Larkland House

Social events are good and well organised.

My wife's care is ok but some staff need more training. She needs more going to more music and animal. I have to check to make sure she has her own clothes on. Things are corrected when speaking to the manager I should not have to do this if the staff had done their job.

Our cousin has been looked after at Larkland House for the past year. It was recommended to us by a close friend whose father also stayed there for a while. The whole team are kind, friendly and treat him with great patience and respect and do their best to make sure he is as happy as he can be. We have not given a rating for Activities because our cousin prefers not to participate but we know they are a regular feature for the other residents.

A very caring personal home with fantastic staff that show compassion to all residents. There are always things going on with lots of activities while the food is excellent,

My aunt has been in Larklands for three and a half years she is happy and well looked after. Sadly coming to the end of her life she is always treated with dignity and respect. The staff cannot do enough for all of her family, keeping us informed all the time. Thank you Larklands.

Mum was a resident of Larkland House between December 2021 and August 2022. She was really well looked after and happy there. The staff were kind, patient and warm. They managed her complex needs really well.

My Dad first became a resident on a respite basis, he settled so well that we decided it was the best place for him full time. The care he receives is great, staff are all so kind and genuinely caring towards him.

My mother was a resident in Larkland House for nearly four years. The care she received was second to none and I am very grateful for the dedication of the team to my mother's well-being and care. I did not have to worry about her at all, particularly through the pandemic, as the team did all they could to keep up family contact even when visiting was not allowed for many months.

My mother passed away recently but I am secure in the knowledge that she was loved and cared for to the end and I thank everyone at Larkland for looking after her so well.

My mother in law moved into Larklands care home, after a really terrible experience in a previous care home. My mother in law was unable to walk and was being unlawfully restrained with bed sides. In Larklands she is now walking again independently and no need for bed sides. She has a lovely room, the staff are always very friendly. Frequent activities which always shows great involvement from the residents and the food always looks amazing. The manager has is very knowledgeable, caring and dedicated and this shines through into her staff team. We couldn’t be happier, the physical and mental change is also very apparent. She is no longer confused and enjoying the company of others after living alone for such a long time. As a family we are so very greatly for the care and support she is receiving at Larklands care home

Couldn't wish for a better place for a relative to be. The staff are always helpful and caring to residents and families.

Very pleased with the Way all staff treat my husband, they look after him vey well. He has only been there for a little while,they also make me feel very welcomed.very pleased we where able to get him in Larkland’s, it has turned out much better than l had hoped

My husband is bedbound and has been at Larkdown for four and a half years. During that time he has been treated with the utmost respect by all members of staff, even when he swears at them when he is in pain. They always make sure he is comfortable and has everything he needs.

Friendly, welcoming and pain-free. I feel that the team know both me and my brother and they go out of their way to be accommodating.

I cannot praise the staff enough for all they did for him, their gentleness, the happy atmosphere they created, and their skills and professionalism.

I just wanted to say how amazing the staff team are at Larkland House Care Home in Ascot. Accepting that Dad needed to go into a care home was a painful and distressing decision for us as a family, and the team at Larkland made what was a horrible situation not only bearable but showed us endless support and care. They looked after my dad with compassion, humor and genuine kindness. I don’t know how we would’ve got through the last two months without their support. Right up until his death, last Saturday, they dealt with both him and us with dignity and discretion and we will always be eternally grateful for their professionalism and dedication at such a difficult time. A huge thank you to the whole team, you’re an amazing group of people. You all deserve medals!

The journey from Mum being at home, carers 3 times a day, stumbles, dementia and a heart attack with a breast cancer diagnosed to boot has been just awful. When the hospital gave us a list of local nursing homes we began the research. Anyone can create a great web page, so we drove around looking at the possibilities to make it a reality. The minute the manager came out of Larkland and opened the doors we felt at home - a home for Mum. All a bit raw (she passed just 4 days ago as I write this) but she has been looked after with care, love and laughter 24/7. With regular Skypes and weekly visits I never expected it to be such a vibrant, happy place. Quite wonderful. When I got the call that Mum was not so well, I was met by the manager and the lovely people who had been looking after Mum, there with her as she passed away. I couldn't have wished for more, and nor could Mum. They are and will always be extended family.

Very happy with all aspects of the care home. Staff and carers all very approachable and caring. Rooms are kept clean and tidy and the food served is home-cooked and presented well. My father was always clean and dressed and looked after very well.

The level of personal attention is superb. Hopefully, under the recent change of management, we as relatives will be kept informed of what is happening.
