Park Avenue Care Home is a 51 bed dementia nursing home and nursing home, which supports those living with dementia and other conditions needing skilled nursing care.

Many residents are living with complex care needs, however, every resident is encouraged to be as active and involved in life in the home as they can be. Through PARC, the Park Avenue Resident’s Committee, everyone is invited to play an active role in planning life in the home and out in the community, where Park Avenue is involved with local schools and various church and neighbourhood groups.

Park Avenue is an extraordinary home. The beautiful gardens host an array of wildlife, whether summer days or autumn nights, the beautiful outdoor space paints the perfect picture of life in the home. It is a place of tranquillity and a place where residents can get involved in gardening activities or simply relax and enjoy the seasons.

Accredited with Platinum status by the Gold Standard Framework for End of Life Care, The Park Avenue team – from nurses and carers through to domestic and kitchen team are well equipped to facilitate a person’s care toward the end of their life ensuring they receive the right care at the right time and in the right place.

Since the new manager has been at Park Avenue, it has changed so much for the better. She informs you of what if happening which is better, always ensures if everything is OK with me or my dad. I'm just so happy with everything and have recommended Park Avenue to another person who needs another home.

During the 3 months my husband has been resident here I have been most impressed with the efficiency, friendliness and care shown by all staff.

The staff and management at this home are excellent. The home is currently undergoing refurbishment and is looking bright and fresh. The activities coordinator is dedicated to ensuring all residents were active or bed-bound are engaged. Communication is excellent at both shop floor "staff" level and
at management level.

This home has superb and caring Staff. Our Mum is in a newly refurbished, very clean room and we are impressed by the diligence of the staff.


On arrival from the hospital - mum could not walk or feed herself but within two months, she has become more alert and is beginning to connect with people

and take a few physical steps. This is due to the care and attention of the wonderful staff and care home Management Team. We look forward to a summer of activities and increased enjoyment on our mother's part.

My mother moved into this home several months ago, I became unhappy with the care my mother was receiving as the Manager who was in place refused to answer my complaints, would avoid seeing me to discuss issues and was rude and aggressive. One clear example was when we had a meeting scheduled, the
manager text me to say she had to go to the shop and could not make the meeting. Another time she refused to come out of her office to discuss ongoing issues with my mothers care.


I was about to move my mother out of the home, but since a new Senior Manager, a Director I believe, has now taken over the running of this home to assist with improving it - which was very much needed, she has listened to my issues, resolved my complaints, is very professional with a kind sympathetic manner.


There is also a big difference in the performance of the staff, they are more courteous, willing to assist and look smart, the new receptionist is very pleasant - a lovely refreshing change.

I am very pleased with the care and attention my mother receives at Park Avenue. The staff are very friendly and attentive to mum's needs, there are activities going on for residents to participate in, overall our family is very happy.

This is a well managed, modern and bright care home on three floors. Staff are always welcoming and have a caring attitude. An activities coordinator has recently been appointed and there are now more opportunities for the residents to join in, although this will place more demands on the care staff.
All in all I feel my mother has been well looked after in a safe and secure environment.

Charlotte

Charlotte Goodfellow

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2019

Charlotte qualified as an Adult Registered Nurse from the University of Southampton in 2014 and began her nursing career in an Accident and Emergency Department. Whilst she loved the excitement and adrenaline of working an A&E, she found herself wanting to spend more time with her patients and their families. So, she decided to discover what other avenues were available outside of the acute hospital setting.


In March 2019, Charlotte joined Park Avenue as a Bank Nurse, and found this new direction exceptionally satisfying. In October 2019, Charlotte took up the position of Deputy Manager at Park Avenue Care Home, before moving to a leadership capacity in a sister home in November 2020. Now, she has returned to Park Avenue as Home Manager, and looks forward to partnering with the people who live in our homes, their families and friends.

Olusola

Olusola Suleiman

Job Title: Administrator Joined: 2019

Olusola studied Business administrator degree at the University of East London, completing her BA HONS degree in 2008. Olusola went on to gain a variety of skills in marketing, administration and sales in a range of industries.


She joined Excelcare in December 2017 at Windmill Care Home and later moved to Park Avenue Care Home in June 2019. She enjoys meeting new people, being helpful and making a difference in people’s lives.
