Mum has improved greatly since moving to Rowanweald from another home and I fear that without the move her health would have deteriorated badly. The management and staff have been excellent at attending to Mum's needs and keeping me and my family in touch with her overall condition. I have always found the home clean and tidy and welcoming on my arrival. This week we celebrated Mum's 100th birthday along with a visit from the Mayor and Mayoress. The manager and his team excelled themselves in creating a wonderful area for some family members to celebrate with Mum, with lovely food, balloons and a cake. All the family remarked at what a lovely caring home it is that Mum is able to enjoy and how well it is run. It is hard to believe how smoothly our celebrations went when knowing that a major refurbishment was underway in the background. These works will obviously make things harder for the team but I am sure they are up to the challenge and we will all benefit from a beautiful home.

My husband was only at Rowanweald for 10 weeks. During this time he was treated with kindness and dignity despite his condition. It was unfortunate that his stay coincided with the Covid pandemic and I was not able to be with him as much as I had hoped in his final days.

My grandad was at Rowanweald for 7+ weeks for respite. The care he received was second to none; amazing!

All staff were fantastic and it was heartwarming to see the home manager and the deputy so involved in residents care. Further to this, it didn’t matter what time of the day it was both exceptionally responsive to any questions, queries and concerns!

My mum going into a care home was a very stressful situation with lots of unknowns and worry about what this meant for her and us. The whole team here were always very friendly, understanding and empathetic and as helpful as possible to all family members. My mum was respected, cared for and well looked after at all times. I would like to highlight that some members of the team I have nothing but praise for but there was one member who was exceptional and I can't really express my gratitude to her for the kindness and care she showed. My mum managed to return home and this process meant more interactions and help required, but she explained everything thoroughly and personably and made sure this went as smoothly as possible. The one trait I would like to shine a light on is empathy here and we will be grateful forever. Thank you.

My father is very well cared for by the staff at Rowanweald. Standards are high and all members of the team are friendly and welcoming. It has been difficult for all during lockdown but the team have done their best to keep us in touch with our loved ones. The manager keeps us informed of what is happening and always invites our input.

Manager and under manager are brilliant, I've been through a really rough time and they are so kind and supportive. The care he is receiving is second to none and all the staff especially nurses and key workers in taking care of him which is no mean feat, I am very grateful for the way it's gone keeping everyone safe. Thank you so much to them all.

My mother went into the care home in October 2019 and I am so pleased she is there. It is a wonderful place and the staff are so kind and caring. I have managed to visit through parts of the pandemic and they keep us regularly up to date. She has a lovely room and the food is very good. We are kept up to date with everything and are often asked if there is anything we would particularly like to focus on concerning her health. I have told many people about the care home and would really recommend it to others.

From when my mother entered Rowanweald in August 2020 until she passed away in January 2021, she was treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. Although she was nursed in bed for the most part, many of the staff took time to talk with her and listen to her stories and also asked me about her life. While updates about her health were necessary, it was equally important to know about her state of mind. Being able to visit in the last days of her life meant a lot. Regular informative emails were sent by the manager.

I continue to praise the home for the wonderful care my mother is receiving and the support relatives are getting at these difficult times. It’s hard not being able to visit more than we can but understand the reason why. This is made easier knowing my mum is getting wonderful care, support and company. I can’t thank them enough.

Dad was already in a Sanctuary Residential Home but fell and broke his hip last Christmas while in my care at my home. Following a spell in hospital, he transferred to Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home and over time, although very frail, has recovered fantastically well. This improvement is no doubt down to the wonderful care given to him by the staff from top to bottom at the Home. My dad is happy and comfortable, receiving the attention deserved.
A special note of thanks must go to the leadership team at Rowanweald who run a very happy, caring and efficient team.
I am aware a complete refurbishment was started just before Dad moved into the home. Unfortunately, this halted when the first COVID-19 'Lockdown' began. It is hoped the work will restart soon. I am sure the 'Cleanliness' and 'Rooms' grading will then rise.

Overall, I must again commend all the staff for the care they provide for Dad - Thank you so much. I would have no hesitation recommending Sanctuary to others.

Since the day Mum arrived, it felt like home from home. As always, any kind of change can be daunting, but with the help of everyone, Mum's induction was wonderful. The level of engagement is tremendous and would happily recommend this home to anyone found in the same position.

My wife came to Rowanweald in November 2019 as she has many needs, including dementia, and requires a lot of physical assistance. I have found all members of staff at Rowanweald to be extremely helpful and very kind to my wife. I was worried about leaving my wife in a care home, but honestly feel she is being well cared for in the best place for her.

I could not be happier with the care that Dad is receiving. Everyone I have met at Rowanweald has been caring, thoughtful and responsive – the team are simply the best. I live some distance away and I am given peace of mind knowing that someone is caring for Dad and always looking out for him. At 98-years-old plus Dad has even got used to using FaceTime thanks to Rowanweald. In these difficult times, Rowanweald has clearly and consistently kept me up to date with everything, and I feel confident that they are truly professional in everything they do.

Everyone at Rowanweald provides an incredible service and genuinely cares. They go the extra mile in all aspects of their job - and that has been especially so during the Coronavirus pandemic. Although they had to halt personal visits for a time, they adapted, offering video calls and that alike. All the staff are incredibly friendly, as well as good at their job. They form real relationships with the residents and their relatives, and it's always a pleasure to visit.
