Our 85-year-old mum, who suffered from Alzheimer's and dementia, recently passed away. She was hospitalized last July for a couple of months and during that time was fitted with a nephrostomy tube. After being assessed by an NHS hospital, a new nursing home (Ravenscourt) was found as her previous care home was unable to facilitate this.

During mum’s brief time at Ravenscourt, we cannot praise the manager, nurses, and staff for making mum’s stay as comfortable as possible. The professionalism, care, love, and dignity shown towards mum and her family far exceeded all our expectations right up to the day she peaceably passed away. Our only wish is that we found you five years ago at the beginning of mum’s journey.

A first-class nursing home in every aspect of care. Thank you so much!

Caring for a loved one with kindness and respect is of paramount importance to us as a family, and we are of the opinion that your management and staff fulfil this role beautifully, and for that, we are very grateful. I am concerned, however, regarding the lack of activities as my husband is bedbound and appears to be visibly bored and depressed.

My dad has had exceptional care for the few months he has been a resident. The carer's truly do care about my dad. They are very attentive and know exactly what his needs are and cater for them. They liaise with us and keep us up-to-date with his wellbeing. I feel relieved and confident that he is in safe hands and as comfortable as can be. Unfortunately, my dad has not been well enough to take part in any activities but I hear them going on and all seems well organised. They have allowed us to take in our dog that my dad loves to feed with biscuits. The other residents also enjoy a pet to pamper. The home is always clean, welcoming and responsive.

A big thumbs up from me.

Caring and attentive. Whatever my mother wants the staff gives her what she requires no hassle to give her the food requested if she does not like something. She is very happy there and does not want to leave.

Choosing a care home for our elderly mother was a very daunting experience for the family but the Manager at Ravenscourt and her wonderful staff put our minds at rest. They were always available to answer any questions we had and put our minds at ease. The staff provided great care and support for the whole family which was very much appreciated. We cannot praise the staff highly enough for caring so wonderfully for our mother.

My mother was moved to Ravenscourt over two years ago following the sudden death of our father who was her main carer. She was in the final years of dementia and nothing was too much trouble from the day we arrived, such a traumatic situation was made so much easier by the kindness and compassion of everyone who works there. This home have staff that stay in their jobs because they enjoy caring, I can’t fault the service they have provided and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to other families.

I was placed in Ravenscourt Nursing Home to undertake a slow-stream rehabilitation programme after breaking my ankle. I have found all members of staff to be friendly, caring, attentive and professional. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The home is very clean and the residents' rooms are cleaned daily. The food menu is varied, and being quite a fussy eater, alternatives to the daily choices on offer can be easily accommodated. Overall, I have to say that my 5 out of 5 score is well-earned and I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to family and friends.

At Ravenscourt, they understand the need of care and support which is invaluable to the family as well as the resident.

My very first experience of a care home was at Ravenscourt Nursing Home.
I truly had no idea what to expect so felt very nervous.
The Manager and her team of caring professional and enthusiastic staff made my choice so much easier, it felt so welcoming and homely that I had every confidence they would look after my brother.
The whole team could not do enough for us, they answered my many questions throughout my brother's stay here, making us all so welcome, doing everything possible to support us all during a very difficult time, with the added pressure of Covid restrictions.
The procedures that were in place gave us confidence that all residents, staff, and visitors were in a safe environment.

My lasting memory of Ravenscourt is that my brother knew he was truly cared for, and for that, I will be forever grateful.

Cannot praise Ravenscourt enough. Quite simply they care.
Management and staff treat mother with dignity and ensure her individuality isn't taken away. The care programme is second to none, providing stimulation.
The meal plans are excellent with a four week rotation menu.
When visiting we are made to feel so welcome.
The home is warm and inviting, mother's room is personalised and comfortable.

Generally, mum is engaged and happy which is all that we could wish for.

My mother was a resident admitted from hospital on a palliative pathway. The home was the only one we approached who were willing to offer a viewing before due to Covid-19 and the staff were kind and informative, understanding how difficult the decision was for us and reassuring us that under the circumstances there would be no restrictions for the family to visit as often or for as long as we wanted. On arrival and throughout we were treated with sensitivity and flexibility despite their understandable requirement to comply with Covid-19 procedures. At every visit, we were offered food/refreshments and any requests we made for staff to attend to my mother's needs were met quickly and efficiently. They checked in on us regularly when we were there, updating us on how she had been and actions taken during our absence. Following my mother's death, due to a bureaucratic issue that arose, they were supportive and proactive to help. Would recommend it for a loved one.

My husband was admitted to the care home following treatment elsewhere. He required nursing care and Ravenscourt was selected. During his stay there he received excellent palliative care and all staff were very caring and dealt with him and all who visited him on a personal basis. All managers and staff were readily approachable and dealt with any issues raised swiftly and efficiently ensuring he was comfortable and safe during his stay.
Visits were allowed and Covid compliance requirements followed.
Sadly due to his health issues, he passed away. At this difficult time, all staff were very compassionate and caring and dealt with all necessary matters speedily, explaining what was happening and what was required throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and they were and have been very supportive.

I would thoroughly recommend Ravenscourt.

My father-in-law was referred to this nursing home following assessment in an NHS hospital. Prior to arrival, I went unannounced to the nursing home to enquire about their services. I met the home manager who took the time to clearly explain how they could help. They stressed that if there were any concerns during the stay to raise them immediately with staff to resolve the issues. When my father-in-law arrived he was dealt with in a considerate and professional manner. When we raised issues with managers such as the location of his room when a new room became available he was moved. The Covid visiting arrangements have been reinforced allowing safe visits. Managers and staff are always willing to discuss my father-in-law's condition and arrangements made to ensure medical attention both in house nursing and external visits from Doctors and therapists are arranged expeditiously. Staff and facilities are excellent and kept clean. Food has been excellent and alternatives supplied when requested.

Excellent nursing home! The staff are very caring and treat my mother with dignity and kindness. My mother has had two strokes and unable to walk or get out of bed. The staff are second to none. I’ve never met such friendly and caring people who seem to be happy in their work. My mother is so lucky to be looked after by this fantastic home. The manager and all office staff are always available to give advice when needed.

My husband came to Ravenscourt Nursing Home for respite and has now been cared for by this amazing team of people for the last 6 weeks. Their care and nursing expertise exceeds expectation as in our case, the close family is receiving so much support. I am sure that when Covid restrictions are eased, then Ravenscourt will be abuzz with relatives again. In the meantime, everything has been arranged for us to settle my husband, so his mental health needs are addressed according to his present needs, which are complex. A big thank you to the manager and all the staff.
