Reviews

8.6 Park House Nursing Care Centre has a Review Score of 8.6 (8.563)

The Review Score of 8.6 (maximum of 10) for Park House Nursing Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 4 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Park House Nursing Care Centre in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.563 for Park House Nursing Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (29 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.563

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park House Nursing Care Centre is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.5

    2. Target of 6 positive Reviews (30 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 3 Reviews ÷ 6 Target = 0.500

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My partner went into care in March 2010 and died on 26 March 2017 with Altzheimer's. From the day he went into the home, he was loved and cared for, so he was very happy there and whatever he asked for, if it was possible for them, he had it.

They did all they could with true happiness for him and the home and to the very last week he was very well cared for, as well as my family and his.

Park House made my stepdad feel loved and cared for, for the 7 years he was with them. He was very happy being there. Most of the team always played with him, joked and looked after him when he was having bad days. I think it is a lovely care home who have also cared with my Mum when she visited him at the home, even after his death. They have been very kind.

Our relative chose to go into Park House and was very happy, saying "this is my home". She was there for just over 7 and a half years. As dementia took over, she could be very difficult at times but was always treated with great kindness and respect by all the staff. I never once heard anyone raise their voice to her.
She was treated as an individual and the staff went out of their way to try and find out things that she liked and to make sure she was happy. Everyone knew her well, from the ladies in the kitchen to the manager and the owner and all would pop their head around the door to see if she was alright and have a quick chat - a real "home from home". Although everything possible was done to prevent falls, my relative's health problems meant she was more susceptible than many. If one happened, or she was unwell, I was always contacted and told how she was. When she died in December 2016 in Park House, it was very peaceful and a senior nurse was with her.
