New Meppershall Care Home

My wife was transferred to this care home from hospital in a very poorly and confused condition. The staff were very understanding and respectful. Due to the long battle she had endured she, unfortunately, was only at this care home from Friday to the following Wednesday when she passed away. In the time she was there all members of staff were considerate, respectful, helpful and compassionate, not only toward my wife but to myself and other family members when visiting. Even at my wife's funeral, a member of staff attended to pay her respects.

My sister has been a resident of New Meppershall Care Home since February 2017 when she had suddenly become unable to live independently. There was little choice, so I was relieved and delighted to find New Meppershall. The home is clean and well cared for and the staff are professional, friendly and helpful. They make my sister and her visitors feel welcome and show affection towards her and other residents. Although my sister's dementia makes her difficult, the carers treat her with patience and respect. She moved to a different room earlier this year giving her more space and her own en suite and she seems happy there. Activities for the residents have seemed a bit variable but I am pleased that a new team is being formed to improve the issue. New Meppershall is not the most convenient place for me to visit as I am in the next county, but I have found nothing to compare with this home which would be more accessible.

My wife has been resident in New Meppershall Care Home for more than three years, suffering from increasing dementia. During that time she has been looked after by a succession of carers, all of whom have treated her with care and consideration.

My mum came here for respite, so we could have a holiday. She liked it so much she did not want to come home. She is looked after so well by the most caring staff that attend to her needs with a smile on their faces. I couldn't thank them enough for their dedication. Mum is very happy there and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I would highly recommend this home to anyone as superb.

After my father suffered another stoke he went here after he was transferred from hospital. On every visit the place and staff were amazing, always clean and tidy and staff very cheerful and helpful.

I truly believe if it wasn't for the staff there my father wouldn't be with us today, he is almost back to 100% of his old self.

I cannot praise too highly the care and consideration shown to my brother-in-law during his stay at New Meppershall. The staff are friendly and dedicated and cannot do enough to ensure his comfort.

Very modern and spacious care home. Both of my parents are well looked after. Mum is totally dependent on care for everything including eating and drinking. She is treated with the utmost respect and staff are always willing to spend time with her and make her smile. Dad is well looked after but still tries to be a little too independent. He is at risk of falling and staff are very aware of this and keep a close eye on him. I feel totally confident with the care they both receive. As I live quite a distance away it is comforting to know they are both being looked after so well. I find all staff, carers, nurses, cleaners and office staff very approachable and willing to help. Nothing is too much trouble.

The nursing and overall care my mother is receiving at New Meppershall is exemplary. The staff are totally professional, friendly, warm and truly caring.

My mum now feels not only very comfortable but completely safe with the right level of nursing she requires for her condition. Her room and the facilities are superb and visitors are made to feel very welcome too. We could not have found a better safe haven for her.

After viewing a number of care homes we were relieved to find Meppershall, it was clean and bright, the decor and furniture is refreshingly modern. The staff are friendly and are very interactive with their residents family and friends. They should also pride themselves on their activities, so much thought goes into the resident's needs and likes. Dad was terrified on his first day (heartbreaking) but the next day I found him sitting in the lounge relaxed and smiling - I was amazed - and from that day forward he never mentioned leaving or going home which proved he felt safe. They took great care of his personal hygiene and well-being, they would contact me immediately with any concerns. If I had any issues or wanted any changes with Dads care it would be actioned without delay. They were so supportive to the family when Dad moved from Dementia to Nursing. I will be forever grateful for the care, attention, love and kindness the staff gave my Dad and also for the support they gave us. Thank You.

Great home with wonderful, caring staff. Clean, good food and would recommend to anyone should the need arise.

Meppershall Nursing Home was home for my Father for 18 months before he died at the age of 97. His time there was a happy and contented one with outstanding care from everyone that he came in contact with. Without the care and support from staff, his family would have struggled immensely as putting our Dad in a home was not an easy decision and one we tried to avoid. The staff were very friendly and work very hard. Looking after someone with dementia is not an easy job and all the staff were patient and understanding of the needs our Dad had. We will always be truly grateful.

Food was good too, I would certainly stay here myself!

Home is well kept with a very friendly atmosphere. Staff have time for everyone, relatives as well as residents. Mum is always up and dressed whenever I visit. She is well looked after and is comfortable in her surroundings. I am kept very well informed of any problems and what needs to be done. I do not have any worries as Mum is in very good hands.

Security levels very high. Staff all extremely friendly. Meppershall Home is more for longer term residents and my experience of my mother's short stay would lend me to recommend to anybody.

When she passed, carers and management were excellent, they couldn't do enough and though they were always professional some were genuinely upset at Mum's passing. My experience - comfortable, secure, well-run facility, with some excellent, professional, genuinely caring staff.
