Argyles has an experienced team of registered nurses and carers who provide nursing, residential, convalescence, respite, palliative and Parkinson's care.

This well-equipped Tudor-style house provides a comfortable and relaxing environment. Residents can socialise in the main lounge or relax in the quiet lounge as they choose, while the spacious gardens and patio can be enjoyed in warmer weather. Most bedrooms have en-suite facilities and can be personalised to suit individual tastes.

Much culinary expertise has gone into making meals balanced and appealing, meeting personal diet needs and favourites. Hot and cold drinks are always available and homemade cake is another popular addition.

Themed monthly events are part of the varied activities calendar, which includes visits from local performers, pampering sessions and excursions.

Overall experience good except for a few problems which now have been resolved. I have always been treated with dignity and find all the staff very helpful and understanding. Management excellent and always ready to help with anything. Excellent food and drink varied menu, maintenance person very helpful.
We find that all the staff work as a team but too many to mention them all and would recommend Argyle Care Home to loved ones and friends.

My dad never wanted to come into a care home of any shape or form. To start with, I was hesitant, but by week two, I saw just how tentative the whole team of care were with Dad down to the chef!
Thank you, Argyles. I would highly recommend you to anyone I knew who needed to move loved ones to Argyles.
Reply from David Mclean, Customer Service Adviser at Argyles Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave your kind review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your dad in our care after the transition into the home, and we hope Argyles Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. My father spent his last few weeks in the palliative care room at the Argyles Care Home. The staff were very helpful and caring to my father and also his friends and family who came to visit. The family who made this room possible called the staff the Argyle angels and I second that wholeheartedly.
This review doesn't come close to the warmth I feel for the Argyle rest home.
Reply from Grace Langfield, Customer Service Adviser at Argyles Care HomeThank you for your kind review. It's always lovely to hear words such as "helpful" and "warmth" used to describe the services and care our staff provide, especially when it comes to a difficult time like with palliative care. We are glad to hear your family, friends and Father were treated with such compassion during a difficult time, and hope you are able to look back on this with comfort knowing your loved one received the best care possible.

Mum has been at the Argyles for just over a week and the care she has received has been exceptional. To see Mum so happy and settled has been so reassuring for my sister and me. She is smiling and again takes pride in her appearance. We felt so guilty about making the decision to move Mum to the home,
but it has been such a blessing. We no longer have to worry about her every move. We hear about the delicious meals daily, she especially enjoys her shandy and today she has been to church. We cannot thank you enough.

I called Argyles Nursing Home on the 1st of June and thought what a lovely home it was. It was spotlessly clean and the staff was so welcoming. I told them when my time comes I'll be there! My friend told me the food was good and her washing was perfect and so quick. So very well done to you all.

We visit our dad regularly and are always made to feel welcome, The staff seem to recognise us now and it feels nice to visit our dad. He is always well turned out and appears happy. We have been invited to a few social occasions which all the family try to attend. If Dad is at all unwell, we are notified
straight away. We would recommend this home to any friends and family.

My mum has been living at the Argyles Care Home for just over a year now since moving from a previous care home. Since she has been here she has made new friends and gained new interests and gets involved in any social aspect. The staff are extremely good with her and most importantly she is happy.
The Argyles Care Home put on a social event for the king's coronation which we attended as a family and the entertainment they put in was fantastic. This is a brilliant care home.

I am an RN of 38 years from Canada. My aunt has been in your care for over 5 years. I found my loved one to be clean, beautifully groomed, well fed and hydrated. It was obvious she was being turned and cleaned with excellent skin care. Her skin is perfectly intact with no sores. When the staff were
performing these duties they were kind, gentle and professional. Thank you so very much.

My wife has been a resident in Argyles for nearly six years with advanced dementia. She is unable to communicate and relies on the support of the staff for all her needs. But I know she is contented and being looked after really well. I know all the staff really care for her. The home is welcoming,
friendly and clean and the staff do a fantastic job. I cannot praise them enough.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.576)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.576) out of 10 for Argyles Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.626 for Argyles Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (151 Excellents x 5) + (59 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 222 Ratings = 4.626
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Argyles Care Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
