My Mother-in-law was in Taymer for 5 weeks of respite care after a fall at home. She absolutely thrived and the staff were so friendly. It felt very warm and homely and was a pleasure to visit.

A very warm welcoming nursing home for my Mum. After leaving hospital, went to the nursing home for physio. Whilst there Mum's mobility was improved. Mum enjoyed her stay, company, staff very friendly and helpful.Managed by a hard wording lady, nothing was too much trouble.

My husband has and is treated and cared for very well.

All the staff and management are very kind and caring in every way.

As soon as you enter the premises there is a good feeling about the home and everyone is treated with respect.

It is a pleasant place for both patients and visitors.

People make a care home and the people who work at The Taymer are very caring and committed to their residents.

My mother would never have chosen to go into a care home being a strong, independent person. However, needs must and she arrived in December last year, non-communitive and hardly eating anything. Although she is bed bound and doesn't leave her room and she has been gently coaxed into eating and speaking more. She is monitored well and repositioned regularly. She sees lots of different people who work there and with her door open can see the movement in the corridor and hear the day to day workings of the home.

My father, however, on his own at home, cooks mini meals from the supermarket, does the crossword but is lonely especially in the evenings.

The care my mother has received at the Taymer has been exceptional. The care home manager and all the staff are just brilliant.
My mum says the food is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble.

I would really like to commend everyone and they have really helped both my mum and our family cope with what has been a really difficult time.

Overall Experience
My twin sister entered Taymer Nursing Home gravely ill with numerous problems, in a lot of pain, reluctant to eat or drink and quite depressed. Her condition has improved noticeably. I feel that this is due to the wonderful care shown during the last 3 months. She is now eating well, put on a little weight and with friendly persuasion from her dedicated carers (who have become her new friends) is drinking more fluids.
The food, mostly prepared from fresh produce by the fine chef, is of excellent quality.
She is in need of hourly attention due to her pressure sore and this is done without fail.
It was with much trepidation that my wife and I chose a home for my sister but we knew it was a place where my sister would be as close to home as possible. She is very happy and life is as good as it could be considering her problems.
All the staff have great empathy with the needs of the people who live in what is their new home.

We could not have chosen better.

I came from the Luton and Dunstable hospital in a very low state of health. Within a day, Taymer Nursing Home got to work on me and I started to recover slowly. The staff were very good looking after all my needs. The home and food have been excellent. I am on the verge of going home with being able to do most things for myself. I would like to place on record my gratitude to everybody for their kindness and help at all times. The management did their part very well.

My Mum was admitted to Taymer for rehab after a stay in hospital - she was very apprehensive and really didn't want to go however after a few days she was very at home. The Management and the whole team there could not have been kinder or more considerate; they gave me complete peace of mind. They treat their residents with dignity and respect. The home had lots of activities going on too that really helped Mums recovery. She was in an NHS room which was satisfactory but their residents' rooms are much nicer.

The food was fantastic - it was good to see Mum eating so well.

If it was necessary for my Mum to be admitted to a nursing home she and I would certainly choose Taymer.

I live in Devon, my brother resides in Bedfordshire. We found this home after visiting over 20 others. Mother lived with me until I could no longer manage, she moved to another home in Bedfordshire where she previously lived. She fell and broke her hip. After being treated in hospital she could not walk- she will be 99 next month and was in a poor way upon admission to Taymer Nursing Home. Since then, although deteriorating mentally, the staff at Taymer Nursing Home have greatly improved her physical health. The home cannot be faulted by me. My daughter, a senior health professional, comment "You couldn't have found a better home for grad, dad."

I was placed in a rehab room after being in hospital. The care was first rate, it was very comfortable from the bedrooms to the lounges and the atmosphere. Loved the fresh fruit salad each morning. The staff were the best ever, always there with a smile to greet you and kindness when you needed it. The staff encouraged me and built me up and were aware when I was worrying about things and gave me 'time'. The food was so good. They got me eating again. I didn't (hardly) want to leave. May others share this luxury as I did.

I stayed at Taymer House for four weeks and found the ambience while not quite a home form home, as near as dammit. The staff were all so open and friendly and went out of their way to help you at all times of the day and night. Rooms were comfortable and the food excellent. I believe a five star rating for this nursing home is more than justifiable. Anything less would be a travesty. The activities lady is particularly zealous in getting patients engaged in various activities and you can see her efforts reflected in the patients eyes, as they join in knitting, jigsaws and generally engaging.

Taymer nursing home is situated on the outskirts of Silsoe Bedfordshire. It is a pleasant comfortable home with a large garden full of birds and wildlife. I occupy a large room which has everything I need in it. The staff are happy and friendly and friendly and the chef frequently provides me with different meals I ask for, I am very fussy. My room is cleaned daily and my sink area is always spotless. There are activities in the main lounge most afternoons and meals can be eaten in your room if you choose. My airflow equipment is checked regularly and my oxygen supply of portables ordered on time. Nobody wishes to be in a nursing home but if you have to I recommend Taymer.

I visit on behalf of a church organisation and always feel very welcome and appreciated. The staff are friendly and kind and the ambience of the home is very pleasant. Our concern is that the difficulty of recruiting in the care industry means that it may take longer than usual for residents to get brought into the main lounge area during the day, but that is not the staff's fault but due to the shortage of staff at times.
