If the responsible CCG has assessed that the Resident is eligible for FNC, any payments received will be deducted from the Total Fees. The Resident will, however, remain liable for the Total Fees if FNC funding is withdrawn or if the CCG defaults on payment.

Coloma Court is a caring care home that puts 'care' into its name. The staff look after all the resident's needs and provides a relaxed environment however demanding and complex are the needs of a resident. my mum has been very happy for the three and a half years that she has lived here. I could not
ask anymore from the staff and management.
Reply from Justine Ellory, Business Development Manager at Coloma CourtDear Sara,

Your words truly mean a great deal to us. At Coloma Court, we are incredibly proud of our team and the way they live out the meaning of "care" every single day. Supporting residents with compassion, patience and dignity - no matter how complex their needs - is at the heart of everything we do.
We're so pleased to hear that your mum has been happy with us over the past three and a half years. It is a real privilege to care for her, and we're grateful for the trust you place in our staff and management team.
Thank you again for your kind feedback - it will be shared with the whole team.

Rosina was admitted about ten days ago and had had some bad experience in hospital with a broken hip and Alzheimer's. She has been really well looked after and has begun to her usual happy self, which is a result of good and friendly help by all concerned. Many thanks.
Reply from Natasha Leslie, Registered Manager at Coloma CourtThank you so much for taking the time to share your kind feedback about Rosina's stay with us.

I visited my grandma for her 100th Birthday and was so impressed by the effort and care staff took to make my Grandma's day special. They decorated the room, made wonderful food and one lady even wrote a poem. It must be so hard to work as carers, but despite that they went above and beyond for my grandma.
It was really touching to see how well cared for and loved she is.
Her room is also beautiful and she does activities when she is well enough .
Reply from Natasha Leslie, Registered Manager at Coloma CourtThank you, for your kind review your grandmother had a lovely day receiving the Kings letter, it was also nice to see family and friend's who had traveled far and wide to make the day special for her, it was memorable day for all involved in the preparation and all who attend, once again thank you for the review.

My mum had a sudden decline in November 2024 and went to hospital, she was unable to recover to be well enough to go home. She is currently in respite care at Coloma Court. They have been so welcoming to her, they really made her feel settled and at home and put our minds at rest. My mum is beautifully
tended to; she is clean and well dressed, her skin is creamed and looked after, she is loving the food and activities and they try their best to encourage her (no easy task) to join in everything she can. Thank you for your care and love for mum.

Overall we are pleased with care my mother received over the past few weeks, however we provided complan because she eats so little. Normally she would go through one box a week, she went through one box in 3 weeks despite frequent requests to give the complan. All staff were very friendly and caring
towards my mother.

Coloma Court is a safe and welcoming space for mum. Staff are caring and professional. I can visit at any time, no appointment needed which gives me confidence that mum is being cared for at all times. She can be a handful but staff soon got to know her ways and carry out all aspects of her care with
efficiency and professionalism. Thank you Coloma.

We both found the staff very friendly and helpful. My dad said he enjoyed the stay but he felt the food was not exciting but just acceptable and there was not enough choice on some occasions. The only extra improvement would be for quick staff responsiveness when needing the toilet. He would use the
home again if needed.

I was very concerned how my friend would accept residential care. I am very pleased with the care and attention that the staff provide to their residents. They understand the problems and do everything to help people adjust. More to the point they also understand how this affects spouses, family and
friends. I cannot fault their efforts and level of care provided. The rooms are kept clean and tidy and there is always enough staff on hand to provide more personal attention when required. The atmosphere is loving and positive with the residents treated with care and dignity.

My Mum has lived here for 2 years. I couldn’t ask for better care. All the staff are very attentive, very kind, and put my mum’s best interests first. She is very frail with many medical needs but always looks immaculately clean and comfortable. The rooms and building are spotlessly clean, and Mum
has a lovely rural view from her large window. Whenever I have spoken to reception, care staff, or administration I have always found them to be very helpful, understanding, and courteous. This is a lovely care home.

This is an excellent care home. My dad lived here for 15 months until the end of his life, we could not have asked for better care. All the staff are attentive, friendly and kind, and really put residents’ best interests at the centre of their work. Staff retention is very good, so my Dad got to know
the carers looking after him, which is so important. He was frail with many medical needs, but always immaculately clean and comfortable. End-of-life care for him was exemplary, we are so grateful. The home is very well run, and management organise regular relatives meetings. For residents who wish to take part, there are varied activities and entertainment. The rooms and building are large, light and airy in an attractive semi-rural setting.

My mum became a resident at Coloma Court for a very short time only. All I can say is that I truly wish I had taken steps to move her there long before I did. My sister and I are very happy with the level of care our mum receives at Coloma Court. The care staff are caring and compassionate and are always willing to reassure us about our mum. The nursing staff are excellent and will always update us on our mum's medical needs. It is great to have the digital
care system in place as an added reassurance. The management are doing all that they can to make Coloma Court a 'home-from-home' for the residents. They are honest and innovative and it is great to have regular relatives meetings.
We are also impressed with the number of activities that happen each week and the freedom that is given to the residents to attend if they wish.
Our Mum's assessment of Coloma Court - 'I love it here'.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.818)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.818) out of 10 for Coloma Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.868 for Coloma Court is calculated as follows: ( (188 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 212 Ratings = 4.868
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Coloma Court is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 68 registered maximum number of service users is 13.6, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
