Being an established care home, Larkland House has developed a great reputation for delivering the highest standards of care. The team creates a unique, personalised care plan for each resident, considering their individual needs and wishes.

an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My husband is bedbound and has been at Larkdown for four and a half years. During that time he has been treated with the utmost respect by all members of staff, even when he swears at them when he is in pain. They always make sure he is comfortable and has everything he needs.

From the moment I stepped through the door into Larkland House looking desperately for somewhere I would be happy for my husband to spend the last weeks of his life, I (and later he) met with nothing but kindness and warmth from all the staff. He was in the last stages of Alzheimer's disease and was
transferred to Larkland from hospital after he spent five and a half weeks there having broken his hip. Also, his skin was so fragile it tore at the slightest scratch, so he was in constant need of nursing care and attention.
I cannot praise the staff enough for all they did for him, their gentleness, the happy atmosphere they created, and their skills and professionalism.

I just wanted to say how amazing the staff team are at Larkland House Care Home in Ascot. Accepting that Dad needed to go into a care home was a painful and distressing decision for us as a family, and the team at Larkland made what was a horrible situation not only bearable but showed us endless support
and care. They looked after my dad with compassion, humor and genuine kindness. I don’t know how we would’ve got through the last two months without their support. Right up until his death, last Saturday, they dealt with both him and us with dignity and discretion and we will always be eternally grateful for their professionalism and dedication at such a difficult time. A huge thank you to the whole team, you’re an amazing group of people. You all deserve medals!

The journey from Mum being at home, carers 3 times a day, stumbles, dementia and a heart attack with a breast cancer diagnosed to boot has been just awful. When the hospital gave us a list of local nursing homes we began the research. Anyone can create a great web page, so we drove around looking at
the possibilities to make it a reality. The minute the manager came out of Larkland and opened the doors we felt at home - a home for Mum. All a bit raw (she passed just 4 days ago as I write this) but she has been looked after with care, love and laughter 24/7. With regular Skypes and weekly visits I never expected it to be such a vibrant, happy place. Quite wonderful. When I got the call that Mum was not so well, I was met by the manager and the lovely people who had been looking after Mum, there with her as she passed away. I couldn't have wished for more, and nor could Mum. They are and will always be extended family.

Very happy with all aspects of the care home. Staff and carers all very approachable and caring. Rooms are kept clean and tidy and the food served is home-cooked and presented well. My father was always clean and dressed and looked after very well.

Nurses and senior members of the caring team are both caring and compassionate to the residents and relatives alike. All new carers should be shown the ropes by these girls. I am sure these new carers would experience greatly form their knowledge and understanding of each resident's individual needs.

This is a warm, friendly place. The residents are well cared for and they go out of their way to accommodate residents i.e., getting in a steak or bottle of wine. It is a small care home and the staff are all regulars, not agency, so they get to know the residents.

Mum has been a resident at Larkland House for 4 years. As a Dementia residence, she requires and receives specialised and tailored care. Throughout her residency, the team at Larkland House have consistently delivered a high level of care coupled with empathy for my mother’s condition whilst ensuring
an inclusive approach towards the family through regular communication and interaction. I would highly recommend viewing Larkland House if you are faced with the difficult choice of finding a caring environment for a loved one to live with dignity and respect.

I find carers are very comforting and caring to all residents. Activities are plentiful with expert care from activity staff. The home is very clean and everyone is only too pleased to help with anything. I would recommend this home, definitely.

I find it difficult to keep finding nice things to say about Larkland House without repeating myself. The best way to say it is the proof is in the end result. In my wife's case, she will have been in the care home for 4 years in February. When I brought my wife into this care home, I thought I was
going to lose her. As it is, she has put on weight and is much happier.

As you can see the care that my mother has received has been of the highest order.
All the staff are extremely caring and always concerned for her welfare.

I can't thank Larkland staff enough for the excellent care they give my mother. They allow me to breathe a sigh of relief as I know she is in good hands. The staff are caring, friendly and very polite when dealing with my mother and they know her mood issues well.
Larkland retains their staff and
it's great to see familiar faces when I visit. My mother is clean and dressed, her room and bathroom spotless, food is excellent, and someone is always popping in to see if she wants anything.
If she's not well, I'm always informed by the staff with follow-ups from the GP. Larkland has many activities but my mother, unfortunately, chooses not to partake. I am grateful at having discovered Larkland which came first after visiting 5 facilities last year. Other family members who visit are always commenting on the good care she is receiving.

Since my husband has been in here he has really got a lot better.

I find the carers and activity ladies very loving, caring and understanding. A birthday party was held for my Mum and shared it with family and residents. All the staff were exceptional with a lovely spread. Everything went very smoothly with help from all the staff. A big thank you and your efficiency

Generally, overall review is satisfactory.
Laundry appears to be an issue i.e items don't get back to my mum's wardrobe. Every garment has been named tagged as previously advised.
Short staffed ( activity staff) now done to two and only one person Mondays and Fridays

Job Title: Home Manager

I believe that being a Home Manager is about creating a warm environment, not only for residents but also for those who work in the home or visit.


I joined Care UK because I appreciate their culture and ethos of supporting residents to live fulfilling lives.


Ensuring compliance is at the forefront of my work at Larkland House is an important part of my role, but I also like to be involved in the day-to-day lives of the residents and team. Seeing their smiling faces gives me a big sense of achievement.


If the team are happy, this reflects on the residents. I’m proud to work with incredible people who want to make a difference in people’s lives. It’s fantastic when this hard work is recognised. In a previous role, I won awards for Manager of the Year and Dementia Team of the Year.


Outside of work, I love to travel with my husband. Travelling is very important to us. Family is equally important, and any spare time is spent with my granddaughter.
