Funding & Fees What's included?

Fees listed are without FUNDED NURSING CARE CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE NHS
If your admission to the care home is assessed as requiring nursing care, you may be entitled to funding by the NHS. This is called NHS Funded Nursing Care Contribution (FNC) and is a contribution made by the NHS towards supporting the provision of registered nursing care to eligible care home residents. The payment is made directly by the NHS to the care home where the nursing care is being provided, and the Resident does not receive any money directly.
If the responsible CCG has assessed that the Resident is eligible for FNC, any payments received will be deducted from the Total Fees. The Resident will, however, remain liable for the Total Fees if FNC funding is withdrawn or if the CCG defaults on payment.

As the next of kin for my mother and one who also lives outside the UK, I am delighted with the incredible care and attention shown to my myself and my mother from the moment I secured a room for her and helped her with the transition into the residence. The staff have been amazing in the way they
have helped mom settle and feel safe and secure there. They have bent over backwards to accommodate me so that I could spend some time with mom while I was in the UK and have accommodated others who have sought to visit mom in my absence. My mother often tells me how kind and caring everyone is and it feels good to know she is in such good hands while I am so far away. The staff are always extremely helpful whenever I call to video chat with mom and they have treated all my own questions and concerns with utmost respect and attention.
I can’t find words enough to say how grateful and at peace I am to know that my precious mom is in such good hands there. Thank you all!

Coloma Court is a lovely clean and welcoming nursing home. My mother has been a resident for two and a half years and has settled well. On the whole, the staff are caring and supportive with some showing real empathy with the residents.

I am so pleased that my mother, with mixed dementia, has been integrated into a floor that is not purposefully for dementia. It has allowed her to maintain more independence. I am kept informed about her care by staff and the GP that visits the home. If there are any issues they are dealt with promptly.
We are living in unprecedented times but I hope that once some kind of normal has resumed, things like visits, activities and going outside, can start again.

My father was a resident of Coloma Court Care Home in the St Anne's Dementia Unit from the 1st of November 2018. During that time he received sub-standard care. There is a handful of staff that are very caring and take their job seriously, but there are just as many that don't and are more interested
in being on their telephone, than interacting with the dementia patients. Prior to the pandemic, we were looking at other options to remove my father from Coloma Court Care Home, but unfortunately, outside events took over. My father passed away in April 2020, but had this not happened, we would have removed him from there.

The care provided to my aunt by the nursing staff at Coloma Court over the 7 years or so that she was there, was outstanding. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the administration at their head office. In fact it has been the exact opposite. Since my aunt passed away in January this year my several
phone calls to resolve the situation regarding an outstanding invoice have all been ignored.

Mum has been cared for with compassion, respect and genuine kindness ever since she arrived at Coloma Court in October 2017. The carers, nurses, admin staff, cleaners and kitchen staff have all been fabulous, making this feel like a real friendly and happy home. Every one of mum's needs has been met
without delay and action has been taken to ensure she has all the help needed.
The building is so clean, always has a pleasant smell and the staff are as welcoming to visitors as they are caring for the residents.
I have worked in the Health Service all my adult life and I can say, without a doubt that I cannot imagine a nicer place for my lovely mum to be.

I expect a high standard of care as I was a college trained nursery nurse which included a short spell at St Thomas hospital to cover newborn babies.
I mostly get their care her at Coloma Court though there is often the odd carer one doesn't always get on with. Also, I have excellent hearing so of
course other residents t.v's or radio's can be tiresome.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.818)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.818) out of 10 for Coloma Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.868 for Coloma Court is calculated as follows: ( (188 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 212 Ratings = 4.868
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Coloma Court is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 68 registered maximum number of service users is 13.6, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I am an experienced, supportive, caring, and efficient leader with over 20 years of experience in the Health and Social Care sector and over 10 years in a management position.

I have worked in various Leadership and Management positions within the healthcare sector, with extensive experience working in partnership with external stakeholders and managing large teams.

I have love and passion for leading a team and being supportive of my colleagues as well as the residents and their families. I have worked with several client groups and their needs include people with Complex Physical and Emotional needs, Mental Health needs, and Behaviours that challenge Epilepsy and Dementia. The skills and competence obtained from studying for a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care have enabled me to successfully plan, lead and implement change within a healthcare setting.

I have a strong work ethic, and I am proud to work in the care sector, which has been recognised by NHS England and CQC, who complimented me on my leadership style, determination, and commitment to implement change, working as one team. I always put people first, show kindness and still have the energy to love life and make it meaningful for myself and those in my care.

In my spare time, I train to run half marathons and raise money for local charities. I have a keen interest in current Care Standards, legislation and Innovation, which includes– Person-centred Assessment and Care Planning, staff and carers training and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS), and designing and implementing Best Practice Guidelines for Older People and People who live with Dementia.
