is always treated with dignity and respect, but also like one of the family. We feel very welcome when we visit and our uncle enjoys
the opportunities for trips out and the events organised within the home.
Staff exceptionally kind and professional, regular routine visits from the doctor, we are always updated on any change of medication, jabs, etc.
We are extremely glad to have found this wonderful place for our uncle and would recommend to anyone.

I cannot speak highly enough of Leah Lodge and its staff. My mum, who has moderate Alzheimer's, moved in a month ago. We were both worried about this big step as she had been living with me and my family but we really needn't have been. The staff were so supportive throughout the decision-making and
moving-in process and Mum settled in quickly. She is very happy in her new home and enjoys the activities, especially the outings (she has been to a local school, to church and Gardens) and has already made a couple of friends! The staff are caring, positive and friendly and always willing to listen however busy they are. The best thing for us as a family is that we can relax knowing that Mum is so well looked after and it's great to see her living her own life again having been so dependent on us. We love visiting her at Leah Lodge, sitting in the cafe having tea and cake or relaxing in the beautiful garden. It's such a warm and welcoming atmosphere!

I am super happy with the care that Leah Lodge provides for my mum. Mum moved into Leah Lodge in Oct 2024 and she has done nothing but thrive. All the staff are not only caring but lovely and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. She joins in with all the activities and when they go out on days out
she has a great time.


It has been a great relief to know that mum is in such wonderful hands.

Dad arrived following a hospital stay and in the late stages of dementia for end of life care. He is being wonderfully cared for by all the team who are kind, thoughtful, helpful and caring. We feel that dad could not be in better hands.

Be warned. Fees rise very sharply, punishing longer term residents. Each year fees have increased well above inflation; after 3 years we are now paying an extra £3000 per month, considerably more than new residents do for the same care. This is an injustice but management are indifferent to our objections,
caring only about their profits.

We have all been really happy with the care provided at Leah Lodge. My stepdad settled in quickly, and is very fond of the staff, telling us how well they look after him. He has really enjoyed some of the activities, and the activities staff are outstanding. The care is very good and staff are quick
to communicate any concerns. He says the food is great, and it's nice to have the cafe area to sit and talk when we visit. It has been a huge relief to know that he is safe and well cared for. I could never have imagined someone so fiercely independent would be happy in a care home, but it has suited him remarkably well.

I moved into Leah Lodge 10 weeks ago; it is now my permanent home. Before I came, I was well supported by the publicity and recruitment staff, who patiently answered my many questions as worked through a life-changing decision.
My experience of living here has been very good. All staff know me and
address me by name at all times. Help is available at the touch of a button, and it is given cheerfully and willingly; there is an excellent balance between any support needed and respect and encouragement of my independence. The activities coordinators work hard to maintain our social skills through varied and imaginative projects, including frequent opportunities to go further afield in the minibus.
As for the comfort and maintenance of good health, menus are varied and interesting, beds are wide and comfortable, rooms are well furnished, and there is ready access to the doctor who visits the home every week.

Leah Lodge is a well run, caring place for people with dementia. The staff are professional but kind and friendly with the residents, who are given plenty of agency over decisions. It fosters a good environment, with plenty of activities and things for the residents to do. This is the fourth home that
my mother has been in (this happened more by accident that because we're difficult!), so I have a good understanding of how care homes work, and it is definitely the best, from the settling in process to the day-to-day lived experience.

I always thought putting a relative in a care home was the last thing I should do until a friend became a permanent resident in Leigh Lodge. It's such a happy and caring home, somewhere I'd enjoy living myself. The carers know all the friends and relatives of the residents. The relatives know each other's
mothers and fathers. It's like being part of a large family. The relatives meetings a time to connect over a glass and nibbles. The pizza, curry and fish and chip nights for the relatives an opportunity to chat with each other and the staff. The managers, senior carers and the lady who runs the activities.
My dogs are always welcome and enjoyed by the residents.
The staff have an extremely difficult job, which they manage calmly. There is often much laughter and fun, dancing and singing.
Leigh Lodge is always thinking up new ways to improve the lives of their residents. It's exciting to be involved in their plans and to be asked for our ideas.

Leah Lodge provide a high level of personal care. All staff from housekeeping to reception are helpful and friendly. My father is happy there, enjoying the food and company of the other residents and staff who have taken time to get to know him and will always have a chat.

Leah Lodge was the obvious choice for Mum when she needed residential care as my mother-in-law had lived there previously for several years and been very well looked after. Mum has been there for over 18 months now and is very happy. She settled in straight away so the transition was much easier than
I expected. I think it is due to the warmth and friendliness of all the carers who convey a great deal of compassion and kindness mixed with good humour and fun. Overall it is a very welcoming and friendly place which I believe sets it apart from other homes.

My mother has now been at Leah Lodge for just over 9 months having moved in just before Xmas last year after suffering a stroke. She took quite a few months to settle in but is now happy and doing lots of the activities offered (the activities co-ordinator is exceptional). The food is good with wine
offered at meal times. Staffing is also good. The main thing about Leah Lodge is that as soon as you walk in you don't feel like it's a typical care home setting as the reception area and cafe is very welcoming and friendly. The rooms and communal areas are also very personal and comforting. To conclude I feel Mum is safe and well cared for.

My uncle has lived at Leah Lodge for a few years now and they are fantastic. He is very happy and considers it his home. It is a blessing to know he is cared for and the staff are great! What I do:
I am the General Manager of Rectory Court and Leah Lodge, as such I have the overall responsibility of the homes with the support from my team. My role can vary from day to day and no two days are ever the same.


My experience:
I have been working in the care industry for over 30 years, starting as a care assistant, then going back to further education to become a manager first for Suffolk County Council and then into the private sector. I have a passion for Dementia care and hold an advanced Dementia training qualification in addition I have a Dementia mapping qualification which I undertook with Bradford University.


About me:
I am have been married for over 30 years to Adrian a teacher, I have two sons Tim and Tom both currently studying at university. I am a highly competitive person who likes to succeed.

I have worked in the luxury care sector now since 2015 and my role is a varied and enjoyable one. I am one of the lucky people who loves what I do every day.


Previous to this I was an estate agent, I worked my way through from Accounts Assistant to Lettings and Sales Branch Manager when I left University.


About Me:


I am originally from the Wirral and I moved to London with my husband in 2015 due to his career and have created a lovely life here.


We now have a 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter who keep us busy most of the time. We enjoy going on holiday and socialising with friends whenever we get the chance.

I’m the head chef here at Leah Lodge I started as a 2nd chef at Rectory Court and was delighted to become Head Chef; my role now is to work closely with my team and all our residents to provide a nutritional and healthy menu with the odd treat. I liaise with our residents to find out their likes and dislikes and provide an alternative meal of their choice if they wish. Me and my team will always aim to please and provide a good dining experience.


My Experience:
I have 6 years of experience working in catering and have enjoyed every moment, learning new things all the time. I have a BETEC level 2 in hospitality and catering and an NVQ level 2 in kitchen services and food safety.


About Me:
When I’m not working I spend time with my three sons and visiting my family, I like socialising with my friends and having a good meal out with somebody else cooking.
