Excelcare Park Avenue Care Home

She is much happier now than she has been for 2 years, she is safe and well looked after. The home dealt with the Covid situation very well and closed the home to visitors before they locked down the UK!

Dealings with them have been wonderfully smooth right from the start, and we were lucky to have a place for my aunt. Everything there is exceptionally good, not least their brilliant team, at all levels. The home is lovely, purpose-built, spacious and kept so clean and safe. The attention and care for the residents and visitors, checking their requirements and needs is second to none. There are many activities, physio etc to be involved in with a beautiful garden. The staff have regular catch up meetings keeping all up to date. It is a very happy place and their staff are a dedicated, hard-working and loving team. I am so grateful to them all. They helped my aunt a peaceful, caring passing at the end of life. Thank you to them all.

Well, what can I say, My mother came to Park Avenue just over 4 months ago, and more or less from day one she loved the care that she was receiving and her surroundings, My Mother sadly passed away recently and the support and care we received as family from Park Avenue was so appreciated at this hard time, myself and my sister visited Mum every day without fail, so Park Avenue basically became a home for us as well. My mother was treated with so much care love and dignity from the carers and nurses and appreciated the care that she was given. Mum always said if I can stay here I am not going back home, we as a family were very lucky to find such a lovely home and love and care she received. I once again thank you all for being there for my mum and the family, and would highly recommend Park Avenue to anyone who needs care.

While the care and ambience of Park Avenue have improved significantly with the appointment of a permanent manager, there are still a number of issues that require improvement.

I live in abroad and returned home knowing mum was left incapable and secure hands.

Mum was well looked after. Staff were all pleasant and caring towards mum.

Finally, every day when we come to visit mum, the carer will always give us an update on mum, there is nothing that I can fault with Park Avenue. Thank you for caring for our mother and making mum very happy.

My family are most satisfied with the standard of care and nursing, my mother has received over her 18-month residency. The interior of the building has recently been refurbished to a high standard and its level of cleanliness is high. Food is good and plentiful.

All my relative's needs are met.

My aunt has been in Park Avenue Care Home for 6 weeks and I am absolutely delighted with the care she has received since arriving. The staff are attentive and professional and nothing seems too much trouble. I would recommend this facility to anyone with the traumas of finding suitable long term care for a loved one.

The care our aunt has received since she went to live in the care home has been amazing, all her needs are being met and we couldn't be more pleased with all the staff, they are friendly, helpful and caring. We would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anybody whose loved one needs full-time care.

When the new manager arrived, things started to look up and I would now describe the home as being very well managed. Things aren't perfect - they probably never will be - and getting in to visit my mum outside 9-5 can prove a bit of a challenge, but in general, staff now know what they are doing and do it well.

Park Avenue has recently been refurbished to a very high standard.

Since the new manager has been at Park Avenue, it has changed so much for the better. She informs you of what if happening which is better, always ensures if everything is OK with me or my dad. I'm just so happy with everything and have recommended Park Avenue to another person who needs another home.

A well-run home and any concerns are willingly dealt with.

The staff and management at this home are excellent. The home is currently undergoing refurbishment and is looking bright and fresh. The activities coordinator is dedicated to ensuring all residents were active or bed-bound are engaged. Communication is excellent at both shop floor "staff" level and at management level.

This home has superb and caring Staff. Our Mum is in a newly refurbished, very clean room and we are impressed by the diligence of the staff.

My mother moved into this home several months ago, I became unhappy with the care my mother was receiving as the Manager who was in place refused to answer my complaints, would avoid seeing me to discuss issues and was rude and aggressive. One clear example was when we had a meeting scheduled, the manager text me to say she had to go to the shop and could not make the meeting. Another time she refused to come out of her office to discuss ongoing issues with my mothers care.

I was about to move my mother out of the home, but since a new Senior Manager, a Director I believe, has now taken over the running of this home to assist with improving it - which was very much needed, she has listened to my issues, resolved my complaints, is very professional with a kind sympathetic manner.

There is also a big difference in the performance of the staff, they are more courteous, willing to assist and look smart, the new receptionist is very pleasant - a lovely refreshing change.

I am very pleased with the care and attention my mother receives at Park Avenue. The staff are very friendly and attentive to mum's needs, there are activities going on for residents to participate in, overall our family is very happy.
