Leah Lodge always pays great attention to detail and record keeping and always responds promptly to any concerns. The staff are caring and very helpful. There is a good range of resident activities and lots of encouragement for friends and relatives to join in. My friend feels safe, happy and cared
for.

The two weeks respite I have spent here in Leah Lodge have been just what the doctor ordered and what I needed. The care home itself is very comfortable, bright and airy. The staff, and carers have been so kind and caring. I cannot speak more highly of them, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Leah

My father spent three years at Rectory Court in Blackheath and then his last few months at Leah Lodge Care Home, the sister home for those with greater needs.
The staff were unfailingly kind and considerate, as well as highly professional and made Dad's last years so much better than they could have
been. His wife and sons are enormously grateful.

My friend, who was suffering from an incurable brain tumour, moved into Leah Lodge for a period of respite care in early December 2023. From our first contact with staff there, everyone was helpful, considerate and professional, making the whole process far easier than it might have been.
All of the
care staff were exceptionally friendly, caring and professional, going out of their way to get to know my friend and understand exactly what she needed. Throughout her stay, senior staff communicated on an almost daily basis and always replied to emails and phone calls within a few hours.
In early January, when it became clear that there were no further treatment options, the level of care she received was amazing. I cannot imagine a better place to spend the last months of one's life. And when she died in mid-February, again everything was handled brilliantly. Thank you all so much.

I find the entire team to be friendly, approachable and kind. Leah Lodge has good energy and overall residents seem engaged and happy. Food is healthy and varied and there are many activities that residents can do if they want to take part in. I highly recommend Leah Lodge for family members with stage
5 or above dementia. The team manage a very challenging situation with a smile and kind words. The stand-out point for me is the lack of agency staff used.

I was so impressed with the way the staff at Leah Lodge helped settle my mum into her new home. As a 90-year-old with dementia it could have been traumatic for her, but all the staff have been intuitive, good humoured and gentle with her, and have been reassuring to her family members throughout the

My mother was a resident at Leah Lodge Care Home for nearly three and a half years before her death in May. She received excellent care as her Alzheimer’s advanced. The staff were always very welcoming and kind and communicated well with the family. Mum was settled, happy and all her needs were well
catered for. The support and compassion shown to us as a family in the last week of Mum's life was exceptional. We will never forget it. Thank you to the whole team.

The entire team at Leah Lodge have been simply superb and moved mountains to accept our mother and transition her into care literally within a few hours. My mother arrived at Leah Lodge Care Home after a difficult time in hospital. She has improved already and the team are very attentive. Leah Lodge communicates extremely well with relatives. The building is very well equipped, clean and has a nice family feel to it.

Mum has been a resident at Leah Lodge since June 2022 (diagnosed with Alzheimer's in May 2022). The care home is extremely well appointed with great care taken for the needs of the dementia residents, for example, memory boxes at the entrance to each room. The care home is kept spotlessly clean. A plan
of daily activities is arranged and published each week. Food is fully prepared and residents are given a choice for each meal. Most impressive of all is the staffing. Each resident is appointed a lead carer with who I am in regular contact around mum's care. Staff are invariably cheerful and I am confident mums needs are being well met.

Mum has been in Leah Lodge for nearly three years. In that time she has maintained her vivacity, and her weight and she seems happy. During visits I have been delighted with the care I've seen including precautions during this difficult covid period. Mum is able to continue to enjoy life.

Leah Lodge have worked with us to help settle our Mum in, albeit that has taken a while.
In our experience carers have been kind, supportive and willing. The food is excellent and we feel Leah Lodge is a safe place for our Mum to live. Staff have been happy to listen to queries and suggestions.
At
times carers have appeared to be somewhat understaffed. Carer/resident ratio has at times not seemed great. Staff breaks do not appear to be covered. As a result, carers have sometimes needed ongoing prompting, e.g. hearing aids being put in, changing of incontinence pads, missing slippers, reminding Mum to drink more frequently. This is reflected in the value for money score (3).
Whilst bedrooms are very well equipped, there have been times when Mum's bedroom needs attention (eg overflowing bin, half finished drinks left all day and unclean bathroom floor). However, Leah Lodge is generally immaculately clean, tidy and comfortable.

