Having recently undergone an impressive £4 million refurbishment, Rowanweald looks as wonderful as it feels. But it’s the team, which includes highly skilled nurses, which make this home feel really special.

The team are dedicated to enriching the lives of their residents and their loved ones, who are embraced into life in the home and are welcome to visit at any time. They are passionate about residents having an active role to play in how their home is run and most importantly – having choice.

The home’s resident ambassador is proud of his role and does everything from welcoming new residents to the home and providing feedback to the team, to creating a special spot in the garden for his fellow residents.

There is always so much going on at the home, from gentle exercise sessions and arts and crafts, to gardening and music.

As part of not-for-profit Sanctuary Care’s extensive investment into the home, Rowanweald has a beautifully refurbished hair salon for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser. There is also a new café area, which is lovely spot to relax with loved ones.

The residents enjoy home-cooked food prepared by the chef in the dining rooms, with freshly baked biscuits and cakes for afternoon tea. And there are welcoming lounges to relax and enjoy activities.

In the centre of the home is an enclosed courtyard garden, with raised flower beds and seating, plus there is another side garden.

Situated close to a country park, Rowanweald overlooks the High Street of Harrow Weald and has ample parking.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1508 and for nursing care £1743, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

Always a very warm welcome when visiting my friend, who has now been a resident here for three months. She is well looked after and says she is happy here as well as feeling safe and secure. Her medical needs are well cared for by a very friendly and caring staff. The manager is always approachable
and readily gives up her time if you have any general questions or queries.

I have peace of mind that my mother is being looked after well. Staff are professional and friendly. I am kept up to date on how my mother is and I’m informed if there are any problems. The home is clean the rooms are lovely.

The manager has been very accommodating at looking after my papa after his needs changed from residential to nursing. Gave him the special unit for his care needs.

My father and family are so fortunate to have been recommended Rowanweald to take care of my father. Absolutely exceptional on all levels but above all the kindness and compassion of the staff is what makes this home special.
My dad's case has been very complex and their attention to him has been

Due to his complex health needs, my husband has been living at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home since November 2022. It is a lovely home, and we know that he is being well looked after. He has a lovely room and wet room. The nursing, support staff and management are extremely kind, patient and
caring and treat him with dignity and respect. We could not have asked for a more supportive team to help us. We visit regularly, and they are always welcoming, providing us with an update on his progress. The manager, deputy manager, nursing and care team can never do enough. As a family, we are very grateful. Thank you all.

I must give full credit to the Deputy Manager and her team. My mum was in their care for only three days before she died, but the efforts made by the deputy and her team were excellent. From the first time I visited Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home I realised that this was the right place for
my mum - sometimes you just know instinctively if something is right. I am sad that my mum could not stay there longer as I truly believe this was the best place for her.
Although the "top tips" say don't mention individuals I feel it's important to identify those who exceed expectations - the deputy manager demonstrated kindness, caring and respect to both my situation and me personally. If I could give her 6 stars I would!

The management of this care home have created a caring and clinically focused environment that delivers excellent care for the residents. From reception to the carers, we can honestly say that the staff at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home truly care for my mum. We feel very welcome whenever we
visit and know that if we ever needed anything that the staff and management would listen and do their best to meet what was needed. Thank you Rowanweald for the genuine love and care you provide for mum. We know she is in safe hands.

My Mum has been living at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home since October 2021. She is very settled and happy at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home. All of the carers are kind, caring and treat Mum with respect and dignity. It really is a lovely home, she has a lovely room and is very well
looked after. We as her family are kept up to date on what is going on at the home and how Mum is. We are able to book appointments to visit Mum as often as we like and all the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Thank you to everyone at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home.

Really friendly people, my father is very happy there especially as there are many social activities. Rowanweald managed to go through the whole covid thing without a hitch. Good location, nice and quiet but handy for public transport and local shops.

My Dad has been living in Rowanweald since November 2019 and it feels very much his home. He is very well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. From the managers, nurses, carers, admin, activities to housekeeping they always have a welcoming greeting to residents and their visitors. The Manager
and Deputy Manager have been very supportive throughout and definitely go the extra mile.


There have only been a few cases of Covid and these are managed swiftly to prevent any further spread to other residents. Relatives are informed promptly and updated when visits can resume. It is easy to book appointments and reassuring to know everyone has a lateral flow test before visits.

Mum has improved greatly since moving to Rowanweald from another home and I fear that without the move her health would have deteriorated badly. The management and staff have been excellent at attending to Mum's needs and keeping me and my family in touch with her overall condition. I have always found
the home clean and tidy and welcoming on my arrival. This week we celebrated Mum's 100th birthday along with a visit from the Mayor and Mayoress. The manager and his team excelled themselves in creating a wonderful area for some family members to celebrate with Mum, with lovely food, balloons and a cake. All the family remarked at what a lovely caring home it is that Mum is able to enjoy and how well it is run. It is hard to believe how smoothly our celebrations went when knowing that a major refurbishment was underway in the background. These works will obviously make things harder for the team but I am sure they are up to the challenge and we will all benefit from a beautiful home.

My husband was only at Rowanweald for 10 weeks. During this time he was treated with kindness and dignity despite his condition. It was unfortunate that his stay coincided with the Covid pandemic and I was not able to be with him as much as I had hoped in his final days.

My grandad was at Rowanweald for 7+ weeks for respite. The care he received was second to none; amazing!
All staff were fantastic and it was heartwarming to see the home manager and the deputy so involved in residents care. Further to this, it didn’t matter what time of the day it was both exceptionally

My mum going into a care home was a very stressful situation with lots of unknowns and worry about what this meant for her and us. The whole team here were always very friendly, understanding and empathetic and as helpful as possible to all family members. My mum was respected, cared for and well looked
after at all times. I would like to highlight that some members of the team I have nothing but praise for but there was one member who was exceptional and I can't really express my gratitude to her for the kindness and care she showed. My mum managed to return home and this process meant more interactions and help required, but she explained everything thoroughly and personably and made sure this went as smoothly as possible. The one trait I would like to shine a light on is empathy here and we will be grateful forever. Thank you.

My father is very well cared for by the staff at Rowanweald. Standards are high and all members of the team are friendly and welcoming. It has been difficult for all during lockdown but the team have done their best to keep us in touch with our loved ones. The manager keeps us informed of what is happening
and always invites our input.
