Having experienced an incredibly difficult year in 2023 with her health and mobility, my mum spent weeks at Ravenscourt from December 2023 in respite. The staff both admin and clinical are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum was intending to return to her bungalow at the end of the respite
period but now realises that Ravenscourt and its staff provide her with a safe and friendly environment to live. At a time when my mum was feeling rather down and wanted to go home, the staff offered her an alternative, brighter room and went out of their way to accommodate her. Due to their persistence with finding out what Mum likes to eat, she is now managing to eat a meal instead of just a few mouthfuls. I'm very grateful to everyone at Ravenscourt.

My mother has been in Ravenscourt since August and we as a family are so happy she’s there. The care she receives is excellent and any worries or issues we have are dealt with in a timely manner. From the manager to the carers all the staff are kind, polite and approachable. Special thanks to two staff
members in particular as the nursing care is excellent. I would recommend Ravenscourt.

My mum went into Ravenscourt Nursing Home in August 2023 as she has severe Vascular Dementia.
It has been a blessing and we count our lucky stars that we were able to get her into Ravens court. The care is exceptional and the staff are all so friendly and caring no matter what their role is at the
home.
They always communicate well with us and are very approachable and accommodating and take any concerns with have about Mum's health seriously and will do their utmost to help and contact any health professionals that feel can help us.
They make us feel so welcome and like we are part of one big family with them. I would highly recommend this nursing home for anyone seeking top care for their loved one.

My friend came to live here in November 2022. She had a complex personality and medical needs. Ravenscourt has been amazing in not just accommodating her needs but also making sure that she has found friendship at the Home. I can’t praise enough about this place. All cares are so empathetic and kind
that I have myself made friends with them on my visits. They work tirelessly to ensure every call from residents are attended to as soon as possible. I find kindness and resilience just beyond noble. I must mention the food which is well catered for, especially the hot food and freshly made cakes for the evening tea.

Both my parents were in Ravenscoourt. Unfortunately, my mother passed away after being there for two weeks. The compassion shown to me by all the staff was wonderful. My father is being well cared for. The food is really good - my dad has never eaten so much! The nurses are always stationed in the TV
lounge with the residents and are always helpful. I'm happy in the knowledge that my father is safe and his needs are being met.

From the moment we enquired about Dad going into Ravenscourt, the manager and all the staff have been so kind, thoughtful and caring.
Unfortunately, Dad was only in there for a few weeks before he passed away, but the care that was given to him was exceptional by everyone.
Thank you to you all.

My father was only with Ravenscourt Nursing Home for a few weeks before his passing but I have to say that we were so happy he got to spend his last days with such caring staff who treated him with such dignity and were so kind and thoughtful. All the staff I met went the extra mile and were always
so helpful to ensure all our requests were met. The communication was second to none and we never worried about dad being given the best care. Despite the fact that he could not communicate, walk or barely eat at the end he was always washed and dressed and taken to the lounge during the day and we could tell by his behaviour that his needs were being met (unlike being in hospital beforehand). We visited many care homes before selecting Ravenscourt and there is just no comparison. I would highly recommend to anyone and my mother has already said if she needs to go into one eventually it would be here!

My mother has been in Ravenscourt Nursing Home since 29th September 2022. From the outset we have been supported by management, but more importantly Mum has received outstanding care, love, kindness and attention. Mum is especially frail, bedbound due to a fall and suffered serious neurological impairment.
All staff have shown great care and professionalism, but their human touch and love is exemplary. Thank you.

Just wonderful. Staff are very engaging. I get updates on my mother's care on every visit or by phone. Always clean and tidy. The care my mother has received is amazing. I know my mother is safe, well looked after, and all her needs are met. My mother's care needs will increase because of her conditions
and I know and am thankful that Ravenscourt will be able to meet her needs every step.

I would like to say a big thank you to the staff at Ravenscourt Nursing Home who cared for my lovely aunt during her stay.
Unfortunately, she only stayed for 3 months as she passed away but the care that she received was first class. The staff treated her with kindness and with dignity. Nothing was
too much trouble for them.
The residents were all very friendly and the staff arranged for regular entertainment which the residents enjoy.
The food was all cooked in-house and the residents have a choice of food from the menu each day.
There are hairdressers on site to enable the patients to have their hair done. The two staff responsible for this are very caring.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursing home to my family and friends.

My father has been a resident for almost a year at this nursing home. He has experienced both good and poor service over this time. Generally, the staff do their duty but some are less well trained than others. In their haste, they often do show little care in support of an immobile resident fully dependent
on being lifted with hoists, sometimes causing pain and discomfort. The food is generally of poor quality and does not represent the high cost paid per week. Senior managers are unseen too!
Reply from Hilary Ryan, Manager at Ravenscourt Nursing HomeThe Manager of Ravenscourt Nursing Home has had communication with Mr M K pertaining to the care of his father who is a resident in our home. All the requests for information or actions have been dealt with as a matter of priority and have not resulted in any request for further action, or unhappiness with the response. With reference to his menu and diet, we cater for him as an individual, respecting his right of choice and he has gained weight and is in fact within his normal value range for weight and BMI. The management of Ravenscourt have an open door policy to ensure that all concerns or issues raised can be dealt with by senior management. I am sorry that Mr MK has not raised the concerns highlighted in his review but remain committed to providing the best care for his father.

I cannot praise Ravenscourt Nursing Home highly enough. From the management to the nurses/carers and the cleaning staff this home is first-class. We as a family moved my mother-in-law to Ravenscourt Nursing Home in March 2022 from another Nursing Home. What a difference it has made to her wellbeing
and the family's peace of mind knowing she is in excellent professional hands.

Our stepfather went into the care home at the end of July and was immediately given care of the highest standard. The staff and management could not have been more attentive to our father's needs.
Although he was there only a short time, the care he was given cannot be faulted or questioned.
We are
grateful for the care and compassion given by all staff at Ravenscourt to our father in his final days.
Thank you all from our family!

Our 85-year-old mum, who suffered from Alzheimer's and dementia, recently passed away. She was hospitalized last July for a couple of months and during that time was fitted with a nephrostomy tube. After being assessed by an NHS hospital, a new nursing home (Ravenscourt) was found as her previous care
home was unable to facilitate this.

During mum’s brief time at Ravenscourt, we cannot praise the manager, nurses, and staff for making mum’s stay as comfortable as possible. The professionalism, care, love, and dignity shown towards mum and her family far exceeded all our expectations right up to the day she peaceably passed away. Our only wish is that we found you five years ago at the beginning of mum’s journey.

A first-class nursing home in every aspect of care. Thank you so much!

Caring for a loved one with kindness and respect is of paramount importance to us as a family, and we are of the opinion that your management and staff fulfil this role beautifully, and for that, we are very grateful. I am concerned, however, regarding the lack of activities as my husband is bedbound
and appears to be visibly bored and depressed.

My dad has had exceptional care for the few months he has been a resident. The carer's truly do care about my dad. They are very attentive and know exactly what his needs are and cater for them. They liaise with us and keep us up-to-date with his wellbeing. I feel relieved and confident that he is
in safe hands and as comfortable as can be. Unfortunately, my dad has not been well enough to take part in any activities but I hear them going on and all seems well organised. They have allowed us to take in our dog that my dad loves to feed with biscuits. The other residents also enjoy a pet to pamper. The home is always clean, welcoming and responsive.
A big thumbs up from me.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.680)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.680) out of 10 for Ravenscourt Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.780 for Ravenscourt Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (151 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 186 Ratings = 4.78
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ravenscourt Nursing Home is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 registered maximum number of service users is 14.6, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