I choose Leah Lodge after visiting about twelve homes. I knew when I walked into Leah lodge that it was the place I would feel happy to leave my father. The staff really make the place, friendly, attentive and caring.
Dad has only been here a few weeks and has settled in well. I’m very happy to have

My mother has just moved into Leah Lodge following my dad’s recent death. We wanted my mum to be looked after as if she were in her own home.
She moved and had to quarantine in her room, due to Covid (despite her being negative), for 14 days which we were dreading but the staff had a program planned
for her which they sent us. It was excellent and definitely tailored to her interests.
Although my mum’s memory is very poor she is always able to tell us that she’s “eaten delicious meals and the people are lovely!”.
We FaceTime her frequently and she looks well cared for. She has had a few episodes of confusion and distress but the staff have always dealt with these in a very caring way and help her to speak to one of us to reassure her.
She was a music teacher and on her first day out of her room I was sent a short video of her playing the piano, just brilliant!
It’s early days but so far we are incredibly impressed with Leah Lodge.

What I do:
I am the General Manager of Rectory Court and Leah Lodge, as such I have the overall responsibility of the homes with the support from my team. My role can vary from day to day and no two days are ever the same.


My experience:
I have been working in the care industry for over 30 years, starting as a care assistant, then going back to further education to become a manager first for Suffolk County Council and then into the private sector. I have a passion for Dementia care and hold an advanced Dementia training qualification in addition I have a Dementia mapping qualification which I undertook with Bradford University.


About me:
I am have been married for over 30 years to Adrian a teacher, I have two sons Tim and Tom both currently studying at university. I am a highly competitive person who likes to succeed.

I oversee the running of Leah Lodge alongside the Manager. It's our ethos to make it a family-feeling home where everybody is welcome.

I have been a Registered Nurse for 29 years with varied experience in elderly care, which covers Clinical Nursing in a 300-bed hospital, Occupational Nursing, Private Nursing and Nurse Manager roles.

I have been happily married for 24 years and have two beautiful daughters. Reading is the best form of relaxation for me, and my happiest time is when I explore new places and foods with my family.

What I Do:


I am Home Admissions Advisor for both Leah Lodge and Rectory Court. I started with Cinnamon in 2019.


I help families and potential residents through their journey of considering a care home for their loved ones.


I consider it a privilege to be able to advise people on such a difficult and emotional journey.


My Experience:


I have worked in the luxury care sector now since 2015 and my role is a varied and enjoyable one. I am one of the lucky people who loves what I do every day.


Previous to this I was an estate agent, I worked my way through from Accounts Assistant to Lettings and Sales Branch Manager when I left University.


About Me:


I am originally from the Wirral and I moved to London with my husband in 2015 due to his career and have created a lovely life here.


We now have a 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter who keep us busy most of the time. We enjoy going on holiday and socialising with friends whenever we get the chance.

I am overjoyed to be part of the Leah Lodge team. I am really excited to watch this home be successful and most of all see the residents be delivered excellent care and live in the luxury accommodation we offer.


Being part of the team from the beginning gives me great pleasure in getting to know the residents and their families and show the pride and passion we hope to deliver to Leah Lodge at all times.


My working background has been working within the care industry for just over 4 and half years now having varied roles. These range from working in the Support Office delivering general support to the homes when they were under pressure, completing payrolls, purchase ledger, sales and finance. Whilst completing these varied roles the best part is being out visiting the homes, helping the employees and mainly caring for the residents which is what brings me to work as an administrator at Leah Lodge.

I am proud to be Head Housekeeper in Leah Lodge.


I have over 12 years’ experience in a care home environment and before that in 4-5 star hotels.


Myself and my highly-experienced team, are really enjoying making sure that very high standards are maintained, so that residents, visitors and staff have a clean, safe, welcoming environment to live in, visit and work.


I enjoy music, eating out and walking my dog Edna.

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2017

What I Do:
I’m the head chef here at Leah Lodge I started as a 2nd chef at Rectory Court and was delighted to become Head Chef; my role now is to work closely with my team and all our residents to provide a nutritional and healthy menu with the odd treat. I liaise with our residents to find out their likes and dislikes and provide an alternative meal of their choice if they wish. Me and my team will always aim to please and provide a good dining experience.


My Experience:
I have 6 years of experience working in catering and have enjoyed every moment, learning new things all the time. I have a BETEC level 2 in hospitality and catering and an NVQ level 2 in kitchen services and food safety.


About Me:
When I’m not working I spend time with my three sons and visiting my family, I like socialising with my friends and having a good meal out with somebody else cooking.
