Both my parents moved into Rowanweald just over a year ago. They have different needs, and the carers and staff always do their very best to make them comfortable and happy. Everyone is very friendly and approachable - management, reception, nurses and carers. Mum and Dad spend the afternoons in the lounge together. Although their dementia means they forget a lot of things, they still remember each other.

I am so happy we found a very good nursing home like Rowanweald for Mum and Dad to belong to, with the added bonus that it is also close enough to make our frequent visits easy.

Visited Mum at the care home for Christmas with my disabled sister, and we had a lovely Christmas dinner and a very enjoyable time. The staff here are fantastic and treat Mum well and with respect. They are friendly and empathetic, and the care home manager is absolutely fantastic and has been a great help. The receptionists are always welcoming and friendly, and I am happy Mum has enjoyed staying at Rowanweald.

My husband, who had dementia and a range of health issues, was a resident for three months before he died, and I shall always be grateful for the excellent care he received. I have been volunteering one day a week since December 2022, helping with a wide range of activities, serving lunch and looking after the garden. The staff are very caring; they interact very well with the residents and with each other. The residents enjoy the activities with every effort made to help and encourage them to participate. The meals are good and served in a friendly manner, and staff take account of residents' preferences wherever possible. Visitors and volunteers are made welcome, and you sense a happy and caring atmosphere when you walk in the door. I certainly look forward to my weekly visit.

My mother has been a resident in the home now for several months following my father's death. We booked Mum in for a 2 week trial but after 5 days she decided to stay permanently. Mum loves being part of the Rowanweald family. She is treated with kindness and respect by every member of staff. Before she entered the home she had lost weight and was relying on food supplements but now she enjoys every freshly cooked meal, sitting with her new friends. Mum frequently comments it's like living in a 5* hotel but with the benefits of being cared for by wonderful staff. Mum is definitely much happier and healthier than she has been for a long while.

Since I put my mum in your care home, I have never seen her so happy. She has made so many long-lasting friends here, including the staff. Her needs are looked after with amazing care and attention. I can't thank the home enough for their hard work and dedication.

My mum has been in Rowanweald for a few months now. The care from the staff is excellent. They go out of their way to make Mum feel at home and she has now settled in and seems very happy. She tells me the food is really excellent (particularly the soup!) and looks forward to her meals. The home is kept spotlessly clean and there are activities each weekday. I think, most importantly, everyone is very friendly and whenever you walk in there is a big welcome.

My father went to Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home in December 2018 and passed away 4 years later.
During his time there I can honestly say I had a very good relationship not only with the nurses and carers but also with the management team.
Anyone considering moving a family member or friend to a care home should definitely pay a visit to Rowanweald.
The staff at all levels were very kind and patient with me. I visited regularly and especially as his health deteriorated I saw the changes and they willingly explained what was happening to him. They were open, honest and transparent.
I would recommend to anyone visiting someone in care to be involved and visit as much as possible to build up a relationship with the people looking after your loved one, see how hard they work and how willing they are to spend time explaining the changes that are occurring.

I have stayed in touch, can pop by for a chat and still be just as important to them where my father spent the last 4 years of his life.

In the three months my friend has resided at Rowanweald, she has been well cared for. All staff are friendly and welcoming and have clearly made a real effort to get to know and understand her and she seems happy in their care. It is reassuring to know that my friend is safe and that staff are very aware of and supportive of her needs.

Always a very warm welcome when visiting my friend, who has now been a resident here for three months. She is well looked after and says she is happy here as well as feeling safe and secure. Her medical needs are well cared for by a very friendly and caring staff. The manager is always approachable and readily gives up her time if you have any general questions or queries.

My father and family are so fortunate to have been recommended Rowanweald to take care of my father. Absolutely exceptional on all levels but above all the kindness and compassion of the staff is what makes this home special.

My dad's case has been very complex and their attention to him has been nothing short of brilliant and for that, I will forever be eternally grateful.

Due to his complex health needs, my husband has been living at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home since November 2022. It is a lovely home, and we know that he is being well looked after. He has a lovely room and wet room. The nursing, support staff and management are extremely kind, patient and caring and treat him with dignity and respect. We could not have asked for a more supportive team to help us. We visit regularly, and they are always welcoming, providing us with an update on his progress. The manager, deputy manager, nursing and care team can never do enough. As a family, we are very grateful. Thank you all.

I must give full credit to the Deputy Manager and her team. My mum was in their care for only three days before she died, but the efforts made by the deputy and her team were excellent. From the first time I visited Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home I realised that this was the right place for my mum - sometimes you just know instinctively if something is right. I am sad that my mum could not stay there longer as I truly believe this was the best place for her.

Although the "top tips" say don't mention individuals I feel it's important to identify those who exceed expectations - the deputy manager demonstrated kindness, caring and respect to both my situation and me personally. If I could give her 6 stars I would!

My Dad has been living in Rowanweald since November 2019 and it feels very much his home. He is very well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. From the managers, nurses, carers, admin, activities to housekeeping they always have a welcoming greeting to residents and their visitors. The Manager and Deputy Manager have been very supportive throughout and definitely go the extra mile.

There have only been a few cases of Covid and these are managed swiftly to prevent any further spread to other residents. Relatives are informed promptly and updated when visits can resume. It is easy to book appointments and reassuring to know everyone has a lateral flow test before visits.
