A weight has been taken from my shoulders when I could no longer care for my husband as I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Woodlands were so kind and caring that a painful situation was made a bit easier because they were so kind.

In just a month, my mum is beginning to feel really at home here. The carers treat her as if she was a loved member of their own family and keep me well informed. My only concern is that there aren't enough activities to keep her stimulated but I'm reassured that the new management will be addressing this very soon.

Mum has been extremely well cared for since she moved in four years ago. The staff are all friendly, caring and considerate. The food is very good. The rooms have plenty of wardrobe space and the whole place is kept very clean and tidy. The garden is nice with plenty of sun and shade and is a relaxing place to sit. The home is efficiently run and has a nice atmosphere.

Staff and management looking after my aunty very well.

She is always clean and fed well. She is very happy to be in this care home. With all her illness (she is in with her memory loss), she makes many mistakes but care staff are always happy to help her and support her needs. This is a very good care home.

Initially, we were taken in by the look and feel of Woodlands. Modern, light, airy rooms. Staff seemed friendly. Don't be fooled by this! Most staff were unhelpful, lazy and rude. No attempt was made to alter medication (via GP) and Mum was given 4 sachets of laxative daily, even though she clearly didn't need it! Distressing for Mum and us. Certain tablets were ticked off as given but weren't! Mum's teeth and hearing aid were often missing, the latter was lost (£1,200)! Communication was not forthcoming and we had to 'badger' them for any info. The whole experience still upsets me now! Never again!

I shall be 94 in 25 days time. I am very content to be living in Woodlands. I really enjoyed the Garden Fete this year. All the staff are kind and pleasant. At times, they are very heavily loaded. There is always a choice of 3 dishes for meals. Some are not to my taste but I am a fairly old man (I was more adventurous when I was younger). I have been here 5 years and 7 months now and I observe what goes on. I am very pleased to receive a visitor or visitors for a chat. (It is very rare to have a serious conversation with anyone here for intermediate care) or other residents.

I moved to Woodlands on 20th February 2018. The staff are pleasant and helpful and work happily as a team. Any requests are dealt with quickly. The chef serves a varied and interesting menu with plenty of choice. The bedrooms are comfortable and en-suite. My room has a lovely view over a park. It is quiet outside. There is a varied programme of entertainment and exercise. One teacher does a seated yoga session, quite challenging. Taking part is, of course, voluntary. There are two spacious rooms and lots of areas where we can sit and chat or read. There is also a lovely garden where we can walk or sit.

I am very pleased with Woodlands House. My two friends have settled in very well. I have no complaints to make. Everything is first class. There is a very nice atmosphere there. The staff are most helpful and caring. If I ever needed a care home for myself I would certainly choose Woodlands House.

The care home is one of the most welcoming and friendly homes I have ever been to.

The management style and flexibility between residents and staff is unique and can be seen how important it is in the daily well being of our elderly. Sceptical at first, I'm now convinced that the great character and conduct by all staff including the care home manager has definitely made what people may assume a care home into an actual loving home. When asking residents of their feelings they were very happy with how routines are personalised and tailored to their needs.

My mother originally stayed in the rehab unit and we were very impressed with the overall standard, it was like being in a hotel. Very clean, staff friendly and helpful, lovely food, nothing a problem, so that when my mother needed residential care, we wanted her to go there as other care homes viewed were unacceptable. The manager kindly went out of his way to accommodate my mother, even though we were informed by social services, no vacancies.

My father has been at Woodlands since July 2017 and to date, we have found the home to be extremely caring and thoughtful with regard to his daily needs and comfort. The surroundings of the home are very comfortable and bright, the food is well thought out and home cooked and very varied. There are often outside entertainers who visit and put on a show for the residents to help them interact and stimulate them. Utmost the home genuinely care for the residents and treat them with dignity.

As I am a friend who visits twice a week I don't feel I can answer all the questions, but I have visited friends and family in different homes and I think Woodlands is the best and also the staff.

Woodlands Care Home provided the most wonderful care for my beloved Aunt, when she had dementia, from 2015 - 2017. From the very beginning, it was apparent that this care home really did care: the manager interviewed my Aunt and found out what she would need to make Woodlands feel like home and organised a personalised care regime for her. She had her own things around her and access to a newspaper and the news, regular haircuts, singing and activities which she thoroughly enjoyed and most of all, caring and supportive staff who genuinely held her in their affection. The staff at Woodlands had been so hard working, kind and supportive, they were the natural choice when my father started to deteriorate rapidly last month. Again, the care has been excellent and the manager is always available to listen to feedback and answer queries and the office staff are incredibly supportive as well; which makes such a difference. I really can't thank them enough.
