My mother is treated extremely well at Leah Lodge. Staff are kind and caring, providing humour and reassurance all the times. Facilities are excellent and the number and variety of activities on offer is a particular feature. Effort is made to get to know each resident so that they can be treated as
in individual with dignity and respect. At Leah Lodge there is a strong and positive emphasis on "living well with dementia." Visitors are made to feel welcome at all times. The ground floor cafe with its drinks and cakes can make visits feel special.

Leah Lodge as a physical environment is like a boutique hotel, beautiful, comfortable, homely. Staff are kind and caring and responsive to us and to my mother. Meals are very good in quality, variety and presentation. We are consulted about my mother's care and any changes in her condition and needs.
On many occasions, we have visited when activities have been happening and the home hosts many events for residents, friends, family and local residents. We are very happy with the level of care my mother receives.

Leah Lodge is beautifully furnished with comfortable en-suite rooms and a lovely dining area. The staff have always shown patience and care towards my cousin, who has settled well. There is a calm atmosphere in the house but also a good provision of activities, usually twice a day. Any contact I have
had with the staff has been welcomed and they appreciate both their residents and their families/friends.

In all respects but one, this care home is good. However, the residents, who have few pleasures, deserve better food. They use cheap cuts of meat, cheap everything and serve rotten food.

As General Manager at Leah Lodge, I am disappointed to read this feedback, particularly as I have not met the visitor who submitted the review or had the opportunity to discuss the matter in person. We recognise that mealtimes are of huge significance to the older people who live with us and I am confident that the food served here at Leah Lodge is of a consistently high standard, nutritionally balanced use good quality, fresh ingredients. Food choices are very individual and I have personally met with the resident concerned on several occasions to discuss their mealtime preferences. Our chef also regularly holds meetings with the residents as a group to plan menus which reflect the seasons and offer variety and choice. The team at Leah Lodge is united in the desire to make a difference to the lives of the people that live with us and welcome feedback in order to develop and improve our service.

My stay here was very good. Rooms very comfortable, always kept clean, food good, varied menu's you could have a drink hot or cold when you wanted. Staff excellent. I need a lot of help as I am disabled and in a wheelchair, I just press a bell and they would come. Nothing was a problem.

Welcoming from the start over six months now. Friendly, supportive encouragement for everyone's needs. Care and concerns excellent. Shared humour no feeling of intrusion. Gentle check up times especially at night. All the staff have become our friends.

This is a care home of the highest quality where the needs of the residents are central to the ethos of the whole establishment. The staff are exceptionally well trained and empathic towards the residents and family members. The standard of the building and decoration is very high and organised activities

My mother was in Leah Lodge for a short period of respite. The building and the facilities are imaginatively planned and of a high standard. Without exception, the staff were caring, attentive, friendly and eager to please at all times.
I felt that my mother was safe, comfortable and engaged in activities
throughout her visit.
The small things, as well as the bigger things undertaken by the staff, demonstrated a professionalism of the highest standard.

Very well run and caring staff - nothing is too much trouble. Warm, very comfortable and stylish surroundings. Clean, spacious - beautiful gardens. I was admitted as an emergency with no fuss - and the location is ideal.

My uncle has now been in here for 3 weeks. I know this is early days yet, but since he has been here, he has been doing really well. I have never seen him this happy in a long time. He has put on weight because he is now having 3 meals a day. He joins in with the activities, before he came in he just
used to sit in his chair and do nothing. Just wanted to die.

Leah Lodge is at the luxury end of residential care with a hand-picked and dedicated team who consistently reflect the core values of the general manager, seeking to tailor the services to each resident and respecting each individual. There is no agency staff.


The setting is on three floors with

quality furnishings throughout. Residents are encouraged to choose which of the three dining rooms they use.


Activities are customised to the residents and are designed to engage them in both the moment and in planning for future events. Cultural festivals such as Christmas and the Chinese New Year are celebrated with gusto and commitment from all the team.


As an internationally located son of a resident, I really appreciate the updates and communication from the team with photos and other information. It does give a great sense of peace knowing that she is living in a well designed and appropriate place with care being delivered to high standards by a dedicated team.

I am the General Manager of Rectory Court and Leah Lodge, as such I have the overall responsibility of the homes with the support from my team. My role can vary from day to day and no two days are ever the same.


My experience:
I have been working in the care industry for over 30 years, starting as a care assistant, then going back to further education to become a manager first for Suffolk County Council and then into the private sector. I have a passion for Dementia care and hold an advanced Dementia training qualification in addition I have a Dementia mapping qualification which I undertook with Bradford University.


About me:
I am have been married for over 30 years to Adrian a teacher, I have two sons Tim and Tom both currently studying at university. I am a highly competitive person who likes to succeed.

I oversee the running of Leah Lodge alongside the Manager. It's our ethos to make it a family-feeling home where everybody is welcome.

I am originally from the Wirral and I moved to London with my husband in 2015 due to his career and have created a lovely life here.

My working background has been working within the care industry for just over 4 and half years now having varied roles. I’m the head chef here at Leah Lodge I started as a 2nd chef at Rectory Court and was delighted to become Head Chef; my role now is to work closely with my team and all our residents to provide a nutritional and healthy menu with the odd treat. I liaise with our residents to find out their likes and dislikes and provide an alternative meal of their choice if they wish. Me and my team will always aim to please and provide a good dining experience.


My Experience:
I have 6 years of experience working in catering and have enjoyed every moment, learning new things all the time. I have a BETEC level 2 in hospitality and catering and an NVQ level 2 in kitchen services and food safety.


About Me:
When I’m not working I spend time with my three sons and visiting my family, I like socialising with my friends and having a good meal out with somebody else cooking.
