We never had reason to experience care homes up until now, when we were forced into making a decision. We have found Northcourt Lodge to be friendly, sensitive and caring. There is a pleasant homely feel and it has fulfilled what we were looking for.

I have always found the care given to my mother at Northcourt Lodge to be of excellent quality. All aspects of the organisation are exceptional. I am impressed with the level of thought and effort that is shown by the whole team.

The 'extracurricular' activities are varied and relatives/friends are regularly invited to join in.

Overall Experience
Our mother moved here from another local care home a few years ago as her dementia had progressed and she needed more dementia-specific care.
Since the move she has really thrived, much more so than in her previous home. She is always clean and dressed and as long as she is well, she is always brought downstairs during the day to join in with the activities. I know that a particular staff member buys jigsaws just for her as these are really the only things she still enjoys doing. She has gained weight again as the food served is more like home cooking.
All the staff are very caring and kind. They work hard to engage with all the residents, not an easy thing to do as they can all be challenging at times.

My mother is approaching her 100th birthday and I can honestly say I don't think she would have survived without this home. The care is personal and kind and really I can't think of anything I would change.

Overall Experience

This is an excellent care home. My husband was there for several weeks and received the best possible care. The home is clean and nice, the staff are friendly, patient and hard-working. The food is excellent, the lady chef and menus are great. Activities are provided by a wonderful activity manager, a lot of entertainment on a daily basis. This is a family feel to this home. My husband has been moved to another care home (residential one) as he is mobile as the Northcourt Lodge is a nursing home that is more suitable for people with restricted mobility. I am very grateful to this care home.

The few care homes that I have been in have not been as welcoming as Northcourt Lodge. The care and attention they give every resident is heart-warming to see, and you know your loved ones/friends are being well cared for, plus you know when you leave your loved ones they are being cared for, which takes away the worry when you are away from them. The staff here are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and it's a lovely feeling to have such honesty and transparency rarely found. Well done, you are amazing and the best place for any resident to reside.

My sister has had the best care from the team there, care is based on each individual's personal needs, their likes and dislikes, my sister has improved health wise lots since being in their care to the point she needs new clothes due to putting on weight, she looks so happy and content whenever I get to visit.

My auntie has had amazing care from the team and management, she is treated as an individual, so they do what is best for my auntie. The care has been amazing and my auntie is so well cared for she's put on weight and she is looking healthier, I thought I lost my auntie prior to moving to the care home but they have brought her back with all their care and I will always be truly grateful to the home and their staff.

Overall Experience

My mum has been a resident at Northcourt Lodge since January this year. I visit regularly and have always had a consistently positive experience. All staff members are kind, caring and great at their jobs. Mum is very happy with her care and has become much more relaxed and content, despite her significant difficulties and complete lack of mobility. The team working is impressive and staff clearly enjoy working there. They will always take time to speak to me and to Mum when they go by her room. No request is too much trouble no matter what they are in the middle of. Mum is positively encouraged to join in activities and enjoys the sociable elements of life at Northcourt Lodge. This year the team has arranged a wonderful garden party for residents, their families and friends. This was enjoyed by all and very well attended. Only this month they organised a Christmas party with entertainment, food and guests. It was great fun and the staff joined in even on their days off.

My mother moved to Northcourt Lodge in February 2023. She is bed bound and suffers from dementia. Since she has been there her dementia has taken quite a grip. All the staff treat her with nothing but care and kindness, even though my mother can be quite rude and grumpy.
She has everything she needs, including a TV and radio in her room. There are activities every day in the lounge and the activity lady goes to all the bed bound residence to give them one to one time.
The rooms and corridors are very clean. The beds are changed regularly and my mother is always extremely clean and well fed.

I have nothing but praise for all the staff at Northcourt Lodge and am grateful every day that my mother is there.

My mother has been a resident at Northcourt Lodge for 2 years and her care has been excellent throughout this time. The staff all treat her with dignity and respect and whenever she has needed nursing input for various health crises, this has been provided with kindness and professionalism. I often visit the Northcourt Lodge care home to see my dad, and I must say it exceeds my expectations. From the moment I step into the facility. I am greeted warmly by the friendly staff. The staff members demonstrate a remarkable level of compassion, professionalism and expertise and I witnessed how they treat each resident with dignity, respect and personal attention. It is evident that they generally care about the individuals they serve.
Northcourt Lodge also goes above and beyond in reference to events, they have put on a couple of amazing events this year, including a lovely Christmas gathering with a singer plus a local choir to come in and sing carols.

I am truly grateful for the wonderful experience that my dad is having at the care home and peace of mind It gives me knowing that he is safe and comfortable.
